We are in the delicious and transitional middle period between two powerful eclipses taking place in the heavens. It will be another intense week for quite a few reasons. It is filled with lots of endings and new beginnings. First, Mercury stations and turns direct at 18 Scorpio on Monday. Second, Venus and Saturn meet up starting a new 10 month long cycle around the energy of desire, money and structure on Monday. Third, Mars and Pluto meet up in Capricorn, kick starting up a new two year cycle around their considerable active, power loving and possibly warlike energies on Tuesday. Fourth, a Full Moon Lunar eclipse takes place this Wednesday.
So One, Two, Three ~ the first three days are kick butt kind of crazy energy designed to blast through our defenses and move us forward, whether we want to go forward or not. Then we have the opportunity to move into actively working with the new cycles as they start up. But first we have the endings.
It will be quite a week full of endings which always happens before the conjunctions start a new chapter. In this case, two major cycles, Venus/Saturn and Mars/Pluto, end and begin anew! One right after the other. Mercury stationing and turning direct will sow all sorts of confusion, chaos, miscommunications, lost information and interesting energy into the mix of endings and new beginnings as we attempt to process what is going on during Mercury’s storm in the swampy, deeply feeling, yet not so communicative sign of Scorpio.
Essentially, this means Saturn in Scorpio’s work is about to begin. Venus had to wrap up her last bits of Libra, which she did last week. Now her official rulership of Saturn for the past three years gets passed over to Mars’ hands and his desire to accomplish and succeed. Venus and Mars are operating in a sextile, waltzing with each other, sharing, talking, dreaming about what they can create with their energies growing in fertile, moist earth. Venus arrives at Saturn and POW, it is over and done with Saturn in Libra. She and Saturn connect and start a new cycle with her in passionate Scorpio, answering to that powerful Mars in Capricorn ruling Saturn in Scorpio. Saturn’s been in Scorpio, kind of dawdling around, waiting for Venus to catch up with him. Now she’s ready to go and looking FINE! And He, Saturn, wants us to start to do our deep psychological work, now that he’s in the break it down, create, transform and fix it back up sign of Scorpio.
Mars met up with Saturn in Libra on August 15th and then entered Scorpio on August 23 when we started keeping our Mars sheets. Now Mars meets up with Pluto ~ the other one involved in this evolutionary triangle of change. Pluto, as the co-ruler of Scorpio, smiles as Mars catches up with him on Tuesday. Yes Mars meeting Pluto is a WAR aspect but the higher form of their union is similar to sitting on a rocket ship and getting launched into space. You have the power inside of you to evolve and take off. You know how big those missile launches were! We used to be able to watch the shuttle take off from my Dad’s place in Florida, several hundred miles south of the launch pad. It is a powerful, powerful energy. And YOU get to use it, consciously, or unconsciously, this week.
Saturn and Pluto are in mutual reception, meaning they are traveling through each other’s favorite signs and can switch places. Saturn can be in Capricorn while Pluto can be in Scorpio with a bit of a push by you. Mars in Capricorn and Saturn in Scorpio are also in mutual reception so they can swap places too, making Saturn move to build in Capricorn and Mars able to harness the power of Scorpio’s transformative energy. The good part of this is an incredible power to create and make manifest. Please, please, please take time in the next few days to focus your intentions on what you want to create in your life. Positive visions please! Just carry a piece of paper around with you on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and write your ideas, hopes and dreams on it. We’ll work with your list over the next bit.
Fourth, we continue to process the eclipse energy. Now we get to deal with the emotional component of the energy as the Full Moon has its light turned off by earth’s shadow moving between the Sun and the Moon.
Our first eclipse with the Nodes in Scorpio/Taurus took place on November 13. We had the New Moon Solar Eclipse on the North Node, moving us forward while the South Node sat on Algol, the head of Medusa. We were encouraged to SEE things with the Sun’s light taken away by the Moon, eaten up and swallowed by the Dragon’s head. Most of us lost something of value or released a situation or person in our Taurus house.
In the two week approach to the New Moon Solar eclipse, we had the angry feminine energy as typified by Mother Nature in the form of Sandy the Storm huffing and puffing and blowing houses, lives, businesses and careers away. The South Node in Taurus will take what we value and pry it out of our tight grasping fingers no matter how hard we try to hang on to it. As befits the Medusa beheading imagery and the rampant kundalini energy unleashed by the Scorpio New Moon eclipse, there were various sexual scandals involving abuse of power, angry females, or misuse of Venus which resulted in four star generals losing their jobs, puppets losing their voices, deaths and people resigning from office. It also was an amazingly powerful and enlightening energy designed to move yourself or others forward to brand new or refined and deepened psychological understandings.
This week as we approach the second, Full Moon eclipse taking place in the early degrees of Gemini and Sagittarius on Wednesday, we culminate and experience the emotional energy of the recent solar eclipse. It is time to EMOTIONALLY PROCESS what we learned or experienced under the Solar Eclipse two weeks ago. And there is a longer story running so we also get to experience the full moon ripeness, results of and wrap up the story from June 1, 2011 and February 29, 2012. Back in 2011, there was a New Moon Solar Eclipse in Gemini which started the story concluding before us now. The energy and the story associated with it has moved through the larger metonic lunar phase cycle. In our popular culture, we had the Moore and Kutcher, Klum and Seal, Schwarzenegger and Shriver relationships implode. Now, under this eclipse, we see the truth of the situations.
The Full Moon eclipse chart is particularly powerful as it has two Yods or Fingers of God. The Yods which are intertwined, forming both a Focussed and a Double Yod Key . If you have a Yod in your natal chart or by progression, these Yods will cause you to have a natal excitation and make the eclipse particularly powerful. Life altering events take place as Yods bring FATE or FATED events to us. There also are two Hammers of Thor or Hammers of God in the eclipse chart, hammering away on our soul and breaking up the blocks, blockages and stuck parts. If you have a Hammer of Thor or God in your natal chart or by progression, this will amplify the effect of the eclipse in your life. The Hammers have Saturn and Venus as well as stationing Mercury as their respective handles, asking us to change our patterns around home and hearth as well as breaking us free from our ideas and assumptions about how best to nurture ourselves. These are powerful energies to delve into health matters. They can also bring lingering emotional, professional, personal or health matters to the surface. Pay attention and take care of them. No ignoring it. No passing the buck. No pretending it isn’t an issue. The time is now to start to work on clearing up these matters.
There also are three powerful t-squares in the chart which will stimulate any natal t-squares in your chart. It is a whopper of an eclipse. And we KNOW the beginning of the eclipse cycle was a big deal as the Israel/ Palestine, Egypt and Sandy the Storm erupted. Now we have the EMOTIONAL part of the eclipse ~ preceded by the planet of desire, love and money running smack into Saturn, the planet of action, sex and drive linking up with the Lord of the Underworld and Mercury stopped in the heavens. A mighty powerful week awaits us. The Grand Trine in Water continues to send pounding waves of emotions flowing at us, lapping at our shores, swamping our dreams, acting as cosmic riptides on our consciousness. Mars and Ceres are both out of Bounds making their energies: action, anger, drive, sex and nurturing, creation or dark destructive feminine rather out of control. As Mars and Ceres are active in many planetary pictures and patterns expect angry, or powerful women and war to be featured in the news.

Commentary: ‘Cupid Knocking at the Door of a Human Heart’ is an image of love asking to be let in. Barriers and defenses may be keeping him from coming inside, but how long will the ‘Heart’ be able to resist? Opening the door to one’s ‘Heart’ can lead to new opportunities and possibilities around the issue of relationships. Finding “the key” to the ‘Heart’ can lead to big realizations about one’s self and others.
Oracle: It is particularly important to allow your heart center to open when you are in caring company as this can lead to amazing new things happening in your life now. By releasing your emotions and letting your guard down you open up the possibility for romantic love. However, do look out for any unrealistic projections onto others and the need for seeking love, salvation or joy only through the other. We must find it in ourselves first before finding it in another, if that is what we really want. Having your consciousness overwhelmed with the thought, love or presence of another can be uplifting, but it can also become a burden. Commentary: ‘An Old-Fashioned Well With The Purest and Coldest of Waters’ pictures a reliable, sustainable and refreshing supply of the essence of all life -’Water’. Over the years, the ‘Water’ from the ‘Well’ has been available to all who came to draw on it. This ‘Well’ can supply ‘Water’ to a single person, a small family, or a big community. ‘Wells’ symbolize sources of nourishment, the quenching of thirst, and can show inner wisdom, and the depth of people, emotionally and spiritually. The people of old saw ‘Wells’ as gateways to the spirit world where the veils between human existence and the greater spirit became thinner, and communications could take place with the gods and goddesses of the nature religions. How apt that I found the following on the internet ~ a lovely combination of the Eclipse energy of an old fashioned well with pure and cold water and the Hammer of Thor in this week’s eclipse. There is a place called “Thor’s Well”! From the internet: “Many people do not realize the existence of an amazing nature place called Thor’s Well. Located at Cape Perpetua, Oregon, the surf surge rock without doubt is very unique. It occurs at a moderate to high tide. It is not easy to take a snap of the place because of sharp rocks everywhere. Plus, a very strong surge could sweep right up and be very dangerous. The hole can be seen from the parking area at the far end of the rock shelf on the north side of Cook’s Chasm. Also it is time to start to work consciously with our Mars in other ways. We want that Saturn in Scorpio to sing his song loud and proud. Blocked Mars energy turns against our body, soul and heart. We have to clear it and release that blocked Mars energy ~ particularly on a week like this. In Brenda Shoshanna’s book, The Anger Diet, she has a series of exercises. This week, I want you to do the “Grudge” exercise on page 47.
Step 1: Make a list of those you hold grudges against. You may be surprised but don’t judge the list ~ just write it down.
Step 2: Write what each person did to cause you to develop the grudge. Don’t judge. Just write.
Step 3: Write down how LONG you’ve held the grudge.
Step 4: Grudge Replacement:
a) Write down something you liked about the person you have the grudge against OR something the person did that was kind for you.
b) Go over the reasons for the grudge ~ for every reason you created the grudge, write down a time you behaved that way. See if it helps soften your heart towards the other.
c) Notice what the consequence was of holding the grudge. What did you lose as a result of the grudge? What did the grudge give to you?
Step 5: Grudge Repair: Ask what you would need to let go of the grudge. Would you be willing to let go of the grudge if you got what you need? Are you willing to ask the person you hold the grudge against for what you need to repair the grudge? You don’t have to ask the person to repair but know what WOULD repair it.
One of my students said she didn’t like the grudge exercise. She liked hanging onto her grudges. She said it with a twinkle in her eye! Grudges are actually quite comforting. They support our view of the world that we are right and they are not right. Holding onto a grudge is completely and perfectly fine, particularly if you are a Scorpio, have a lot of planets in Scorpio or the eighth house. Scorpios are one of the few signs that actually get stimulated positively by their grudges. Grudges fuel them and inspire them to action. However the OTHER planets in OTHER signs invariably have their energy drained away by holding onto grudges. Do the Grudge exercise for the OTHER planets in OTHER signs. And do know that even Scorpios and Scorpio planets can find this exercise helpful. Holding on to grudges ties up that vital Mars energy. Try to release one (or more) grudges a day over the next week. And if there is a Grudge you DON’T want to let go of, that is perfectly and completely fine. Just notice it, observe it, and hang out with it. Chat up the Grudge you want to hang onto. You may find the Grudge has things to say to you. The poem below inspires. Grudges wrap themselves around justifications. Let go.

Moon Day Monday November 26 finds Moon in Taurus, answering to Venus as she approaches her union with Saturn and with a separating aspect of an opposition to Mercury. News will arrive today that you don’t much like but that you need to pay attention to. Mercury is stopped dead in the sky, at 18:10 Scorpio, turning direct from his recent retrograde journey. He’s been working with this energy since October 18th, dancing back and forth over the story. Juno’s trine to Eris suggest partnerships are wild and emotional… you don’t HAVE to partner with them if you don’t want to. Sun’s productive and fertile fire trine to Uranus offers creative ideas and a flare up of passion as their fires feed each other ~ write them down so you don’t forget them. People are feeling particularly energized in a weird way… watch out for information slippage. Double check the who is on the email list. This is the kind of energy for a snarky reply all when you are saying nasty things about someone in the cc- list. It’s a strangely creative energy too. Finances and love can feel a bit fraught but it is a temporary situation. Sun squares Chiron making foot or thigh injuries a possibility from over doing or over leaping. You can also get a solid shot to your ego that is very wounding. Lots of projection running around. Add that to your grudge list! Endings galore! Also this is a fine, fine aspect for “open mouth, insert foot” so think twice, thrice, no,maybe think 10 times before you say something. Even if you have said it before, TODAY it goes IN TO THE HEART of the matter. It pierces their heart. Or punctures your heart. Be judicious with words and communications. Mars opposes Kronos so matters of family, connection and partnership can be fraught with drama or sadness or endings. Venus has an aspect of brilliance to Jupiter so listen to what the two of them suggest. You aren’t going to LIKE it but within their words, there is a kernel of truth that can grow into a big strong tree if nurtured. Venus joins with Saturn ending her three year rulership of Saturn when he traveled through Libra… It is now officially SCORPIO TIME! Saturn in Scorpio Time! Watch for some wrap up communication around 8:19 pm EST…. you can’t make this stuff up! Letting go is always a bit difficult. LET IT GO!!! Get your arms ready to embrace your future!
Mars day, Tuesday November 27 finds Moon void all day in Taurus after making a separating aspect to stationing Mercury which delivered some shocking or difficult news to you. Sun links up with Astraea offering a healing opportunity. Mars links up with Pluto starting a new two year journey around taking action to evolve and change things late afternoon. Mars Pluto can also be a war like aspect ~ you can find you are going to war with someone even if you don’t really want to. There also is a phenomenon called mutual reception…where two planets can change place. Mars and Saturn can change place and make Mars sit next to Venus and Saturn sit next to Pluto… These are VERY powerful energies for creating, love and romance as well as building new structures or situations in your life. Use them productively and in their higher versions as much as you can. Venus connects with Kronos and asks you to release your longings and problems that are locked in the past. Your future is before you. Venus’s sesquiquadrate to Pallas encourages you to hammer out your resistances to changing old patterns. You can do it!
Mercury’s Day Wednesday November 28 finds Moon in Gemini with a Full Moon Eclipse. This is a mighty powerful emotional conclusion to the earlier Solar eclipse on the New Moon on November 13. Whatever came to light back then, now is presenting itself for emotional change and conclusion. Our most profound evolutions always involve our emotions. Sun connects with the nodes of Fate by declination offering us a choice of how we want to proceed. Sun’s stressful aspect with Eris suggests that some inherent discord is still operating underneath the story. Allow it to surface. Listen to it. See if you can figure out the underlying source. Where does it connect in your being? Pallas squares Juno asking us to understand our patterns in relationships. If we don’t understand them, we can’t change them. Venus has a sextile to Pluto suggesting triangles and power struggles even if it is a productive working relationship. Venus adjusts her desire for power and tries to contain herself or present two options. Truth be told, this may never work. Some things are not meant to happen, delicious though they may be. On the other hand, the Moon IS in Gemini answering to that stationary Mercury in Scorpio so you COULD evolve, IF you want to and IF they want to. Do you want to? Do they want to? Look at your grudge list…. How are those grudges for patterns for you? Moon is occulted by Jupiter, retrograde, in Gemini, offering a bizarre sense of the possible. Entertain options.
Jupiter’s day, Thursday November 29 finds Moon Void all day in Gemini. Mars and Venus perfect their sextile today and connect on a profound level in relationship. Mars and Venus allow for the love and connection in our lives. Pay attention to who you meet. You have to allow for the possibility of profound connection and intimacy even if it is hard to imagine right now. It IS possible. And Saturn in Scorpio WANTS a profound and deep connection, even if it is hard. Sun’s nightmare about losing his identity is just that, a nightmare. Dreams are particularly profound today. Neptune argues with the creating principle… yes you bit off more than you can chew BUT it was your DREAM. So scale it back a bit and proceed. It is about having the dream and giving it permission to evolve rather than thwarting it by not even trying. Partnerships can make you feel rather swamped and overwhelmed and even a bit wounded. To love we have to stand in a place of possibility and wonderment. Allow that for yourself today. Sun’s not sure he wants to let his ego relax enough or relinquish power. Trust the universe.
Friday Venus’ day November 30 Moon in Cancer is full of profound emotion and sets off the grand trine in Water as she enters Cancer… waves of emotions are flowing freely today. Moon connects with Neptune and sends another surge of emotions across the universe. Imagine you are in a large pool and the waves of energy and water are rolling at you as people keep jumping in, doing cannon balls and creating wave after wave. Nothing over your head. Nothing you are going to drown in. Just emotions flowing, flowing, flowing. You are perfectly safe, just feeling the waves coming at you. Venus in Scorpio links up again with Poseidon in water… more water. Allow for the energy of discussion and perhaps even arguments to flow today. It has to move or it will feel way too stuck. Venus pushes for an brand new approach to relationships and how it will continue. Mars sextiles Poseidon ~ again move waves of emotional energy are coming at you at the end of the day. There can be sudden break ups or a break through at the end of the work day. Release, let go, get clear. As you go to bed, there is a comfort as Moon trines Saturn sending yet one more pulse of water across the pool.
Saturn’s day Saturday December 1finds Moon in Cancer all day long, adding sensitivity to everything. Moon’s opposition to Pluto in the night could have brought a troubling dream ~ the heavens are trying to speak to you about how to evolve. Mercury’s stressed and sending shocking or chaotic images to your unconscious mind to help you get clear and precise about what you want to do. Mars has a quintile with Pallas so he’s inspired, brilliantly so, by a smart woman or great idea. Make sure to DO IT or ACT ON IT. It really IS an inspired idea. You need to spend sometime organizing yourself today as things seem a bit out of control. Can you take some time and make a giant to do list? It can be very comforting! Or at least a vision of how you want to proceed with the various and sundry holiday plans. You’ve been at a full out run for a while now. Time to take time for yourself today. Allow yourself space to say no or not right now. Uranus pushes against Ceres so he doesn’t want to go back to the old way either. Come up with a new plan. Mars has stressful aspects to the Nodes… there ARE easier ways to accomplish what you want to do. You simply have to let go and allow the change to happen. Let go. Allow. Neptune’s trine to Ceres suggests there is an addictive quality to what you want to let go of…. Addictions can be healthy but this one probably isn’t a healthy addiction. The energy is a bit too out of bounds and uncontrolled for that. Ceres on the World axis, moving backwards, brings the feminine and nurturing principle into sharp focus. Trust what you see and feel. Mars is very crabby with Jupiter… you can’t go back. You have to go forward in a new way.
Sun’s Day Sunday December 2 finds Moon void most of the day in Cancer and entering Leo at night. Moon has a nice closing trine to Mercury offering a connection and important information. The past three days have been about connecting and allowing the positive emotions as well as the negative ones to simply wash over your being… feelings and emotions are expressing themselves but not lingering. After yet another dream filled night, make sure to write these messages from your unconscious down. Last night there were three or four separate points your unconscious was trying to express. Health dreams need to be taken seriously. Jupiter’s in a bit of an argument with what you find actually nurturing… he’s not agreeing with whatever you are thinking of doing. Is it REALLY in your best interest to do that? REALLY? What would your friends say if you lined 10 of them up and told them what was going on. So then, don’t do it! They love you and want the best for you. This probably is NOT the best choice for you. Some things are best left dead and buried. Sun’s opposition to Jupiter suggests abundance is part of the story here. Allow yourself to expand and desire something more that what you had. You are worth it.
