The planets over our heads are affirming the evolutionary moment we each face in our lives. After last week’s very tough aspects, which stirred up the story from the April Eclipses and the Cosmic Cardinal Cross, THIS week the universe generally supports our emotional spaces and invites healing into the wounded parts. The heavens encourage healing, connection and generally say yes to us. Say yes back to the heavens. Accept the offers ~you can renegotiate after Mercury goes direct!
Mercury on the world axis on Monday and Tuesday brings exciting, interesting or surprising news. Pay attention to it. Notice what you hear and follow up on it. You are hearing it for a reason!
Chiron stations on Friday June 20 at 17:45 Pisces. Chiron goes backwards until November 23 when he stations and turns direct at 13:25 Pisces. He is activating the story from March 4, 2014 when he was last at 13:25 Pisces. When outer planets station, we feel the effect of their slowing and stopping for days ~ five days in the case of Chiron. ALL of this week until next Wednesday, June 25, we are very aware of OUR wounds as well as the wounds of others. Awareness of the wounds promotes healing. Chiron invites us to understand the nature of our soul’s wound as well as our personal journey towards healing that soul wound. It is time to not be ashamed of all the feelings we have. Our feelings are part of the human condition. Holding our feelings gently is really the best way to handle Chiron. We are who we are. Standing in that wounded place, we can always choose to go higher or lower. Choose higher today.
I’ve been having lots of conversations with various clients about envy lately, because Eris, the Goddess of Discord and Envy, is so prominent in the sky right now. She’s playing with so many planets and stirring things up all over the sky. Last week Jupiter squared Eris. This week Eris blindsides Venus from the 12th house position and afterwards Jupiter subsequently comforts Venus.
Eris is the Goddess of Discord and Envy. She threw a golden apple into a party she wasn’t invited to, saying it was for the most beautiful Goddess. Three of the Goddesses, Aphrodite, Hera and Athena, competed for the golden apple. Paris chose Aphrodite. The two Goddesses who lost, left and started the Trojan War which went on for 10 years. The most beautiful woman in the world, Helen of Troy, happened to be married. Envy is up and running about last week and this week.
Many people have mixed emotions about envy. Some report feeling shame, humiliation or fear when envy is around. Some attempt to minimize or hide their own light in response to feeling envy coming at them from others. Others act out of their feelings of envy. It is important to remember that envy loses its power when it’s named or acknowledged! Envy is a human reality. Our job as people is not to be afraid of envy. If we look at envy as a thing we have to work with productively, we CAN figure it out and handle it. Whether we use envy to inspire ourselves to go for OUR dream or name it to help other people understand the envious source of their behavior, we need to work directly and productively with Envy this week when Eris shows up. You can totally do it! Eris kind of likes it when you call others on their bad behavior done under her influence ~ it’s a grudging respect of “Oh, so you see and appreciate envy now eh?” A bit mafia honor code maybe but respect envy none the less. She causes so much trouble in the world.
The Week’s Planetary Highlights
Sun goes from 25 Gemini to 0 Cancer. The Summer Solstice marks a new season beginning as well as the ending of Spring. Spring 2014 was a difficult season with both Mars and Saturn retrograde, difficult eclipses and that Cosmic Cardinal Cross Climaxing. Summer promises much abundance, growth, excitement and creativity. We make important new relationships and connections on Tuesday June 17. We have an exciting breakthrough on Thursday June 19 as we release and conclude a chapter of mental change. We start a new season of life on Saturday June 21 as the Sun reaches his zenith on the Tropic of Cancer and stops for three days to celebrate the Summer Solstice to enter the Sign of Cancer! Have a ritual releasing Spring! Aren’t you happy Spring is over? Have a ritual welcoming Summer! Let’s get ready to roll!
Mercury continues to goes backwards from 0 Cancer to 27 Gemini. On either Monday or Tuesday, June 16 or 17 you receive important news that you need to pay attention to as Mercury rolls over the world axis. Later in the week, on Friday June 20, you have a major psychological breakthrough and aha moment which puts things into perspective for you. Connect with your ghosts, talk to the people from the past that are arriving to talk to you. All the ghosts connecting with you carry information to help your shift your consciousness and see things from a different perspective.
Venus is travelling from 22 to 29 Taurus. She is adjusting all week long to various changes in the world, soothing them, comforting them, and inviting them (now that the needed changes have been made) to develop and grow into the new direction. Important relationship adjustments on Friday June 20 and the possible end of a relationship on Saturday June 21 and Sunday June 22 ~ or maybe a firm set of boundaries will be created within the existing relationships.
Mars latches onto a new dream on Tuesday June 17 and prepares to separate from a situation that’s not working for him on Wednesday June 18. Mars launches you off like a rocket between Friday June 20 and Sunday June 22. Stand back, world! Here you come!

Uranus semi squares Juno, putting stress on partnerships and helping you see patterns clearly on Thursday June 19.
Neptune is quiet this week but you might have the sniffles on Wednesday June 18.
Pluto is quiet this week.
Chiron stations at 17:45 Pisces on Friday June 20 after helping you work through some relationship challenges earlier in the week. The Chiron station lasts 5 days on either side, so people can be especially sensitive with this energy between Monday June 16 and next Wednesday June 25. Chiron is in Pisces so the existential angst of being abandoned and alone is present this week amidst all the swirling energy of new beginnings. We do realize we ARE alone as we turn off the lights on our old chapter and start to move forward to the new. A swirl of shifting and very emotional energy ~ focus on what you’ve learned and where you are going next.
Pallas, Vesta, and Ceres are quiet this week.
Juno enters Gemini on Tuesday June 17 until August 9, saying, “Partner with whomever you want! Maybe a FEW partners? ” These next partnerships or relationships has a lot to do with how you talk and communicate, as well as helping you move in a supportive direction towards partnering successfully with yourself and others. And yes there will be at least two ~ Gemini demonstrates by having you work with doubles ~ the yin and yang , the duality, the black and white, the yes and no, the good and bad. The choice. It should be fun as pretty easy as the lessons (hopefully!) have all been learned.
Cupido trines Eris on June 20. The group you are a member of may be envious of you around Friday June 20. That’s okay! Reacquaint yourself and work with envy and jealousy in a positive way. When we ban an emotion it gets backed up in our system. If they are envious of you, you MUST be doing something Fun that they want!

The Summer Solstice takes place at 6:52 am EDT on Saturday, June 21, 2014. We look for hotspots for the next season by watching where malefic planets are angular. Moscow and St Petersburg in Russia and Mariupol and Odessa in Ukraine have malefics angular. The action described by the chart starts a few weeks before the Summer Solstice, as the energy starts to focus and form.
So from the internet last week on June 13, “Ukrainian forces have reclaimed the port city of Mariupol after heavy fighting with pro-Russian separatists. The government said there had been many casualties after an operation to expel separatists in the city began at dawn on Friday, June 13, 2014. The advances appear to be significant victories for the pro-European leadership in a military operation to crush the armed rebellion that began in east Ukraine in April. Interior Minister Arsen Avakov announced in a post on Facebook that Ukrainian forces had taken the city less than six hours after the attack began. The country’s largest Azov Sea port has changed hands several times in weeks of conflict and is strategically important because steel is exported through the port and the city lies on major roads from the south-eastern border with Russia into the rest of Ukraine.”
Of course, last week, Mars was back at the degree he was at in April when Putin first claimed to Ukrainian port. At that time, Mars was retrograde, so nothing much happened. Last week as Mars squared Pluto, we had a mini-eruption of war. We can expect much more war under the Summer Solstice chart as Mars in Libra is approaching an opposition to Uranus.
In the Summer Solstice Chart cast for Washington, DC, the Ascendant Cancer, the chart ruler, finds Aries Moon is elevated in the 10th house, sitting on the midpoint of Uranus and the South Node. We can expect many leadership changes, particularly based on angry women or an angry public. Moon on the Uranus/South Node midpoint indicates a sudden collapse or change. Sun in the 12th house, ruling the second and third houses speaks to a focus on finances and communication/education, particularly overseas or via institutions. Mercury retrograde in Gemini in the 12th house as the latest degree in the chart indicates communication misunderstandings particularly in foreign places, prisons, hospitals, non-profits, and institutions. It is a Saturn Day, Saturn hour chart so the KARMA and Saturn in the chart take outsized importance!
On July 1, HR 2847 becomes law, as Mercury stations to go direct. Among HR 2847’s provisions is a requirement to track US Citizen’s bank accounts and financial holdings overseas. Overseas institutions such as credit unions, stock markets and banks have to report to the IRS the balances held in each country by citizens. Failure to report results in substantial tax liabilities to the institutions of 30%. Many institutions are simply refusing to offer accounts or cancelling accounts rather than deal with the new reporting requirements.
Between the HR 2847 law coming into effect and combining it with the recent deal struck between China and Russia regarding trading oil without using the US dollar as the trading currency, our ability to (recklessly) print vast sums of money is under direct threat. There should be major sell offs in the various stock markets over the next few weeks as people adjust their holdings and positions. Expect lots of turbulence in our stock market as Uranus rules the 8th house of the Solstice chart and stands as the highest elevated planet in the chart. Jupiter’s square to the nodes of Fate, ruling the Midheaven and the employees/workforce (the original purpose of the bill), suggests the law of unintended consequences is about to bring some unintended consequences home to roost. Saturn in Scorpio in the fifth house ruling the seventh of other people and eighth of investments….Saturn’s day and Saturn’s hour speaking loud and clear.
Personal Note: Last week, I waited in anticipation for Mars to return and aspect the degree he was at when I broke my foot by slipping in a hidden patch of clear cat vomit. Right on schedule, there was cat vomit on the floor! It is hair ball season for non-cat owners lest you think I live in an apartment full of cat vomit. As I bent to clean it up, I realized my crutch tip was in a SECOND patch of CLEAR cat vomit ~ just like the patch I slipped in ~ and the crutch was starting to move sideways…. You can’t make this astrology stuff up! Additional accident avoided! After seven weeks of being house bound (4 trips out of the apartment ~ 2 to doctors, 2 to hospitals), hopefully this week I start rehab, provided healing is far enough along. Keep me and my right foot in your prayers!
Moon day Monday June 16, 2014 Moon is in Aquarius with lovely closing aspect of a trine to Mercury, making today and tomorrow morning very productive in terms of getting writing accomplished and paperwork sorted. Moon trines Mars, making you have a great deal of productive and creative energy around ideas and your evolving visions of where to go. There is a minor setback this afternoon around 6:00 pm EDT, when you get a no. But otherwise it’s a full-steam-ahead kind of day. After last week’s difficulties, this week is much more smooth sailing. 10:30 pm EDT is a hard no. Walk away from the situation, and try to leave it behind. You are ready for next.
Mars day Tuesday June 17, 2014 Moon is in Aquarius in the morning, going void at 2:07 pm EDT. It enters Pisces at 2:26 pm EDT. The Pisces Moon has a hard closing aspect of a square to Mercury. The morning is yes, the afternoon is no. Expect a very busy day. Mercury is on the world axis, then enters Gemini moving backwards, making public announcements of importance, especially around separation, triangles, combined with the end or beginning of relationships. Juno enters Gemini until August 9…offering us a diversity is partnerships and a dual way of looking at things. Say yes to things you might normally be ambiguous about. After last week’s journey with Algol and Admetos, Juno is announcing the new version of relationships and partnerships that you will be undertaking going forward. Especially there will be no more unhealthy triangles. Sun aspects the Nodes of Fate, bringing an important person into your life ~ probably a Gemini or someone with a Gemini signature ~ who will offer you opportunities to move forward in a new way. Remember, whenever we end a relationship, (as we probably did last week) we create a vacuum of energy in our chart. Nature, abhorring a vacuum, immediately fills that empty space with a new person or new energy, replacing the old energy that left us. Watch for the new person or situation arriving today. They should be great fun! The takeaway is, pay attention to who you meet today – they are going to be important. Venus’s inconjunct to Cupido represents an adjustment to your groups and to the collaborative people in your life. Maybe it is about adjusting time spent, schedules, or a shift in their availability. It’s all for the good once you make the change. Mercury in Gemini going retrograde asks you to revise your plans and have Plan A, Plan B, Plan C, Plan D and know that you’re going to be picking and choosing between them. All good and it changes AGAIN when Mercury goes direct in July. In general, it’s a very happy day.
Wednesday Mercury’s day June 18, 2014 Moon in Pisces with a closing aspect of a square to Mercury means it’s fun and inspiring, but it may ultimately result in a no. Today is another day of pleasant aspects that accomplish a great deal. Venus has a very productive sextile to Jupiter. Earth Venus and Water Jupiter make fertile mud to grow things in – an enormously accommodating and beneficial relationship energy. Could this be love? Very possible! Could this be the right one? I’d say yes! Venus’s biquintile to Vesta suggests that this is a situation or person with whom you could spend a long time in a nest with. Mars contraparallel Uranus at 2:50 pm EDT sets up the story for next week, when the opposition happens. This could be shocking or unexpected news, electrical excitement or surprising events. It also could be an affirmation of the choices that you made to change your life last week. Mercury parallels Admetos. Expect a final answer, a final no, a final departure around 8:15 pm EDT tonight. Sun’s gentle quintile to Pallas Athena allows you to see the patterns and understand that there’s always a choice in how to proceed and the choice is always ours. This week is a very big week for making positive choices after last week’s energy of difficult choices.
Jupiter’s Day Thursday June 19, 2014 Moon is in Pisces in the morning and goes void at 3:06 pm EDT, entering Aries at 5:26 pm EDT. The Aries Moon’s closing aspect is a sextile to Mercury. In the evening, we’re back to yeses from the Universe again! Dreams were pretty wild last night. Tossing and turning and arguing and fighting and solving the problems of the universe. You awake with a start and a sense that today is important – it is! Important connections are made, particularly around creative projects, money, finance, love, and relationships, with Venus’s helpful and supportive aspects. You’re in a good place emotionally. Sun and Mercury join up, making everybody pretty clear about what they want and how they want it to go. Don’t try and change the other person’s mind. Try and figure out how to give them what they want. Figure out how to get what you want. There are always options. The Sun, after all, is in Gemini. Choice, choice, and MORE choice! Uranus’s biquintile to Pallas Athena at the end of the day offers an unusual twist or take on how to proceed with the plans and projects that the week delivered. Take a risk. The heavens are encouraging expansion and risk-taking right now. And yes, even though Mercury is retrograde and things will change when he goes forward, say yes. You’ve learned how to adjust to change!
Friday Venus’s Day June 20, 2014 Moon is in Aries with a closing aspect of a sextile to Mercury, so the information you receive will be positive and forward-moving. Moon in Aries is going to set off the breaking-up Cardinal Cross today. Power struggles mid-afternoon around 3:40 pm EDT, separations around 7:30 pm EDT, and a wild celebration or emotional release around 9:55 pm EDT. Days like today go very fast! Often we react instinctively, rather than from a place of well-thought-out response. In the morning, Venus asks you to make a choice about how you want to proceed with relationships, especially after another difficult night of dreaming. There’s some kind of weird mother-envy energy. Saturn’s Day Saturday June 21, 2014 Moon is in Aries until it goes void at 6:24 pm EDT. It enters Taurus at 11:03 pm EDT. Void Saturday evening. Today is the summer solstice, the longest day of the year, when the Sun stops at the highest degree he travels above the equator. We inaugurate the season of summer. As the Sun enters Cancer at 6:52 am EDT we finish another night of busy dreams that encourage us to awake to a new season. Venus’s sesquiquadrate to Pluto suggests there is a problem early on with the plans for the day. The desire to do lots of things will boil down to one or two actual plans, with everybody going in separate directions. Juno’s biquintile to the North Node indicates that you’re going to meet someone important to partner with today. Watch for relationships, romantic and otherwise, coming into your life. A sense of compatibility and passion for a shared vision is part of the day’s energy. There can be a bit of overdoing with the Moon’s square to Jupiter, but it’s a happy overdoing and quite enjoyable. Party down tonight!
Sun’s day Sunday June 22, 2014 Moon is in Taurus with a positive closing aspect of a sextile to Jupiter. Today is a lovely ending to a delicious week. Expect another night with lots of dreams. Dreams are your unconscious trying to help you figure things out and solve situations in your life. Last night’s dreams were about relationships that need to end and why. Moon is incredibly fertile, happy, content, full of good food and good cheer, as we move forward into summer. Spring was tough – the eclipses, the cardinal cross, all the drama with a capital D! The new summer season invites us to have a good time and create the life we want. Vesta contraparallel Ceres says that you’re making your new nest in a different way than how you were taught as a child. It is your nest! And after all it is your life. What is your best life?
