The New Moon on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 takes place at 3:43 PM EDT with the Sun and Moon at 22:44 Gemini. Mercury, the ruler of the Sun and Moon, is out of bounds, making the events taking place under the New Moon energy expansive and past normal in a good or bad way. I often compare out-of-bounds planets to Baseball. An out-of-bounds planet is a home run ~ over the fence, everyone cheers, and all the runners come in to home. A home run represents a great moment very worth celebrating. OR an out-of-bounds planet is a line drive foul ball into the stands, also out of the “bounds” of the game, hitting someone in the head at 100 miles per hour ~ blood, guts, and game delay while the person is carried out on a stretcher to see the doctor.
Gemini is the sign of children and out of bounds Mercury’s Cancer is the sign of families, so we find the news featuring children taken from their parents due to immigration issues and being lost, imprisoned or held in unknown places. We had two suicides (Gemini is the sign of the twins) of popular media personalities who invented new formats of existing products ~ Kate Spade and Anthony Bourdain. Both created popular, comforting products ~ purses and food ~ that we consume. In the Washington, DC chart, the New Moon takes place in the 8th house of death and transformation.
Venus is at the anaertic degree of 29:53 Cancer, promising a strong emotional reaction to the lunation’s energy and definite changes around love, money and what we value (as Venus answers to the out of bounds Mercury in Cancer). The angular Hammer of Thor involving Mercury and Chiron (as the hammer head) with Jupiter (as the handle) promises difficult situations will be handled in ways that seek to protect the vulnerable, wounded and sensitive. Take extra time on this lunation to be aware of how words impact and can hurt others. Mercury’s upcoming opposition to Saturn suggests you stay silent rather than speak.
Mars has just emerged from the first of three conjunctions to the South Node of karma, loss and releasing. We are all going to be releasing people, places and things that no longer serve our higher path or greater good. As there are planets out-of-bounds, some of the releasing can feel very negative, challenging or excessive (such as the recent suicides). Remember, we never know what is going on in the other person’s world. Circle back around the folks who are feeling fragile and seem unconnected.
Additionally, most of the outer planets, Jupiter, Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto are retrograde, joining the South Node in Aquarius to take us on a journey through our past. In a few weeks, Mars will station to go retrograde for the summer and join them. A few of the planets huddle around the early degrees as the Node of Fate moves retrograde toward 0. They really scrape the energy out of all the stuck, hidden, clinging, dark places in our charts.
