The week ahead has a series of interesting aspects, including a delicious New Moon in Virgo early Thursday morning, during which the Sun and Moon form a trine to Saturn in Capricorn, and an inconjunct to the retrograde Mars in Aries. It’s a great time to make adjustments to your life plan and lay the foundation for better habits. Look to the Virgo house of your chart!
Mercury, meanwhile, is in reveal-mode this week, as he makes a series of oppositions to the COVID clump. He opposed Pallas Athena on September 13th, then opposes Jupiter on the 17th and Pluto on the 21st. Consider what you hear this week your midterm report card. You might find out a secret that you didn’t want to know. But whatever it is, pay attention. You’re being told for a reason.
Tuesday, September 15th, has aspects that indicate sudden, unexpected changes and fated choices: Mercury contraparallel Mars, Venus aspecting both Uranus and the Nodes. Keep alert. The Goddess of Love wants to know if this is REALLY what you want. And if not, what are you doing about it?
We discussed all this and more in my latest AstrologyHub video with Amanda Pua Walsh (we’re switching to Mondays!), which you can access for free here. I’ll also be leading a New Moon Manifestation Circle webinar on Wednesday night (update: now available for download for $17).
I was recently talking to my friend David Rottman, a former president of the C.G. Jung Foundation here in New York City. He told me that he he cast the I Ching after the presidential election in 2016, and got a combination that he’d never seen before: “you have lost your magic tortoise.” It meant that we had lost our vision of who we are. In Chinese astrology, magic tortoises live on air, the element of associated with ideals and ideas.
It made me think about all the “I can’t breathe” energy that we’re dealing with in the US these days: from the respiratory virus that is COVID, to George Floyd and the gassing of protestors outside the White House, to the wildfire smoke blotting out the sun above the western states.
Take a moment on Thursday morning, to focus your breath and connect with your own magic tortoise. What is your vision? What are your ideals? What is the next right thing for you to do?
