12:48 Cancer Moon/ 12:48 Capricorn Sun

Our full moon Wednesday morning takes place on the day ruled by Mercury. Mercury is approaching a conjunction with the Sun in the sign of Capricorn. Mercury in Capricorn is part and parcel of the Full moon energy with our Cancer Moon. Mercury in Capricorn is very precise and succinct in his word and thoughts. Basic. Reliable. Practical. Down to earth. Calls a situation the way he sees it. No flowery words or niceties. He might NOT say something but his meaningful pause means as much as an answer. His failure to answer a direct question IS the answer. He plays a cd from start to finish, no shuffle thank you, as that is the way the artist created it and thus, that is the way the cd is to be listened to. There is a right way and a wrong way. What is said is as important as what is unsaid. Silences are important too.

So, the message from the Universe on the full moon in Cancer and Capricorn is to listen. Listen. Listen. Listen. Watch for the pauses. Believe what you hear. Look at what you don’t hear. Note what is said and not said. Pretend you are a prosecuting attorney. Watch the signals. Pay attention to the tics, twitches and things left out of the story. Ask the important question. Listen to the answer. In a world filled with oodles of extraneous noise, meaningless chatter and sound created simply to fill the spaces, the silences or the few words spoken on our full moon are very meaningful.

Why are the words so meaningful right now? Well Mercury and the Sun are both ruled by Saturn, who is going retrograde in Leo. Saturn’s had a rough time over the past year. Saturn was caught in that grand cross and then the t-square in the fixed signs. That served to help Saturn (and you) get crystal clear on a few things that have been going on in his (and your) world. Saturn (and you) has been the handle of the bucket of planets in the heavens since all the personal planets moved away from him this fall. He (and you) is kind of lonely hanging out at the end of the handle. You know that part of your life that doesn’t seem to be quite what you want? That part. Where you’ve been working on doing your Saturn? Yep, all the other planets seem to be having a grand old time. You aren’t ~ at least in that place. In your Saturn place. Saturn’s asking you to get down to the basics. What is important? Time is a wasting and he (and you) knows it. As Moon approaches Saturn, over the next few days, she’ll soften him up a bit. Saturn’s probably going to be a bit teary over. Saturn hates to cry.

Essentially, the point of the full moon is for Capricorn Sun, your purpose and function in our world, to give you permission to go for what is missing in your life. Capricorn Sun is lighting up the house ruled by Saturn. One of the houses where all the changes in your life have been taking place. It is time. Doesn’t it feel like it is time? Saturn rules time. Saturn rules the Sun right now. The full moon is emotionally lighting up Saturn’s house of Capricorn. Saturn rules Mercury right now. You and your mind are crystal clear about what you’d like to create. It might feel a bit overwhelming. However, you do know what you’d like. Mercury in Capricorn approaches the Sun on the full moon. Have Mercury tell Sun what you want.

You started working toward your new life in July of 2005, when the new moon that start this full moon was in Cancer. It marked the end (and promised a new beginning) of that difficult Saturn through Cancer journey. Back in July 2005, you’d finished up a major family story as Saturn got ready to leave Cancer. You were emotionally exhausted, wanted a vacation from your family and were ready for something fun. The point of the past 18 months has been to get you crystal clear on how you create fun, love and joy in your life.

Venus is at the last degree of Capricorn in the full moon chart. She is ruled by Saturn in Leo too. Venus in Capricorn is, above all, practical. She is willing to work for what she wants. She’s aware that the finer things in life can take time, patience and effort to achieve. Have a chat with Venus on the full moon. Tell her about your journey over the past 18 months. Tell her all the stuff you learned about what you didn‘t love, don‘t value and would not like in your life. Tell her how this one was too small, that one scratched, the other had a funny bow, tiny teeth or was grumpy and controlling. Tell her about the one that looked so good at first but faded in the laundry or blew away. Think of yourself as Goldilocks. You’ve been sampling all different sorts of porridge and trying out things to see if they fit you or are what you want. You’ve figured out SO MUCH over the last 18 months! Now, take some time on the full moon to narrow it down, using all you’ve learned over the last 18 months. Instead of looking at what you don’t have, focus on what you want, and what you‘ve learned. Have a chat with Venus about your revised list of dreams. There is still time to tweak the dreams over the next 9 months but give her a good idea of what you are looking for.

Last but certainly not least, Mars is out of bounds and approaching a conjunction with Pluto in a few days. Any planet out of bounds can act up. Mars acting up is NOT a fun planet! Particularly Mars in a fire sign like Sagittarius. If you find yourself stamping and stomping your feet or wanting to break a few dishes because you are so annoyed, THAT is the area you need to change! Not by stomping your feet or breaking dishes or whatever. That is counter productive. Stop doing whatever it is you are doing. Drop it. Stop it. Just let it go. You have no control here. And, the more you try to push it, the worse they are going to behave. On the other hand, Mars out of bounds has a laser beam like quality and can burn through things (when directed) to get what it desires. When Mars joins with Pluto, we have the destructiveness of war or the power of an atomic bomb. Remember to wear safety goggles!

On to Lynda Hill’s Interpretations of the Sabian symbols. The Moon at 13 Cancer has the Image: A HAND, WHICH IS HELD OUT RECEPTIVELY, IS REMARKABLE FOR THE SUGGESTION OF CHARACTER IN ITS PROMINENT THUMB

Commentary: ‘A Hand, Which Is Held Out Receptively’ implies reaching out to others. The ‘Prominent Thumb’ implies a strong will. This image infers a “handshake” of some kind. A “handshake” can bridge differences and gaps between people, bring them closer together and also show that one doesn’t have (or shouldn’t have!) a hidden agenda. The person reaches out to others showing their strong ‘Character’.

Oracle: Although a degree of flexibility needs to exist in this situation, it will, inevitably, be strength of ‘Character’ and a willingness to extend one’s self to others that will enable you to succeed. Being in control of oneself and one’s environment is an effective and lasting expression of power. It is also important to note that this Symbol is about strength of will and character, and that being receptive does not weaken this. In fact, it is in being receptive that we can truly be powerful and have a positive influence on those around us. The ‘Prominent Thumb’ can show a strong sense of determination and a desire to impress others. However, if this sense of strong determination does not come accompanied by the ability to compromise and listen, it will only create the potential for problems. This can also apply to groups of people and also to elements of your inner self. Reaching out and extending your ‘Hand’ ‘Receptively’ to others may be what’s required. Show that you are approachable and caring, and you’ll most likely see the situation resolve itself naturally. When the time is right you will be able to “grasp” what
is needed.

Keywords:
Openness and willingness to extend oneself to others. The handshake and the need for it. Being approachable and friendly. Palmistry and palm reading. Having a firm will. Introductions. Strong character. Flexible behavior.

The Caution: An aggressiveness and overbearing nature. Feeling that one is better, or stronger, than others. The smooth handshake that manipulates to impress one’s personality. Unbending and dominant behavior.

Next up, Capricorn sun at 13 holds the image of:

A FIRE WORSHIPPER MEDITATES ON THE ULTIMATE REALITIES OF EXISTENCE

Commentary: ‘A Fire Worshipper Meditates on the Ultimate Realities of Existence’ pictures someone who’s very focused on finding the core truths of ‘Reality’ and the depth and breadth of what it really means to ‘Exist’. ‘Fire Worshipping’ comes from the religion of Zoroastrianism, and is a branch of Vedism. The term Zoroastrianism comes from the Persian prophet Zoroaster or Zarathustra about 630-541 BC. Whilst a young man, he began having conversations with Ahura Mazda, the “Lord of Wisdom”. Fire was seen as the Creative God, as it was said to purify people, especially those that it consumed. “Magian’ is another word for ‘Fire Worshipper’ and can be used to denote an astrologer. Many rituals were observed, amongst these the sacred ‘Fire’ needed to be kept glowing in the home and also in the heart and mind.

Oracle: In your situation, you may find yourself very focused, with a great passion for getting to the core, or the truth, of the ‘Ultimate Realities of Existence’. There may be a need to shut out extraneous sights, sounds and other outside influences that distract or worry. By turning inward, examining your situation and being on the alert for any messages that come your way, either from God or from your higher self, you will see into situations in a way you’ve never done before. There can be a sense of danger, but also a sense of fascination as things are revealed to you. This can picture new beginnings. There may be a need for harnessing personal resources. This Symbol is often about creating magic. Look through appearances to get to the heart of things. Alternatively, it can picture someone who goes to fanatical lengths to understand or promote something. This Symbol often calls into question the true meaning of the material things of life; do they get too much or too little attention?

Keywords: Self-conquest. Kundalini energy. Playing with dangerous elements to reach a higher state of being. Philosophy. The stories of our lives. Examining life and its meaning. The buzz of being alive. Questions of our very existence. Finding the reasons behind everything. Contemplation and meditation. Incense. The hypnotic spell that fire can cast. Staring into the flames. Throwing oneself into the deep end. The search for core truths.

The Caution: Overestimation of personal power and abilities. Obsession to the point of self-obliteration. One-pointedness. Being intense. Going too deeply. Exhausting oneself trying to discover the meaning of life. Excluding family and friends because of philosophical or spiritual convictions. Not seeing the woods for the trees.

SABIAN

I’ve been taking a palmistry course for the last few months. The hand is the vehicle of the mind’s will. The hand goes to work for what the mind desires, believes and wants. I’ve found it interesting, that the thumb is descriptive of our will as well as our character. Our will can be amped up, activated, awakened, by flexing the thumb back and forth. Try it! The next time you are feeling like you can’t, won’t, don’t, couldn’t possibly do it one more time, flex your thumb back and forth a few times to get your energy up, your will moving and your mind psyched to tackle the issue. It is very cool. It works! Then, back to work (do your Saturn) with your fabulous opposable thumb and build your dreams.
