In Blackwater Woods

Look, the trees
are turning
their own bodies
into pillars

of light,
are giving off the rich
fragrance of cinnamon
and fulfillment,

the long tapers
of cattails
are bursting and floating away over
the blue shoulders

of the ponds,
and every pond,
no matter what its
name is, is

nameless now.
Every year
everything
I have ever learned

in my lifetime
leads back to this: the fires
and the black river of loss
whose other side

is salvation,
whose meaning
none of us will ever know.
To live in this world

you must be able
to do three things:
to love what is mortal;
to hold it

against your bones knowing
your own life depends on it;
and, when the time comes to let it go,
to let it go.

~ Mary Oliver ~

Balance ever balance. As summer draws inexorably to a close and Saturn prepares to leave Libra until September of 2039, we close up, finish, release and let go of important chapters in our lives particularly in the area of our heart’s desires. We’ve come to deeper and profound understanding around our beliefs about relationships and the role of love and desire in our lives over the past two years. It is time to take Mary Oliver’s advice: Love what is mortal; hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and when the time comes to let it go, to let it go. Let those cattails burst and fly over the pond to create new cattails in your next season of life.

I remember the first time I burst a cattail. I was in the NY Botanical Garden with a friend who was a botany person, a Taurus/Aries mix. She asked if I had ever done it before. Feeling a bit questioning and uneasy about what she actually meant by “bursting a cattail”, (I am, after all, a wimpy Virgo at heart), I replied “No”. It actually felt vaguely dangerous the way she had asked me ~ arched eyebrow, slightly devilish smile on her face with that Aries energy flying around that invites you to explore the wild and exciting with them. We went over to the edge of the pond. She rubbed a cattail. And POOF, it exploded in her hand. The seeds flew off into the wind. While dandelions let you know they are ready to go flying with their flowers turning into seed heads, cattails hide their seeds heads in a demure and proper cattail wrapping. When you rub them the right way, cattails explode! She invited me to try bursting a cattail. It took a time or two to get the hang of it. Then I was wild to burst all cattails I could reach without getting my feet wet. We giggled and laughed like 5 year olds as we burst cattails and sent their seeds out into the wind.

This week and for the next 30 days or so, the Universe will invite you to burst the ripe and rich cattails in your own life. It is time to send your seeds out into the winds of fall and the upcoming season’s change. It is time to invite the Scorpio energy to enter into your life. Time to transform. So have no fear. Burst the cattails. Once the cattail starts to explode, there is NO going back. It just unwraps in a wild swirl of energy, releasing its energy out into the winds. That is the story with Scorpio. Once the transformation starts to take place, there is no going back. The cattails are bursting. It is time to go forward to the next chapter.

When Saturn moves into Scorpio, we are ready to make deep personal and emotional commitments to our next chapter. It is almost time to stand firmly in our heart place and say “I do” to whatever we want to commit to. There are only 30 more days of Saturn in Libra. And only 3 more days of extremely emotional Venus in Cancer before Venus shifts into heart centered Leo this week on Thursday. We start to say “I do” this week once Venus is in Leo and connected back to our heart place. Once I figured out how cool it was to burst cattails, I was totally into it. You will transform this week, from trepidation about what is expected or required into a confirmed YES. Or maybe you will say NO. Either way, a shift is taking place. Then we are in the “I do” energy for the rest of the month after Thursday. Early in the week, we can burst cattails, rather unexpectedly, but still needed. Those seeds have to be set free to make new cattails in the next season. Of course, the wind will eventually burst them but you might find yourself bursting a few cattails yourself this week.

In a few weeks, we dive with Saturn into the deepness and transformative power of Scorpio. So while we are busy packing up the last bits of Saturn in Libra, let’s get ready to work with Saturn in Scorpio. Saturn in Libra had us working with our Venus issues for the past two years and two months. Saturn in Scorpio will have us working with our Mars issues. In fact, we’ve already started working with Mars in Scorpio as he entered Scorpio almost two weeks ago on August 23rd. This week, Mars goes through the degrees of 6:42 to 11:20 Scorpio setting off all the planets in your chart between those degrees.

As I mentioned last week, you have an optional homework project for the month. Mars is going through Scorpio from 0 to 30 between August 23rd and October 10th. Mars is the movie trailer for the passage of Saturn through Scorpio for the next three years. This month, all of September and the first bits of October are going to lay out what, exactly, Saturn is going to be bringing you to work with. So notice and record what happens on each day. As you can see from the link below, my first few days of entries include both world and personal events that I am going to be watching. Do the same for yourself to keep track of what Saturn will be bringing to your life. In some cases, you may just notice things going on in the world around you. In other cases, there may be a dramatic event or two that take place as Mars sets off your planets. Saturn will set off the same planets and continue the story when he gets there. I have also included the degree of Mars in the day descriptions below.

Additionally, if you are REALLY feeling your inner Virgo, the Nodes of Fate are going backwards in Scorpio as of last week. Now, the Nodes journey is much longer as they enter and move through a sign. They take about a year and a half. I’ve included a spreadsheet of these dates too. In the case of the Nodes, input your natal planets into the day they get set off and make a smaller sheet. Or just track them the way you are tracking the Mars planets.

ephemerday

Mars in Scorpio and now the Nodes in Scorpio coming from the back of the sign will alert us to how the energy of Saturn in Scorpio will manifest.  Last week I gave you the Mars in Scorpio sheet.  A student of mine requested a spread sheet for the Movement of the Nodes, backwards through Scorpio.  I thought it was a great idea (particularly I have a lot of stuff at the later degrees of the zodiac).  Apply the same technique.  Notice where the last degrees are in your chart and as they get set off by the reversing nodes, pay attention to what shifts in your life.

Both the Nodes and Mars are doing a squeeze play on Scorpio. One of my students described it as an oreo cookie with each of us in the middle. An apt description. And when Saturn gets to Scorpio, on October 5th, we have three years of his mucking about in our house of deep psychological darkness, profound change and secrets. We will have three years of Saturn playing with Mars in one of his favorite signs Scorpio. And every time that Mars changes signs, Saturn will change his behavior in our lives. We will be playing with Saturn and Mars as they lay out, talk and activate in our charts. And if you prefer Pluto as the ruler for Scorpio ~ he is kind of a super, duper Mars ~ well he’s also in the picture. So we need to learn to work with Mars energy more effectively. Mars, in all his various shapes, sizes and guises is where Saturn will be taking us for the next three years.

Last week, my friend Llorraine introduced me to a wonderful book with a horrible title, “The Anger Diet”. Written by Brenda Shoshanna, it steps you through the 24 different kinds of anger. I was surprised at that number of different kinds of anger but once I started reading the book, I was nodding and agreeing. I was going “OH yes!” In my mind, I was assigning them to the various signs of the zodiac. We each hook into anger in our own way as described by our chart. We have to deal with other people the way THEY hook into anger in THEIR charts. Each Mars has its own way of expressing anger. And as Saturn answers to Mars, we are going to be learning about lots of ways Mars can show up.

Of course, Mars can express himself in many other ways ~ warrior, fighting, ambition, drive, sex, action, will, competition, or assertion as well as anger. Most of the expressions of Mars we can work with or channel productively. Anger tends to be the stumbling block for most people especially as they run into forms of anger that are different than their own. Fire Mars tend to throw grenades to blow up the bridge and burn it as they leave or take off. Earth Mars build walls or barricades for protection, standing its ground. Air Mars take indirect approaches, talk about, fly away or even deny/ hide their anger. Water Mars shape change to match the emotions or containers they are encountering and flow around the problem, often growing stagnant or passive. In the course of Saturn’s journey through Scorpio, we’ll be dealing with each of these Mars in the zodiac as they come to work with and rule Saturn in the heavens and through traveling around in our charts. So consider getting the book, as we will be referencing it frequently. There is going to be a lot of anger rolling around out there!

And as Saturn and Pluto will be in mutual reception the entire time Saturn is in Scorpio, the emotions that we’ll be working with are connected to the underworld and the profoundly transformative power of Pluto in an action taking, mountain climbing, ambitious, and power wielding but not sharing too good Capricorn. So Mars, Saturn AND Pluto? Together? At the same time? Well, that is why you are reading this column. We need all the help we can get! Often when people come to my reading table with a big Pluto transit arriving or taking place, I encourage them to buy Robert Greene’s book on “The 48 Laws of Power”. It helps you get a handle on how to work with difficult Pluto energy. It isn’t a “nice” book but it does lay out the various power plays, the expected response to certain power plays as well as the antidote when one is available. Consider buying it too. We do have 6 more squares of Uranus to Pluto over the next few years, including a big one in about two weeks. The babies born in the 1960s as well as the rest of us are in for life altering changes.

But again, I am getting ahead of myself. This week was a three page week of aspects. Long time readers of the column know most weeks are one and a half pages of aspects. I rarely have a full two page week, much less get to a third page. But three pages are what we have this week! As mentioned before Venus changes signs into Leo on Thursday, helping us each stand in our heart place. Monday Venus is highly emotional as she is answering to Aries Moon ~ expect fireworks, fights and arguments. You could have had an big old, energy clearing fight on Sunday too as Moon was in Aries. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, Moon is in kind and loving Taurus, so Venus is gracious and content to help us wrap up our emotional lessons for Saturn in Libra. Since Venus entered Cancer on August 7th, she’s rolled through each and every sign with the Moon changes taking us, Venus and Saturn through an emotional wrap up of our two plus year journey of Saturn through Libra.

We also have a very active black Moon Lillith this week. Lillith has a fairly dark mythology. I always encourage my students of the heavens to look at her imagery without the patriarchal screed that often accompanies it. Lillith was Adam’s first wife. Lillith refused to be subservient to Adam and so they were divorced. Adam whined to God that he was lonely. So God made Eve from Adam’s rib where she was expected to stay by his side, tucked under his arm, silent, gazing adoringly, letting him have the last word and listening to whatever he said. No competing with him. No competing or showing anger or being sassy if she wanted to keep old Adam happy. Subservient. Essentially, Eve was a trophy wife; kind of like Katie Holmes used to be until just recently. Eve still got old Adam into trouble with God via the apple and the snake. Adam blamed Eve for his fall from heaven. But as my mother used to say, “Adam was free, white and 21, so he was responsible for his choices. As were Lillith and Eve for that matter.” Mom followed that statement with “And, if your friends were jumping off a bridge, would you jump too?” But I digress.

Lillith was made from the same clay as Adam was made from. She was his equal. But their union didn’t work out as expected. After their divorce, Lillith went her own way. This week, Lillith is quite active. We can expect the feminine to be unbowing and not subservient this week. We can expect the feminine to be dark and angry when treated disrespectfully. If you have trouble with a person who is not being as subservient as you would like, look to where your Lillith falls in their chart and vice versa. And why do you want the other person to be subservient anyway? What is that desire for them to be bowing and scraping all about? Where does it come from? On the other side of the coin, we are all going to be extra sensitive where we are asked to sacrifice our desire to be independent, pushed to be subservient or requested to bow to another’s will or vision of what we should be rather than who we are.

Lillith is in the last degrees of Taurus answering to Venus. Venus is very volatile, fiery, passionate and emotional Sunday and Monday with Moon in Aries and will become very clear and solid on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday with the Moon in Taurus. Lillith dives into the South Node of loss and departure. So people can and will be leaving each other for pretty much the reasons Lillith left Adam. Lillith parallels the Nodes of Fate offering us choices about how we want to proceed. Lillith has a number of aspects with other planets too. Big week around the themes of subservience, servitude and power.

We all have Lillith some place in our charts ~ it is the place where we refuse to bow or be subservient… for various good or bad reasons ~ all tied to our fears of annihilation by the powerful and dark other. Both men and women have Lillith in their charts. To the extent we have to control the divine, creative, powerful energy that we fear, the “other” rather than worshipping and playing with the other productively we run into trouble with Lillith. The bad part about weeks like this with Lillith is the uptick in murders because “I loved her/him. S/he left me. Or refused to be subservient and do what I wanted. So I killed her/him.” Men get killed off on this one as well as women. It’s a big time for relationships where things are not balanced to seek a better balance, where the servants’ and slaves revolt, when people can feel threatened and act or react very defensively.

Mercury and the Sun are moving in unison this week in the sign of Virgo so watch for being too dogmatic or self-righteous. Virgo counts and keeps track, sometimes to her detriment. Often, it is about improving the other whether they ask you to improve them or not. Do you want to be right or would you rather be happy? I had a Virgo client say that to me one time… it always stayed with me. Right or happy? Wow. What a choice. So if facing a situation you might normally walk away from, ask yourself that question. And can you be both? Why is it an either or?

Venus and Mars are also super busy this week. Venus has some relationship ending aspects early in the week. She can walk away without looking back. She has been working very hard since Saturn went into Libra two years ago as she took all of us on a two year project of learning about ourselves through the vehicle of our relationships to others. Now Venus is at the end of a very long journey. And the gal is tired, weary, bone tired and just wants a hug and to be loved instead of always working so hard. Her feet hurt. Her heart hurts. Her soul hurts. She’s been in on all the painful stories in the world as she’s worked with Saturn. So be EXTRA nice to your Venus this week. Send her flowers. Take her for a mani-pedi. Get her a nice piece of chocolate. Spring for a massage. Exalt in her beauty. Make her a favorite dish. Thank her for all she’s done to teach you about yourself and your desires. Ruling Saturn for the past couple of years, while rewarding and all, has been quite hard for her. The heart space, when open, can be broken. Encourage her to trust again. Encourage her to love again. Remind her that life is about living.

Mars, on the other hand, is full of spit and vinegar. He’s in Scorpio moving through the degrees of 6 to 11. He has a number of aspects with the outer planets so he’s getting juiced up for his three year romp in Scorpio with Saturn. He’ll be a little out of control. So if he strikes, as a scorpion sometimes can, resist the urge to step on him. Set a boundary. Remember he is showing you what Saturn is going to be about. You want to keep him talking to you. No bolting in fear. Remember Scorpio can be paranoid. Sometimes Mars in Scorpio is paranoid and acts out of fear, even if you don’t think you did anything particularly scary. Take a moment to see what is going on.

The Unconscious is NOT UNCONSCIOUS.   WE are unconscious to IT.  I think it is very humbling for the ego to recognize there is something far greater always operating inside of ourselves that connects to the universal.  The ego must learn to be in service to psyche or soul.  LLorraine Neithardt.

Moon’s day Monday September 3 finds Moon in Aries with harsh closing aspects of an opposition to Saturn and a square to Venus.  Moon square Venus offers us a contrast between emotions and desires, which are likely to be at odds today.  As Moon is in fire Aries, she is emotionally in the mood to fight and take no prisoners.  In the meantime, Venus in Cancer is emotionally exhausted and tired to her very core.  Neither of the feminine planets are at their best right now, both operating from signs they don’t resonate with.   The goddess of love, Venus, doesn’t want to nurse partner.  The Moon, normally a nurturing energy, is throwing fire energy out.  The feminine planets are angry or tired.  Venus also has a square to Saturn  ~ a psychological style square ~ so be conscious that limitations around relationships are likely to surface. Black Moon Lilith is quite active today.  She aspects Eris, and is in arguments with Pluto, Chiron and Mars suggesting emotional discord, power over/manipulative statements, wounding words and acts of aggression are the order of the day.  Or perhaps it will be the fallout from yesterday’s energy. Mars has a productive aspect with Pluto so you can get a great deal accomplished today in a practical and physical manner. Venus aspects Hygeia with a stressful punch in the gut so relationships and matters of the heart can cause illness, sadness or a sick stomach.  Sun’s semi-square to Saturn indicates this might have come out of your blindspot but it was also time to see it in a different manner or light.  As my friend Llorraine says “The Unconscious is NOT UNCONSCIOUS.   WE are unconscious to IT.  I think it is very humbling for the ego to recognize there is something far greater always operating inside of ourselves that connects to the universal.  The ego must learn to be in service to psyche or soul. “  Mars’ productive trine to Chiron suggests you can learn from the situation before you.  Pay attention to how your natal Chiron wants to respond, by sign and house.  Neptune’s parallel to Lilith suggests there is something in that whole subservient mythology that really works for you or them.  Understand it and you own it.  Nothing wrong with wanting a person to be subservient to you. Nothing wrong with finding someone who is dependent on you and responsive to your every whim, wish and need.  Nothing wrong with not wanting to be subservient any more.  Nothing wrong with no longer wanting to be responsive to every whim, wish and need of the other.  Part of what happens is we grow up and change what we want.  What we USED to want no longer works the way it used to.  Saturn in Libra has been asking you to look at the structure of your various relationships and adjust them for the next chapter of Saturn in Scorpio.  Don’t think it was unconscious.  It was the job of Saturn to help you get to where you are right now. Venus’ trine to Juno in Scorpio wants to find a partner who is nurturing AND an equal.  Trust the evolutionary process.  Allow yourself to burst the cattail.  Let the seeds of evolution and transformation spread out across the four corners, carried by the wind.  Once you see it, you can’t go back. Once the transformation has begun, you have to let it roll.  If parting from someone is part of the story of your cattail bursting, do so gently and with kindness to yourself and them. They helped you to grow to where you are now. Bless them and thank them. As Mary Oliver says  To live in this world you must be able to do three things:  to love what is mortal; to hold it against your bones knowing your own life depends on it; and, when the time comes to let it go, to let it go. Mercury squares Black Moon Lilith ~ review dependence and independence, servant and master, student and teacher in your own mind.  We know the story from Adam’s point of view.  What is Lilith’s point of view?  And why?  She is silent in the matter but as we know, there are three sides to a story, yours, theirs and the middle. Seek to understand the other person’s point of view before you walk away.  Mars joins with Black Moon Lilith. Harness the energy of Mars to help Lilith make her decision about what to do. Mars is at 6:42 Scorpio.

Mars day Tuesday September 4 find Moon in Aries in the Morning, void and entering stable Taurus to wrap up, with a lovely trine to the Sun, the energy of the next few days. It is time to emotionally stabilized Saturn in Libra with that Taurus Moon. For the last month or so, Venus in Cancer has taken us through the entire zodiac of possible emotions in a kind of cosmic flashback to our lives.  We’ve seen how we interconnect the stories.  We understand how we select the same energy over and over. Mars has a psychologically adjusting aspect to both Uranus and Pallas today allowing you to see, via pattern recognition and electric shocks of lightening to your system, something you completely missed before. It is the AhHa moment Saturn wants you to see to get you ready for his journey through Scorpio.  It can come in a dream too. The thing to remember about deep seated patterns is we have them for a reason.  They are described in our chart.  We need to learn to understand their source. They can even be from previous lives, acting as guardians in this life.  “The Unconscious is NOT UNCONSCIOUS.   WE are unconscious to IT”.  Taking action to work with deep seated unconscious patterns is part of what our Saturn in Scorpio journey will be about.  Unconscious patterns exist for a reason. They serve a purpose. So don’t hate them. Just take some time over the next few days to understand why you have them.  Mercury’s got an aspect of brilliance to the creative energy of Ceres and how you nurture yourself ~ read new things, think new thought, give your mind permission to shift things. My friend Mark suggests rearranging the books on your shelves to shift how you look at ideas.  Or even better, re-read some of the literature you found so inspirational when younger.  I dug out my Hermann Hesse book, Narcissus and Goldmund to re-read it while on the beach.  As I remembered, it artfully and poignantly demonstrated one of the central conflicts of all human life: the struggle between the intellect and the emotions.  Around Noon, Venus sextiles Admetos offering closure on a situation that has been unresolved.  Close it up and set a new direction for it for a while. It is still in a state of indecision.  So go forward a bit. Mercury’s trine to Pluto and opposition to Chiron reminds us of how pure motives come when we stand in a heart place.  Last week, while on Fire Island, we left the house to discover two young boys helping a young deer find food.  Deer are like dogs on Fire Island ~ all over the place and willing to be petted and fed.  They were young men at their very best ~ helping the deer break into the garbage can, ripping the trash bag open, retrieving and holding out an empty tray of lasagna for the deer to lick. “The deer is hungry,” one boy explained to us. The other one added, “My dog died.  He got old and couldn’t breathe anymore.”   There is an opportunity today to stand in a heart place and relate with pure heart motives…. Take the universe up on its offer.  Even if you find yourself in a place of loss, connect to your heart and stand there.  Mercury inconjunct to Uranus offers the opportunity to heal from a difficult situation through speaking a truth even if it might be hurtful.  But if you are speaking words deliberately to hurt the other, they will bounce back on you with both Pallas and Uranus in Aries, breathing fire. Sun has an aspect of choice with the Nodes of Fate by Declination.  Are you in or out?  The turning point that all the work of Saturn in Libra has been for has finally arrived.  Make sure your ego is in service to your divine path as defined by your Sun.  The cattails are bursting!  Mars is 7:21 Scorpio

Wednesday Mercury’s day September 5 finds Moon in Taurus with a lovely and productive closing aspect of a trine to the Sun. Uranus links up with Pallas so you see patterns in your life in away you never did before. It is a cosmic Ah HA! Moment.  Here comes your Ah HA! And it might even be through a dream or story told to you by another.  Mercury’s sextile to Mars is good for communications and ideas even if you are not sure you want to talk to the other person right now.  It is a productive aspect so stay focused on what you want.   Saturn’s biquintile to Lilith offers us a new way to see relationships without subservience being needed in them for one person or the other to feel okay about themselves.  When a service is freely given, it isn’t about being a servant to the other person.  It is a gift, an offering, and Virgo at her best in caretaking mode.  Libra helps us understand that all exchanges, good, bad, indifferent, overpaid or free are actually relationships.  Valuing the exchange, often with money, is what we do but it is ACTUALLY about the exchange and how it is conducted. Over dinner on Fire Island last week, Llorraine and I decided to share our food. We ordered a pasta dish that was bad.  Really bad. When the waitress came over, Llorraine said the pasta was bad. The waitress, in that way waitresses have, acknowledged that “Yes, the pasta is bad.”  Then she looked inquiring at me.  I nodded my agreement that the pasta was pretty bad.  We hadn’t asked her about it before ordering. LLorraine said, “We’ll pay for it. Please, can you take it away?”  The waitress came back later and said “I am not going to charge you for the pasta.”  When we reiterated we’d be happy to pay for it, she said “No, I took the pasta off BECAUSE you said you WOULD pay for it.”  So we gave her what we would have paid for the pasta as extra tip.  Service.  Relationship.  And up next we get to explore the value of both in our lives.  Venus works with the Nodes of Fate midday to help us clarify what we want to hang onto and release. What we want to nurture. What we want to let fall, gently, or please be taken away.  Change up the ideas in your head to help support the patterns that are emerging and asking to be recognized. Mars is 8:01 Scorpio

Jupiter’s day Thursday September 6 find a lovely, all day long, void moon in Taurus. Kick back, relax and dream.  Venus enters Leo late morning offering us an opportunity to stand in our heart place for the rest of the month as she wraps up her two year run of ruling of Saturn in Libra.  Look to your Sun and hear him start to speak about what your soul is looking for.  Past relationships got you to this moment. Stand in the truth of your heart and look forward to your vision of the future.  And if that is hard, if the vision is unclear, or there are still unresolved matters, stand with your heart in your hand and appeal to Venus and Saturn for what you would like.   Pluto finally sextiles Chiron ~ back to the image of those young boys helping to feed the hungry deer. Neither Llorraine or I had the heart to say to them, “The deer will be okay.  He actually eats grass.”  We just marveled at their gentle kindness. Be gentle and kind today.  Changes around your home are distinctly possible and encouraged. Get a different perspective on how you live based on looking at your surroundings. What do they say about you? Mars has a gift of brilliance with Jupiter midday so take action on that great idea~ or at least write it down to take action on later.  Health matters can take a sudden turn for the worse so get to the doctor without fooling around. Neptune’s square to Black Moon Lilith offers us freedom from our illusions about relationships that are inherently unbalanced. Mars is 8:40 Scorpio

Venus’ day Friday September 7 find Moon in Gemini with a story to tell as she trines Saturn in Libra with her closing aspect. So tell yourself the story that you’ve learned while Saturn went through Libra.  Tell it funny, tell it witty, tell it charming.  Use the Gemini energy to reframe the sad parts.  As Nora Ephron wrote at the end of Heartburn: Because if I tell the story, I control the version. Because if I tell the story, I can make you laugh, and I would rather have you laugh at me than feel sorry for me.  Because if I tell the story it doesn’t hurt so much.  Because if I tell the story,  I can get on with it.  Pluto has a biquintile with Black Moon Lilith ~ work the energy of transformation and change to make yourself the hero or heroine of your journey. Thank your supporters and your adversaries ~ both helped you become who you are today.  Mercury’s sesquiquadrate to Saturn offers a twist in the story.  Mars links up with Poseidon at 9:31 so emotions can well up very profoundly, seemingly out of nowhere.  This is an enormous release energy ~ it is temporary and not going to last for long. But it can feel like you are drowning.  Again no killing yourself or other people ~ these are temporary transits. Venus works with the Black Moon Lilith energy to clarify what is desired in relationships. Sun’s square to Jupiter can add a bit of overdoing, slightly manic energy to the mix.  Venus works with Chiron, gently, to point out that the purpose of relationships ~ at least the good ones ~ is to find a safe place to figure out and work with our own soul wounds while being supported by the other. If they are not kind or damage your soul, it is probably not a good place for you to be pulling out your soul and working on it.  Pluto’s square to Pallas offers us a deeper understanding of what we want and how we want to transform our patterns.  We can change entrenched patterns given the desire and will combine.  Juno’s opposition to Admetos suggests partnerships can be permanently altered or end today.  Venus’ closing adjusting aspect to Neptune says, “Yes it is sad but you are going to be okay.”  They are who they are. You are who you are.  Mars is 9:20 Scorpio

Saturn’s day Saturday September 8 Moon in Gemini has lovely closing aspects to Saturn and supports expanding your understanding and ability to see two truths at the same time. You have the opportunity to hold simultaneous versions of reality that appear contradictory. People are complicated ~ they can be multidimensional and seem to take contradictory positions on matters.  Black Moon Lilith, moving retrograde, leaves Gemini and enters Taurus, getting ready to join up with the South Node of Fate and release her energy into it. Sun has a brilliant idea for partnership with Juno at 28 Scorpio. At the same time, Juno is approaching the North Node of Scorpio who she joins up with over the next few days. We are simultaneously going to be releasing and connecting with two of the more powerful and misunderstood feminine energies. Our Lilith is where we refuse to be subservient while our Juno seeks to create a united and committed partnership even if partner is unfaithful. How can these simultaneous realities exist together? Today we will struggle with similar multidimensional yet contrasting realities. In a BDSM relationship, the slave “controls” by their acquiescence and apparent servitude what actually happens.  How can they be both the slave and control the action? It appears contradictory yet it happens. At the same time, it doesn’t quite make sense. As Black Moon Lilith moves toward her union with the South Node of Fate, and makes oodles of aspects today, we’ll be working on figuring out our relationship dynamics between servitude and dominance. Sun is inspired by his angry and jealous reaction to Eris, the goddess of discord. How can anger inspire? Yet anger does, each and every day.  How can you fight with someone and yet get back together with them?  Mercury’s square to Jupiter in Gemini offers us several versions of reality. Choose the one that appeals to you most.  Sun joins with Black Moon Lilith right before she dives into the South Node of karmic release ~ can you figure out how to work with those contradictory relationships in your life?  Or must you let them go? Mars is 10:00 Scorpio.

Sunday Sun’s day September 9 Moon is void in the morning and enters Cancer with a harsh closing aspect to Saturn. It is a couple of days of emotional choice for the ego versus feeling state in each chart. Listen to your inner wisdom on this one.  Your heart knows what it wants to do.  So give yourself permission to do it even if you could not EVER explain it to your friends or family.  Mercury comes up with a way to juggle the seemingly opposite positions. Juno finds she can’t take it a moment more.  If you find yourself in a similar spot, take some space and allow your chart to look, carefully, at what is going. Moon of course will be going through the gauntlet of Pluto and Uranus on Monday. But today, she has a lovely aspect to Neptune inspiring her vision of what she wants for herself. Listen to your inner wisdom. You can have inspired ideas today so make sure to note them and write them down. Mars’ sesquiquadrate to Ceres asks why we always have to kill off that which nurtures us?  Where does that anger come from?  Mercury’s inspired by the whispers in his ear from Juno and the Nodes of Fate.  Listen closely.  What is the multidimensional reality bursting like cattails in your life?  Mars connects with Neptune by declination, receiving solid inspiration for his upcoming journey. And a sadness can dissipate or dissolve today. Don’t be afraid to speak your truth. Mars is 10:40 Scorpio.
