Weekly Weather September 10, 2007

First up, ground yourself, settle down, relax and take a couple of deep breaths to finish up emotionally the week that ended. Over the past 8 days or so, Saturn and Mercury changed signs, Pluto and Venus stationed and turned direct and Mars stirred up trouble with Neptune and Uranus. AND, don’t forget that the Sun and Uranus were having a dance, (or stand off) of consciousness about a situation(s) in your life as they opposed each other by both declination and zodiac. So with Sun and Uranus combined with all the other stuff going on you felt some thing or saw some thing or learned some thing or heard some thing very important to your future. It might not have been a pleasant “some thing”. However, it WAS a true “some thing”. So, now you get to deal with the “some thing” situation going forward. It is the left overs from Saturn in Leo. And, of course, now that Saturn is in a new sign, you’ll get to do new stuff too ~ Virgo stuff!

But first a few more moments on the old Leo stuff. As Saturn left Leo and the other planets all danced and swirled in the sky, the Leo stuff you didn’t quite get figured out while Saturn was in Leo reared its lion head and roared “Nope, not so fast! You missed this!” We are imperfect little critters. We don’t get it right all the time, try as we might. And even if we did get it right, the world moves us to the next level. We have to up our game. We will always have our foibles, follies and forget its that trip us up or cause us to question ourselves. That is part and parcel of living life. One of our imperfections (or maybe a couple) surfaced last week to remind us that even though we might have figured out all sorts of cool stuff while Saturn was wandering as a shining star through the constellation of Leo, that we missed something too.

My sister, Mary, and her husband, Bruce, were in town for a visit. One day, we spent 9 hours watching matches at the US Open. Bruce played tennis in college while Mary coaches Division 1 Women’s College Basketball. They see sports and athletes on a WHOLE different level than I do. They noticed all sorts of stuff, the shifts in strategy, strokes, game approach and even making the poor guy with leg cramps run more. I said, “You mean he did that on purpose?” They looked at me like I was an idiot! That is what last week was for. To make you realize where you are still not quite skilled yet. You learned where you are still a bit of an idiot ~ and I say that as a compliment. We all were idiots in some part of our life last week.

Here we were watching world class tennis. I watched it like a tourist tennis-ista! Mary and Bruce watched it as knowledgeable athletic observers and former players. The people actually PLAYING the tennis game were in the midst of executing FIVE continuous hours of hard, strenuous play (or work) in physical, mental and psychological skills, acquired over years and years of work, as well as honed through many thousands of hours of practice. My level was not “less than” either Mary or Bruce’s or any of the players’ levels. It was MY level! My very own level, no more or no less. It wasn’t right or wrong, bad or good, less or more. It was my level. In fact, I knew more than the waitress who served us our midnight pizzas and said, “Oh, you were at the US Open. Isn’t that tennis?” after she noticed our sun burned noses.

Last week as all those aspects took place, you learned your place in the relative scheme of the universe, no more or no less. It isn’t right or wrong. It is. That’s your level. You can change your level if you want to. Or leave your level right where it is if you don’t want to change your level. You are no more or no less. You are where you are. You are your level. Saturn pointed your level out to you last week!

The problem comes when folks look at us like we should be more (or less) than we are. Or when we look at ourselves like we should be more (we often skip the less part) than we currently are. We judge ourselves and find our selves wanting. Yep. We will always be able to find folks “better” than us. We will always be “better” than some folks. Yep. We will always be able to find folks “less” than us. We will always be “less” than some folks. Is that where you want to spend your energy while you are here on earth? Comparing yourself? (Hint: please answer NO to the question!)

If you do that comparing thing for the next two years, you are going to have a very difficult time while Saturn is in Virgo! No comparing! Virgo Saturn assesses. You will be “found wanting” if you compare and criticize yourself. (We tend to NOT notice where we are better while planets are in Virgo). The true purpose of Saturn in Virgo is to assess. Assess with a balanced eye. Assess with a level of developed skill. Assess with an impartial evaluation. Know your level. Know your strengths. Know your weaknesses. Assess is not criticize. But on a bad day, criticize is what happens.

Last week had a very big element of criticize involved in it in addition to all the other stuff we were dealing with. Put the criticize part down in the corner over there. Breathe. Focus on the now. Focus on the moment. Focus on the experience. Focus on the present. Focus on what you are trying to accomplish. Stop comparing yourself. Assess where you are. Move to address what you’ve assessed as needing your attention. No less than. Address what needs attention. If you can’t say something nice to yourself, keep your mouth closed. If your brain is shouting criticisms at you, tell it to go take a nap while you deal with the matter at hand. No criticism. You are where you are. Forward. And thus we learn what Saturn in Leo wanted to teach us.

The week ahead features a solar eclipse, or a new moon eclipse, at 18 Virgo. Our friends in South America and down on Antarctica will be able to see the Sun get eaten up by the dragon in the heavens. We’ll just feel the eclipse energy echoing in our mutable houses in our charts. While Saturn entered Virgo over a week ago, we officially “begin” our Saturn in Virgo journey under this new moon. Last week, there were so many planetary energies fighting for our attention and energy or criticizing us. It was way too disorienting for most of us to settle into our new Virgo in Saturn routines. This week is when I think we’ll officially start Saturn in Virgo. New Moons start things. This is our first new moon in Virgo. We’ll find out what the journey of the next few years will be. We’ll learn to assess what Saturn in Virgo is about for us.

This New Moon is profound as it invokes the entire set of mutable signs via the mutable cross it ignites and falls into the middle of. Mercury, in charge of two of the mutable signs, Gemini and Virgo is the spot to watch in your chart. Mercury is in charge of the New Moon. Mercury is in charge of the Sun. Mercury is in Libra, ruled by that lovely Venus going direct in the latter degrees of Leo. So our Leo loves and joys will move forward under Venus’ guidance on this eclipse and new moon to create the next phase of our cosmic path. Listen to the love in your heart. Ignore the fear. Listen to the love. Watch for whether Saturn is signaling it is time to go. He is signaling but you have a few more moments at the Leo party because Venus is still in Leo!

Mercury is ahead of all the Virgo and Leo planets, acting as a bit of a scout. Mercury in Libra has a balanced quality about him ~ a seeker of finding the level. That is why it is so important that you understand your level from last week. While I am not a big tennis person, I can swing a racket. I know how to keep score and can follow the game. I love going to the net while playing doubles and smashing a winning point when I play tennis with my middle-aged women‘s group. But PLAY FIVE HOURS
of world class tennis? One h
our every now and then, followed by dinner, wine and chatter is more than enough for me. Doubles, not singles. I enjoyed watching the matches last week. I wasn’t a person that had a bonded photograph pass to watch two weeks of tennis. Or the referees who called the games. Or the sportscasters. Or the ball kids. Or the players competing for their ranking in the world and prize money. Or my sister and her husband. A day of tennis watching was more than enough for me. That is my level. Now, I can and do work with astrology five hours (or more) a day, every day. That is my level too!

So what is your level? Where are you? What do you know now after last week’s wrap up of Leo in Saturn? No use in comparing yourself to others. Compare yourself to you. What is your level? What is your assessment of your skill or level? What do you want to change, if anything, about your skill or level? Do the assessing process in all the areas of your life. Write down a list of you. What areas are working well? What areas need improvement? What areas are struggling to move up a level ~ to up your cosmic tennis game so to speak? What areas are going to be running into world class competition and getting a good run for their money? What areas are feeling a bit defeated?

Saturn is going to be affecting every area of your chart in a new way now that he is in Virgo. The fixed signs are going to catch a break for a couple of years as Saturn moved out of Leo. All the mutable signs, Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces are going to have to work VERY hard as Saturn pushes on them to grow, change and take appropriate action by conjunction, square or opposition. Particularly getting their game elevated will be the Virgo planets. Planets in Taurus and Capricorn will harvest goodies as Saturn sends them rewards for the work they have accomplished via the earth trine. Aquarius and Aries planets will have to adjust their lives as Saturn requests they change and evolve their games into their next levels ~ both physically and psychologically. Cancer and Scorpio planets need to get to work to help Saturn’s journey through Virgo ~ gotta soften all that mutable earth and make it fertile mud to grow good things. And our Leo and Libra planets move into our chart’s blind spot ~ kind of unseen but still there if we want to pull out or change lanes as the focus of Saturn moves into Virgo‘s part of the zodiac. Take a few moments this week, under the new moon. Assess your life. See how the areas of your life and chart match the new energies heading at them via Saturn’s shift of signs. Saturn is in Virgo until October 2009. Get ready to settle into his energy soon!

Monday, is a very busy day ~ especially for emotional matters. Mercury will give you all sorts of information that you may not have time to process. Just note it and move on. Venus wants to kick Uranus out of her life if they don’t do something already! It is a great day for a break up of a romance, love, money issues or for financial matters to be resolved, once and for all with a bit of a push of energy. Mercury will be asking you to adjust your strategy and get it over and done with! Do it. Take action. Until Venus gets out of her shadow it isn’t actually finished (October 11th) but ultimatums are going to be flying around today! Virgo moon between Saturn and Jupiter is irritated!

Tuesday, the new moon eclipse arrives, seeding, creating and illuminating our upcoming Saturn in Virgo journey! Make your assessment list. Read the new moon article on this site for more information on how to deal with the energy of the eclipse and our first new moon in Virgo. Sun has an opposition by declination to Mercury in Libra so expect illumination, even if it is a bit in your face or oppositional in nature. No, you aren’t perfect. And you never will be. Perfect ain’t part of the human job description. What is your level? Assess your level. Can you change your level? Do you want to change your level?

Wednesday, Mercury trines Chiron. One of the US Open tennis announcers said about the number 1 ranked player in the world, “Well, I think the only flaw in his game is that he is too humble!” Mercury’s trine to Chiron says what ever flaw of yours is pointed out today is a bit more sensitive than that criticism. Take it as part of your level assessment. Add the criticism ~ reframe it first as assessment ~ to your pile and list. Sun has an adjusting aspect to Neptune. Too humble eh? By whose definition? Heck, he is the number one ranked player in the world. People say he is probably the best tennis player the world has ever seen! Humble? What is the criticism you heard today?

Thursday, Mercury has a sextile to Jupiter. Let’s evaluate that criticism with the vision of Jupiter in Sagittarius talking to Mercury balance seeking in Libra. It WAS a bit over the top. Jupiter will do that to you. If you are happy being humble, clap your hands! If you are happy and you know it, clap your hands! If you are happy with the area that was criticized in your life, clap your hands! If you are happy and you know it, then your life will surely show it. If you want to change it ~ and remember the operative word there is YOU, put it on the list of things to get to one of these days. Sun and Saturn both are aspecting Juno in Scorpio ~ by declination and sextile ~ combine the energies before you. Find your level. Know your level. The guy is the best tennis player in the history of the world but he is too humble? Clap your hands!

Friday, Mercury is VERY busy by declination. If you are happy and you know it then your life will surely show it. Move toward what makes you happy, regardless of the words of others, good or bad words, criticisms or praises. So often we see how we get caught on the bad stuff. We fail to notice the good stuff or how we get caught on it too. Notice the good stuff today. Notice the bad stuff today. Make assessments. Mercury asks you to find a balance. Make it an “AND” kind of day.

The guy is the best tennis player in the history of the world AND he is too humble! Clap your hands!

Saturn’s day Pallas joins with the north node of destiny. Pallas is moving through Pisces. Can you see how the strategy of criticisms have contributed to your life’s development and helped shape you? The criticisms caused you to become who you are. Shame is one of Saturn’s words. Criticisms often combine with Shame to make us conform, shrink, be humble or sit back on our skills. Now I want you to think back on the previous shame filled incidents and reframe them to help you find your true level. I could have been embarrassed (and, in truth I WAS a bit red faced) when my sister and her husband looked at me like I was an idiot for my “You mean he did that on purpose?” comment. They didn’t mean to shame me! If fact they actually looked surprised by my remark. I am the one who put the idiot spin on it. It never occurred to them that anyone would think he HADN’T done it on purpose. See how easy it is? Just reframe those situations! When you get a BUT make it an AND. Clap your hands!

Sunday, Uranus squares Vesta ~ pitch, pitch, pitches ~ tip, tip, and tip. Reframe those beliefs. Mercury has an adjusting aspect to Uranus. If you hold the exact same beliefs, you can’t move forward. Gotta change your mind to change your life. Gotta Change. Saturn is in Virgo. Mutable time! Change. And clap your hands! You got the early parts of your life to create the you standing before you in the mirror. All your experiences created you ~ the good and bad both had their roles. Take them all as experiences! Stop judging them or criticizing them. Assess their relative importance in your life to determine your current level. Decide what you want to do about the level you are operating on. Yes, it is as easy as that. Clap your hands!

Mundane: Conservative, Republican Senator Craig of Idaho was arrested on June 11, 2007 for soliciting gay sex in an airport bathroom. Hi

s story surfaces now, as the eclipses echo the Uranus station from mid-June. One of the beauties of Saturn in Leo moving into Virgo is the recurring issue of accountability and assessment after the excesses and rules-don’t- apply-to-me Leo. He has been dogged by ~ and denied ~ rumors of being gay for 25 years. (Sounds like a Saturn cycle to me!)

Senator Craig is an openly anti-gay rights speaking and voting ‘family values’ conservative while publicly married yet sexually closeted fellow who cruised a known gay hookup place and tapped feet under a bathroom stall. As reported in Newsweek, ‘Senator Craig was combative and refused to acknowledge he was engaging in the Morse code of gay cruising. “You solicited me. I am not gay. I don’t do these kinds of things.” After disagreeing over the details of the incident with the arresting officer, Craig said “You saw something that didn’t happen.”’ Saturn in Leo, rears his lion mane with another version of the emperor’s new clothes ~ deny what was seen.

The police officer was described as sincere, adept, dedicated, laid-back, humble, hard working and soft-spoken. Virgo words! ‘“You’re sitting here lying to a police officer.” The officer abruptly ended the interview. “Embarrassing, embarrassing. No wonder why we’re going down the tubes.”’ Virgo Saturn in Virgo rules the civil servants, police officers among our finest civil servants. The transition of Saturn has taken place!

I find it fascinating that Senator Arlen Spector, is urging Senator Craig to stay in his Senate seat rather than resign September 30. It WAS a proposed consensual act between two grown up adults. The location of the consensual act is what got him into trouble ~ airport bathrooms aren’t the best place for that kind of thing.

Senator Craig voted AGAINST the warrantless wiretapping bill recently approved before Congress went on vacation which was signed into law by President Bush. President Bush has called Senator Craig a traitor for his opposition to wiretaps and his belief that our constitution trumps a unitary president. I wonder if Senator Craig’s phone was warrantlessly wire-tapped by the NSA (or who ever does these things) to find out about a misdemeanor plea that the Senator failed to tell his own wife about. The timing works for me.

Expect more adjustments by Saturn in Virgo via exits stage right of the kings, Senators, rulers and leaders of our world. Excesses during their reigns will be addressed by Saturn in Virgo. Claims of moral, or any other kind of superiority will be hard pressed while Saturn is in Virgo.
