The eclipses are STILL HERE! The eclipses are STILL HERE!
Our week ahead is full of choices, new ways of looking at things, cosmic break throughs, emotional break downs, break ups, break ins, transformations, power awareness, chaos and completely, amazingly inspired ideas. Change. Change. Change. Evolve. Evolve. Evolve. See yourself differently. See your world differently.
Maureen writes: “As the eclipses affect our lives!” That should be the next soap opera and all us astrology students can watch and see how it plays out on TV to apply it to our own lives! Now that would be a TV show!
The Week’s Planetary Highlights ~ The eclipses are STILL here! Uranus Pluto square number 3 of7 combined with a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse at 4 Gemini Sagittarius. Sun enters Gemini so we have more choices! Expect to be surprised by week’s end. Time to change how you see yourself!

Void Moons in the Week Ahead: When the Moon is Void, it is wise to avoid making important decisions as they tend to be unrealistic, and subject to false starts, errors or unexpected hassles. Avoid being concerned with things beyond your spiritual center. It is time for subjective, spiritual and non-materialistic concerns. Kick back, let life flow and center yourself. Connect into your essential oneness with the Universal Forces.

Some weeks there are so many things going on in the heavens, it is difficult to sum them up in a column. That is the story this week. I’ve been working on it and unable to “get” what I want down into words. (It could also be that Neptune transit I am having).
So your job this week is to pay attention and go with the flow. Resist the temptation to “solve” the situations before you. Watch what happens. Gather data about what is going on or being experienced. Sit quietly. Meditate. Take care of yourself. Be kind to others. The energy this week is exceptionally volatile and crazy.
We have two major astrological events packed into one week and linked in time and space. Whenever that happens, we have a very volatile energy flowing above our heads and reflected down here on earth below.
First is the Uranus/Pluto square ~ which takes place on Monday. It is the third of seven squares between these two big malefic planets in the heavens. The square between them is asking us to evolve and offering revolution (notice that evolution is part of the revolutions word) to our hearts. Revolutions are messy. Evolutions can be messy too. The Uranus/Pluto square appears to have shown up at the tornados that visited the middle of the USA yesterday. It will show up somewhere in your chart too… in the Aries and Capricorn houses and affecting any planets at 11 degrees. Those parts of your life want and need to evolve.
Maureen writes: Fourteen years ago I covered the Tornado outside Oklahoma City for the American Red Cross, I’ve never forgotten an interview I did where a young man looked at me and said “you know the translation of tornado is the “finger of God” – thought of you last night when I saw the devastation. God reached down again
The second big astrological event is the Full Moon Total Eclipse at Gemini/Sagittarius on late Friday night /early Saturday morning. It will ask us to change how we look at ourselves. Full Moons release energy. This eclipse is releasing a previous eclipse, the one that took place on November 25, 2011. Back then a story started. Now it culminates. Part two of the story was August 24, 2012 on the opening quarter of Virgo Sun, Sagittarius Moon. The stories we tell ourselves about ourselves are critical to who we are and what we become.
Our self-story is under challenge right now. We are being asked to revise, based on all the work we’ve done since December 2012 through April 2013, our self story. Our self story isn’t WRONG, it has just changed. And when we change our story we change our lives. When we change how we describe ourselves, we see ourselves differently.
Watching the Dove YouTube below is a good place to start.
So often we have a concept of ourselves that is old, outdated, wrong spirited, harsh or overly negative. This week our self-concepts will be challenged. Someone might challenge the concept of who you think you are. Or you might find yourself challenging someone else about their concept of you or of themselves. Obviously, challenging the other person is not your job unless they are a minor child you are responsible for. And, on this eclipse, it is probably not a good idea to go challenging folks! Besides, they are responsible for their OWN growth and their OWN path.
However, if you can, challenge yourself about your own beliefs about you. You CAN change yourself. You are not responsible for changing anyone else but you. It is a week of change.
I suggest you call a few people who love you and ask them to describe you. Record the conversation or take notes about it. Similar to the Dove story above, notice how others see you versus how you see yourself. Next, think back on how you saw yourself when you were 12, 24, 36, 48, 60 etc. Or think back in 12 year increments from now. The twelve year cycle is correlated to the ages of human maturation and mark passages when we travel through cross roads of positive development in how we affect and are effected by the world we live in. Think back on the changes wrought in your being through each of those 12 year bands. The Moon in Sagittarius points us toward seeing our personal evolution and how we fit in the collective or move through it.
The Sabian image for the Eclipsed Full Moon in Sagittarius is AN OLD OWL PERCHED HIGH UP IN A TREE. Lynda Hill’s interpretation of it is:
Commentary: ‘An Old Owl is Perched High Up in a Tree’. With the ability to twist his head right around, the wise ‘Old Owl’ sees all, seeing what others miss, and keeps very quiet whilst digesting all that is going on. Even though they appear to sit quietly, the ‘Owl’ is able to quickly snare its prey in the flash of a moment. The ‘Old Owl’ pictured here is ‘Perched High Up in a Tree’; he is far from the tumult at ground level and is out of reach from most predators. He can observe wide vistas below him and watch for prey.
Oracle: This Symbol can indicate a degree of insomnia caused by an active mind and thinking too much at bedtime. What are the hidden elements of the situation facing you? If you sit quietly apart from things for a while and really endeavor to see “in the dark”, you’ll reveal things that previously only lurked in the shadows. You may need to consult with aged wisdom, either from within yourself or from the outside world. Knowledge of any type, but particularly knowledge garnered from books can lead you to seeing farther into very difficult situations where everything seems dark, and sometimes forbidding. The ‘Owl’ may look sleepy and sedate but it can move very fast the minute is sees what it wants – it can move with surprising swiftness to catch its objective. Emulating this behavior can bring a certain solitude, and this may be just what is needed. However, a feeling of being high and remote can cause alienation, so be watchful for when its time to start actively participating in life again.
Keywords: Wisdom and strength. Evening contemplation. Keeping thoughts to oneself. A wise “sage” type of person. Nocturnal vision. Exalted wisdom. “Night owls”. Heightened sight and seeing. Being silent and alert for the slightest movement. The ability to see all around. The
Caution: Smug denial of available wisdom. Someone thinking they know it all. Not wanting to join in with others in fun activities. Acting old before their time. Excluding others as being frivolous and unknowing. Waiting for one’s prey.

Sun enters Gemini on Monday ~ offering us choices about who we are and what we can expect. We become a bit less dogmatic than we were last week. Be like a blade of grass ~ turn away, stay flexible, let yourself be pushed by the wind and bend with the air energy blowing over you. We have 30 days of flexibility and friskiness. Next week, after this harsh wind, the energy shifts and we can stand tall again. This week focus on being flexible.
The Sabian Images for the Gemini Sun is A RADICAL MAGAZINE OR PUBLICATION, ASKING FOR ACTION, DISPLAYS A SENSATIONAL FRONT PAGE. Lynda Hill’s interpretation of the symbol is:
Commentary: ‘A Radical Magazine or Publication’ is shown. It is ‘Asking For Action’ and ‘Displays a Sensational Front Page’. Sometimes, in order to be taken seriously or to be noticed, people need to do or say something rousing, radical or out of the ordinary. This can be even more necessary when there is a need, or a desire, to change things. As this is a ‘Radical Magazine’ it can lead to moves that are disruptive or even threatening to stability or security in some measure. There are probably some strong feelings that ‘Action’ needs to be taken – bear in mind, however, that the status quo can be very hard to awaken, change or shift. Further, the ‘Action’ that is being called for can lead to less than desirable outcomes. Events that unfold can be highly charged emotionally.
Oracle: You may be highly motivated for change, and in order to get the attention of those around you, will require radical and even abrasive action. This Symbol can equally be seen from the opposite view; maybe you are having difficulty with someone who is being noisy, disruptive, demanding or looking to cause change. Whichever, the issue will most likely be overblown and exaggerated in some way. There may be a lot of dramatic ‘Action’ and overreaction to what is said or done. There can be overreactions to things that currently seem threatening, but are probably just reflections of moments in time, and likely to pass before long. Someone may meet his or her match vocally. Attention seeking devices, such as the ‘Sensational Front Page’ should be used very carefully and never against anyone. Once everyone is paying attention there may need to be an effort to publicize a more reasonable perspective. Sometimes we overuse terms like “you never” and “that’s the last time I ever…” It is important to get past these exaggerated ‘Sensational’ words and look at why such large statements are thought necessary in the first place.
Keywords: Speaking one’s mind. Messages and news that awakes and shocks. The need for reform. Challenging outlooks. Breaking out of constraints. The media. Issues of propaganda. Headlines that promise more than they deliver. Revolutions. Social or emotional causes. Conspiracy theories. Printing presses. Publishing. Publicity. Gaining attention. Speaking one’s truth without fear of consequences.
The Caution: Being argumentative. Arousing others for selfish reasons. Distortions of the truth. Misinformation and disinformation. Getting the whole picture wrong. Exploitation of situations. Overstating messages. Biased information. Old and outworn news.

Hold our balance through the week ahead will be easier if we remember that the events before us are transits ~ not permanent ~ temporary and fast moving. Lots of people who have been hanging on delicately to life can depart this week. Many relationships shift in their structure ~ quite literally in the case of the tornados in the mid-west. Look at the news to see the symbolism in your life…
The first eclipse was the Boston Bombing and the explosion in Texas. The second eclipse was the three girls escaping and the building collapse in Bangladesh. This, the final eclipse starts with the tornado which blows through our chart and concludes with us seeing ourselves in a different way than we ever did before. Challenge your understanding of yourself. Take time to appreciate that you are a unique creation, here on planet earth. No one before you or after you will ever BE you… You are one of a kind. You are here to do something ~ you exist for a reason. Once we pass through this energy, we will all be clearer on why we are here and what we are here to do.
Let your true colors shine.
Monday Moon’s day May 20, 2013 Moon in Virgo in the morning and Libra in the afternoon. Both have lovely closing aspects of a trine to the Sun and Jupiter respectively so through Wednesday night we have connection that support our growth. Today is one of the more profound days on earth as Uranus squares Pluto, part three of seven. Today change wins over power… Pluto is going backwards and Uranus is direct so change wins. Mark Wolz makes the analogy of squares being like arm wrestling. Right now, Pluto and Uranus are arm wrestling and Pluto’s being bent back… abuse of power or power over is being challenged and not doing so good. Uranus, the planet of change and evolution is winning. Give yourself permission to dive into the mode of change and go for it. Uranus is supporting you breaking free. Dreams were toss and turn last night… and a busy, busy day followed. Venus square to Chiron suggests words that hurt are part of the story. You might not be seeing beloved in the same way you used to. Love is on the rocks. No worries… this is part of the process of reclaiming yourself for yourself. We often project ourselves into the beloved. They are our mirror. We are looking in the mirror we chose for ourselves. Don’t like the mirror? Change it up! Sun enters Gemini for 30 days of frisky, fun, flirty, indecisive energy… think the Scarecrow in the Wizard of Oz ~ you can take this road or that road. Both will get you there. Which road do you want to take. The Uranus Pluto square tonight and the harsh aspects that Mercury has can cause you to step back from a situation in dismay or horror or a profound realization. Realizations are awakenings. They help us move to the next place we need to go. Get ready to move.
Tuesday Mars day May 21, 2013 Moon in Libra has great closing aspects and offers a turning point in the week and your life. Moon stimulates and looks at the destruction from yesterday or last weeks’ energy. You have to partner with things to change them. Step in and offer your help to partner with the chaos before you. Ceres has supportive aspect to the Nodes of Fate… push for your dreams. Dreams that are NOT tied to the other person ~ push for the dreams that are YOUR dreams for YOURSELF. Pluto has a stressed aspect with Pallas suggesting you might not like the patterns you see. You can always change them. Late afternoon is supportive and fun ~ laughter even.
Wednesday Mercury’s day May 22, 2013 Moon is Void all day in Libra ~ take time to process what all you’ve seen and accomplished on this journey we call life. Do your self survey and call a few friends for their survey of you. Suggest it to them. See how you see yourself. See how others see you. Dreams have breakthroughs so watch what they tell you. Mercury’s square to Chiron echoes Venus’ square on Monday. Process the vision of who you are how you think about yourself. My metaphysical piano teacher Joseph encourages turning away and not feeding the negative thoughts. When you don’t feed them, they don’t grow. When you feed them, they grow. It totally works with how I play. When I sit and just let my hands play what my eyes see ~ I sound darn good and can play songs that I think are WAY past my level. (Joseph would tell me not to feed that “way past my level” thought.) When I start to think about my playing or fret or count or worry ~ whoosh, my piano skills fly out the window and clinkers abound. Again, it is a profound shift right into chaos…Let Mercury’s message to you help you heal thoughts you have about yourself. Mercury’s relationship to Zeus pushes writing and communication tasks past where they normally are. You might not be in the mood to connect and relate to new groups or people tonight. Or hang out with your tribe… it is a time for introspection.
Thursday, Jupiter’s day May 23 Moon in Scorpio has harsh closing aspects of an opposition to Mars… we can emotionally separate, depart or leave situations over the next few days. Venus and Mercury both have health and adjusting aspect to the Nodes of Fate so make sure to tell people that you love them and don’t part on harsh words. Today is a stressful day. Partnerships are arguing with how and why they want nurturing. There isn’t a right or wrong way but a need for adjustment. Changes around the home and hearth ~ including the body ~ are permanent. You can’t go back. Make sure to say how you would like to partner in the future ~ Venus and Juno are making plans for the future…. And you don’t have to do it like anyone you know… including your mother’s version. Permanent shifts take place with Uranus’ square to Vesta tonight that offer you a new direction and format going forward.
Friday Venus’ day May 24, 2013 Moon is void all day today encouraging you to process what went on over the past week. Moon enters Sagittarius in the early evening with a closing aspect of an opposition to Jupiter offering overdoing and excess for the next few days. Lots of messages in your dreams. Health matters improve. Things come to an end. Mercury and Venus meet up and offer a brief fun and laughter filled moments. Jupiter’s sextile to Eris encourages us to take our irritation and move it towards something productive in our lives. Tonight the Lunar Eclipse takes place 24 minutes after midnight on the east coast and earlier across the country. Go out and watch the Moon be eaten up by the Dragon in the sky ~ turning red ~ and then back to white. Actually, it is just the shadow of earth passing over the moon’s face but the dragon story makes more sense energetically!
Saturn’s day Saturday May 25, 2013 Moon in Sagittarius has an eclipse at 12:24 am EDT. Midday, plans change unexpectedly and offer you brief respite in what you are planning or thinking. Tonight Mars sesquiquadrates Pluto stimulating the Uranus Pluto square from Monday. Tough energy around evolution. Just breath and push through it.
Sunday Sun ‘s day May 26, 2013 Moon in Sagittarius is void most of the day and enters Capricorn with a lovely closing aspect of a trine to Mars at the end of the day. Sleep in and take advantage of the advanced dream state offered to you. Memorial Day weekend offers a solid energy of work and processing internally. Mercury has a sesquiquadrate to Saturn suggesting a bit of depression or anxiety. Health matters take a marked turn of improvement. You are feeling frisky and the worst is over. Sun’s square to Neptune offers a profound clearing energy… embrace the dualities… you see things you never saw before. Mars stimulates in a stressful way the Uranus aspect of the square to Pluto ~ evolution time is here. You might not want to be part of the group that you are a member of… take a time out. Give yourself some space. Venus has harsh aspects to Saturn encouraging you to take charge of your finances, money, love and connection life in a new way. You can’t do it the old way anymore. You are not the same person. Use the irritation to propel yourself forward. Don’t fight, Move toward what you want. It might not be what is in front of you!
