The goal of the week ahead, from the universe’s perspective, is consciousness. Kind of like waking up from our own little dream world, we get the bigger picture of what is going on before us. We see it. We go ah-ha! We MAY NOT LIKE WHAT WE SEE BUT WE NEED TO LOOK AT IT!! It is what the universe has been trying to get us to see since Saturn entered Leo. And, now, as Saturn bears down on Neptune in a final pass of their opposition, we are “getting it” as the clouds will clear and the reality of Saturn will be revealed.
When one looks at transits, they appear on three (or four) levels ~ physical, emotional, (intellectual) and spiritual. If we can get ourselves to understand what is going on from a spiritual viewpoint, it makes the rest of the process much easier. It tells us how to move through the process or experience successfully or with as much left intact and in place as is possible.
The intellectual area is the section of transits to watch out for because often our intellect is taken over by what we’ve heard or seen or been told by others or from old childhood messages that we are supposed to discard now. In other words, the intellect is NOT to be trusted in transits like these. It might, or more often might NOT, be working on or in your spirit and soul’s best interest. So put your intellect part down for the time being. Tell your intellect to be quiet and sit in the corner. Let’s focus on the spiritual, emotional and physical parts of the transit. They are a bit “truer” as guide posts for you, if that is the proper word. They are speaking to and about what you are to take care of during the last pass of Saturn to Neptune before it leaves Leo and the fixed signs for the next seven years.
First the emotions ~ lets focus on and find the fear thing. It is after all, where your Saturn is vibrating. One of Saturn’s key and biggest energy words is fear. Notice what you are afraid of. That is what you MUST do or face or deal with ~ in the Highest and purest SPIRITUAL AND PHYSICAL forms at this moment while the opposition is in place. Use the emotions to point out what it is you need to face. Then, put the emotions over in the same pile as the intellect. The two of them are NOT going to be acting in your best interest. Tell them to sit in the corner and play together quietly. You, your spirit and physical side of the transit have to face or deal with or move towards the higher purpose of your spirit and soul‘s reason for incarnating.
You do NOT want to move toward whatever your intellect and FEARFUL emotions are telling you to do! Your intellect can be, and probably IS, lying to you! It is telling you LIES!!! Mercury is stationing in Cancer! The Sun is in Gemini! The Moon is in Cancer ~ OUT OF BOUNDS! In other words, your emotions are WAY out of control and not responding to the “norms” of the situation. The emotions and the intellect are reacting in fear. The emotions are in charge of Mercury, or your intellect. The two of them are planning to run away with you and cause a bunch of problems if you are not careful.
You have to sit them down and tell them to stop it right now. Mercury, as the ruler of both the intellect and, right now, the Sun in Gemini, are NOT behaving in an intelligent manner. Mercury is completely controlled by the MOON’s security needs or emotional issues. The Moon’s issues are WAY OUT OF BOUNDS. As a result your vision (Sun) and your intellect (Mercury) are both not seeing the situation clearly or properly! The Moon, crazed and out of bounds old Luna, is in charge. You are a bit of a lunartic about the issue before you. Yes, you DO have a history and understanding about it. But things can be different. You are lying to yourself (and probably to others) about it on some level. If you don’t look at it without the illusion of your intellect’s chatter in your ear and those emotions raging in your being, you are going to make a false or incorrect choice FOR YOUR SOUL AND SPIRIT! It is about the spiritual lesson. The situation before you is caused by actions taken or not taken based on situations your soul might have ducked on. Face it and deal with it. Be brave. Do your Saturn.
So what to do? Well use the emotions to isolate what you are most afraid of. Tell your intellect to shut up. Tell your intellect and emotions to go out and swing on the swing set together in the back yard as you, Spirit and Physical have work to do. Then work toward that fear energy in a PHYSICAL manner. Work toward it as if the worst was NOT going to happen! Because, of course, you are afraid your worst fear is going to happen.
So do you want to give your worst fear any more energy? No! The reason the situation before you IS before you IS because it WAS your worst FEAR! That is how you got yourself in the mess you are in. You acted in the manner you did so as to make what is happening now happen.
I know, that paragraphs above needs to be read a few times before they sinks in. So re-read it or them. No judgments here. You are not a bad person. You are a person, just like the rest of us are. This happens to be your black beast. You can turn to face your black beast or let it continue to chase you for the next bunch of years. What do you want? I can tell you, promise you actually, if you turn to face it, you will find out it is actually a very nice black beast. It is your Saturn. He wants the best for your SOUL, which as far as HE is concerned, is the important part as that is your destiny and karma.
Essentially, we are put here on earth to learn about and how to handle our worse fears. Yep. I know, Negative astrology! But, we can reframe that “worse fears” to make it sound better. We are here to learn how to use our Saturn in a productive manner. Saturn can often represent stuff we are afraid of. We can learn to use our Saturn in a productive or and unproductive manner. We can do it willingly or UNWILLINGLY. You have to do your Saturn. Do your Saturn right now. Do it as hard and as best as you can.
I remember once having a conversation about date rape with a very strange man on our first (and only) blind date. He said he didn’t believe there was such a thing as date rape ~ all rapes required a struggle and violence and knives or some such. I countered his remark with a tale of swirlies from my college years. I went to a Catholic college that had students from single-sexed Catholic high schools. As a result, our abilities to integrate easily with the opposite sex were not particularly developed and, often, quite juvenile on a bad day. When a fellow would fall for a girl, the other fellows on his dorm floor would hold a kangaroo court. People would testify. The jury would listen to the evidence. They would find him guilty and proclaim him “pussy whipped” ~ or found guilty of the crime of liking a girl. The executioner would step forward to execute the punishment. One never got off in kangaroo court! The penalty was a swirlie ~ sticking the person’s head in the toilet and flushing it ~ an execution of sorts if you think about it. There were loaded and plain swirlies. With a bit of imagination, you can figure out what a loaded swirlie was.
I remember talking to Joe after he was kangaroo courted for liking and dating Pattie, a friend of mine. He had been found guilty. He was swirlied. I asked if he had struggled to escape the swirlie. He said no, sometimes you had to go through it. If you struggled, it was inevitably worse (a dorm floor full of men holding your head in the toilet bowl and flushing it ~ pretty hard to escape that one!). Besides struggling or running often produced or resulted in a loaded swirlie when they caught you. So, I explained to the blind date guy, date rape was like a swirlie, loaded or unloaded. It was still a swirlie. Struggle or no struggle, rape is rape. We didn’t have another date.
The universe might be about to give you a swirlie. Be brave. Joe lo
ved Pattie. Joe took his swi
rlie in stride from those stupid, juvenile fellows on his dorm floor. Joe knew what he wanted. He ran into an illogical kangaroo court of a Saturn/ Neptune experience. He could have renounced his girlfriend, Pattie, stopped seeing her and (possibly) avoided the swirlie. Instead, he announced that “Yes, Pattie is my girl friend!!” He was found guilty. Joe was swirlied. He got through it even it if was an unpleasant experience.
Take your swirlie in stride. You are going to be fine on the other side. And you’ll get what you want. You’ve done your Saturn. Joe married Pattie. Be brave. Saturn is watching. Face your fears and deal with them in a way so your spirit grows stronger even if your intellect and emotions are causing havoc in your heart. It is just a swirlie. Don’t be intimidated by the physical aspect appearing before you. Follow your soul’s path.
Monday, Sun is very active today. While it LOOKS one way, there is a very good chance, with Mercury coming to station in Cancer, that those high emotions are deceiving you into taking a path that is NOT in your best interest! What is your fear? How does your fear cause you to do or not do something? Mercury has an aspect to the north node in Pisces while Mars and Sun aspect Saturn, waking up the Saturn in Leo energy. Your fear maybe triggered, saturned, spotlighted or highlighted. Choose the path that challenges your fear and pushes you towards and through it, heading for what you love and what is important to you. Joe loved Pattie. He wasn’t going to let a bunch of adolescent, sexually screwed up dorm mates from all boys Catholic High Schools who’d never kissed a girl, get in the way of him going for what he loved and wanted ~ Pattie ~ kangaroo court or no kangaroo court ~ swirlie or no swirlie ~ Saturn in Leo or no Saturn in Leo. Nothing was going to block or stop Joe.
Tuesday, Mars has an adjusting, stressful aspect to home and hearth. Gotta clear out the distractions to see the pure energy of the choices before you. Joe had advance notice of the kangaroo court being scheduled.
Wednesday, Sun has a trine to Neptune ~ focus on your spirit’s desire. What does your spirit or soul want? Mars aspects Neptune and the Sun. Go for your spiritual growth. What has this taught you? What do you know now that you didn’t know back then? What will you adjust or change to go for what you want to have and create in your life? What fears do you see in a new and different way? Do you see how those fears have shaped your life and helped you to get to where you are now? What parts of those fears aren’t true? What parts of those fears are true? Do you see how the fear keeps you from doing what you want and what your heart craves?
Thursday is a HUGE emotional day. Not only do we have a new moon at 23:41 of Gemini, but the Moon makes oodles of aspects to the story going on in our lives. It is an out of bounds new moon too! Moon in Gemini, while OUT OF BOUNDS, will HOPEFULLY let you see the story from both sides of the picture. You have a moment of cosmic time out to pause and decide your strategy. Argue both positions of the story before you. Argue for yourself. Take the other guy’s side and argue their position. Declare the other guy a winner. How do you feel? Declare yourself the winner. How do you feel? The energy is a kangaroo court energy ~ the outcome might be predetermined. But do you care? Do you see how their reality is THEIRS and your reality is YOURS? You both are in this mess because you both needed to do whatever you did at the time you did it. And now, YOU at least, the reader of this column and wise in the ways of Saturn, need to take your swirlie and get on with the next chapter of your life.
Friday, Mercury stations. The moment of truth arrives! Remember it is an out of bounds moon ruling that Mercury in Cancer. Mercury is going backwards for the next three weeks! He is in charge of the Sun’s ego and the intellectual arguments being made today. If the intellectual arguments are in support of your fear ~ that is a problem. Ignore them. If the intellectual arguments are in support of your greater spiritual growth, listen and proceed with caution forward. The universe is offering you a cosmic do over for the next few weeks, provided you want to take it. Whatever comes in today, on the station, you have until Mercury goes direct (July 9) to get it re-organized and set up right. Or else. Or else what? Or else, instead of perfecting and growing your skills while Saturn goes through Virgo, you will be back in Saturn school again for a few more years learning this lesson over again. Whatever you do (or fail to do), is what Saturn in Virgo is going to be about. You will be dealing with it. Ghosts and folks from your past will be returning to help you see the lesson(s) of Saturn clearly. Listen to the ghosts and folks from your past for guidance on what to do ~ provided they don’t provoke the fear part of the intellectual or emotional decisions.
Back to yesterday’s arguments ~ can you find a middle ground? Can you not cling to one side or the other? Can you look for the lifeboat or do you want to go down with the ship? Did I mention that Joe, unlike all the others who had gone before him in the dorm‘s kangaroo court, stood up and announced that he loved Pattie? He announced it for all to hear! It quite took the wind out of the kangaroo court‘s sails. Joe said he hoped they all would eventually find someone as lovely and wonderful as Pattie was to him. She was his dream woman. She was so worth a swirlie if that is what it took. She was worth 1,000 swirlies. Suffice to say, his speech quite took the swirlie givers by surprise and depleted the juvenile sadistic gleefulness out of the kangaroo court witnesses, judge, jury and observers.
Saturn’s day, Uranus has interesting aspects. He’s been strangely quiet this week. If you did your Saturn, there might be an offer of compromise today. Accept it, even if you aren’t thrilled with the terms. You get to move on. If you didn’t do it, or perhaps didn’t do your Saturn enough, Venus is going to require a bit more effort from you before she lets you off the hook Push for resolution. Keep doing your Saturn. Do your Saturn. Face your fear.
Sunday, Mars aspects the node and he is past both Saturn and Neptune. The moment of truth has arrived. At this moment, Mars is free (but fueled) by his aspects to Saturn and Jupiter. Mars is about to make a trine to Pluto. At the time of his trine to Pluto in Sagittarius, we will commit to the next stage of our path. Kind of like the last seconds to abort the launch (or agreement to launch) the space shuttle. 10, 9, 8, 7… While we might still be able to pull out or stop it, the moment of inevitability is approaching. Mercury has an adjusting aspect to Venus. Settle or offer to split the difference so you can move on with you life.
Mundane: Probably the last thing you want to hear about is Paris Hilton (February 17 1981)! Her rock and roll last week in and out of jail is indicative of what we can expect with the Saturn Neptune opposition pressure starting to build. Saturn WILL be honored as the pressure grows and tears flow. Saturn in Leo, in the form of the judge, hauled Paris back into court and said, “Nope, no house release for you!” as the media went wild in a strange frenzy, completely ignoring the “real news” as Neptune made the country obsessed with the blonde heiress‘s lastest adventure. Paris’ comment from jail that she won’t be appealing her sentence and that we should focus on the service of people in Iraq is her version of owning her Saturn in Libra.
The world will be rocking and rolling as we all move through our own version of a cosmic swirlie in the week ahead. Paris’ swirlie is that 8 x 10 jail cell. Hopefully, you won‘t have a loaded swirlie because y
ou‘ve been doing your Saturn for the past 2 years. We are all in a giant cosmic adjustment as we get ready to launch the next phase of our life of building and refining our skills with Saturn in Virgo or aborting the takeoff for three more years to go back into the remedial Saturn school of criticism and pickiness. Watch for leaders, structures and organizations to collapse if they are out of control or attempt to thwart the rules. Going to be a fun week on earth! Flush!
