New Moon in Leo – What’s Next?

Yesterday afternoon, 4:44 PM Eastern US time on August 2nd, 2016, we had a lovely New Moon in the self-actualizing sign of Leo, with the auspicious, delicious closing aspect of a conjunction to Venus. Moreover, the New Moon perfected just hours after Mars transitions from sticky Scorpio (where he’s been lingering for the last 10 months!) into frisky, visionary Sagittarius.
The New Moon energy will be with us for the rest of the week. If you haven’t done your ritual yet, you have till Friday night!

The sky is full of Fire now, giving us a big boost of forward-moving energy. Last call! It’s time to get your junk together, before Mars and Saturn meet up to initiate a new work/structure cycle on August 24th.

What do you want to be doing with your time – and building in your life – till January 2018, when Saturn enters Capricorn? You have THREE WEEKS to figure it out and finish laying your plans. This is the last gasp of the research and development phase. The big wrap-up! Clear off the desk, so you’ll have plenty of space to work.
In the New Moon chart, the Sun/Moon degree of 10’57” Leo is trine to Mars and Saturn at 0’02” and 9’52” Sadge respectively. Thus, like the charioteer Sun-God Helios in Greek mythology, our “nice” planets Sun and Moon are able to harness the unruly, “difficult” planets Mars and Saturn to their vehicle. Harness your Mars – and your Saturn!

The conscious and unconscious parts of your psyche (Sun and Moon) are partnering together today. They want to guide and instruct you about HOW and WHERE to work, act, structure, and build (Mars and Saturn) the next phase of your life. Tune in and follow their lead. They know what they’re doing.

Jupiter in Virgo can help, too. He’s in mutual reception with Saturn in Sagittarius (by ruler and term), which allows the two to “trade” signs back and forth. Saturn in Virgo is focused, precise, and detail-oriented. Jupiter in Sadge is all about the big picture, the most optimistic vision. “What would you do if you knew you could not fail?” Whatever it is, there’s a good chance that it would be worth doing, even if you knew you COULD fail. Move towards THAT, and see how it feels.

For the last ten months, there have been lots and lots of big, tense configurations of numerous planets forming and re-forming in the heavens (Kites, Keys, T-Squares, Fingers of God, Hammers of Thor, Mystic Rectangles, oh my!) – all pushing us to reevaluate our experience of life and evolve into a new state of consciousness.

Mars was in Scorpio, traveling the same path that Saturn in Scorpio traced from October 2012 to September 2015. Scorpio always asks us to commit and reminds us of our psychological fears around committing. There’s often some stress there.

Now, however, as Mars leaves Scorpio and enters into Sagittarius, the stress dissolves. There’s less need to look at your inhibitions, fears, anxieties, and phobias. Instead, we want to look on the bright side – to aim at the future instead of the past.

There’s also less noise. The orchestra has fallen quiet. There won’t be quite so much drama in the world this month. The only one of all those big, tense configurations left is one little T-Square with Mercury, the North Node of Fate, Saturn, and Neptune.

The energy is relatively still. You’re all alone, and the planets are looking at you with an arched eyebrow saying, “So, what’s next?  What’s your heart’s path?”

Think of your answer and then get moving!
