The eclipses are coming! The eclipses are coming!

Last week, we entered eclipse season. Eclipse season runs until May 14, 2014. It finishes up the story from the last eclipse season (October 4 to November 17, 2013) and starts a new story in your Aries/Libra and Taurus/Scorpio houses. Eclipses make us feel we HAVE TO DO something! Often the thing we HAVE TO DO something about is a long standing issue or situation which seems to reach critical mass. It explodes into our to-do list and consciousness with a profound sense of urgency. Sit and look closely at it before you take action. The sense of urgency is profound. Be cautious before you leap!
In addition to eclipse season, our Cardinal T-square soon to be a Cardinal Grand Cross tightens, tightens, and tightens, perfecting mid-month between April 20 and 24. That week will be a whopper! We are in tight orb with the T-square now so you’ll be feeling it and the energy associated with it building, building and building. If you have planets in your chart in the 12 to 14 degree area, they are receiving the T-square energy and soon to be Cardinal Cross energy. It will just feel like the energy keeps building and building. If you don’t have planets at those degrees, the HOUSES which contain 12 to 14 of Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn will be receiving the energy. You only have to look around the world to see how rocking and rolling the cardinal energy is.
Personally, the cardinal cross is right on my Nodes of Destiny ~ falling in houses 2, 5, 8, and 11, while the eclipse energy forms ANOTHER Cardinal Cross with my natal T-square ~ falling in houses 2, 6, 8, and 12. Aside from a number of personal situations that are rocking and rolling around in my life, I’ve been working 14 hour days talking to clients as a VERY large number of my clients seem to be having major events in THEIR lives right now. Two weeks ago, I went to visit my father as the eclipses land in his and my houses of death as a “just in case” visit ~ fortunately Dad seems fine and happy after all the stress and strain of his recent move into assisted living. It has been non-stop action! As the Weekly Weather column takes me anywhere from 4 to 7 hours to write, there has been NO spare time to actually sit down and write it! Fortunately, every astrologer on the internet and every astrology publication is weighing in on and writing about the upcoming eclipse and Cardinal T-square turning into a Cardinal Cross. No dearth of information on this pile of planetary excess! Just Google it and scare yourself silly!
So how can you handle the exceptionally turbulent energy ahead? First, breathe. Breathe again. Take a few more deep breaths?!? Self-care is super important. Keep working on grounding yourself amidst all the passionate fire, air and water energy. The only earth in the sky right now is Pluto so it can be mighty hard to ground yourself ~ you will have to focus to do it. Remember the energy is TRANSITS. It is TRANSITORY! The transits pass away in about two weeks. This baby is going to be mighty potent and you need to take care of yourself.
Second, focus on what you CAN do. Use the Venus and Neptune in Pisces energy to connect in a loving way. Contact your loved ones who are having a tough time and encourage them to stick it out and stay around. Contact folks who are ill or hanging on physically by a thread or two as eclipses tend to increase the death toll ~ people seem to check out in larger numbers when the eclipse pulse of energy rolls across earth ~ their work is finished and they are free to go. Combine an eclipse with a Cardinal Cross and there will be LOTS of exits. Contact the former addicts or alcoholics in your world and encourage them to double down on their sobriety techniques. Focus on what is positive self-care for YOUR SELF too. When I sat down, exhausted, to write the column last week, I just looked at my computer and the word document holding the aspects waiting for me to write about them. I said to myself, “Anne, you need to take care of yourself. Go to bed!” and I did. Positive self-care for yourself!
Third, look around and figure out WHO you are in every transaction you find yourself in~ you’ll be playing one of the planet’s roles while others around you will take the OTHER planets role(s). Jupiter in Cancer is expanding, nurturing and abundant. Pluto in Capricorn is the power dynamic/play or triangle drama or struggle to evolve/control. Uranus in Aries is the desire to run away and join the circus or simply explode chaotically. Mars in Libra is the intense focus on relationships and what you want (or don’t want) in them ~ discuss!
Fourth, engage the energy proactively. My student Maria, a practical Capricorn/Virgo mix, announced she was “Doing Something” on each leg of the T-Square becoming a Cross. Look at where the energy falls in YOUR chart and DO SOMETHING at each leg. Of course, Maria, a Capricorn is harnessing that Pluto energy to evolve with and control the energy. It IS energy so you can definitely work with it if you apply yourself. You may find yourself bouncing to and fro, across the various points of the Cross … or working it in harmony.
In the midst of the eclipses and the Cardinal Cross culminating, Pluto is stationing to go retrograde next Monday, the day before the eclipse. We’ll start to feel the buildup of his energy THIS week on Wednesday. All these energies tend to produce seismic or geological events so watch for earthquakes, volcanoes and tsunamis to join the party and shake, erupt and swamp parts of the world (and perhaps us) with their energy. The movie “Noah” opens this week, projecting the biblical destruction of the world from a flood ~ you can’t make this astrology stuff up! And Yellowstone’s Caldera is active with both Bison and Elk migrating away from it.
Encourage yourself and your loved ones to hang on loosely (or tightly), to go with the flow and trust the process. The heavens have a wonderful and expansive set of stories they are telling us. Once we get to the OTHER SIDE of the energy, we’ll have a much clearer picture of who we are, where we are going and what we are supposed to do ~ we’ll be clear what is important to us and why it is important. For now, remember to breathe and pay attention to what’s going on.
The Week’s Planetary Highlights
Sun in Aries is fast moving and passionate! Sun fights with Mars, his ruler, and decides to go his own way. Sun links up with Juno to form new partnerships or relationships as well as Eris to launch a new project driven by or about envy or discord. Often, when we don’t get what we want, Eris inspires our ego to tackle projects and harness envy in a productive manner. Try to do that!
Mercury enters Aries and gets assertive, sharp, piercing, and direct. He doesn’t suffer fools well. He shouts. He says mean things. Ouch.
Venus in Pisces, soft, psychic, melancholy, emotional, and dreamy, meets up with Neptune in Pisces to MERGE DEEPLY in either LOVE or DEPRESSION. Watch out for drugs and alcohol! This energy can make you feel wildly happy or very, very sad. It is an illusion, so allow the weekend to pass before taking action under it.
Mars is moving backwards until May 20, 2014. Mars separates from relationships and partnerships. There will be lots of breaks up this week. Remember Mars is retrograde so LET HIM or HER GO. Men, Scorpio and Aries planets and houses are in retreat, moving away. Once he starts to move forward again, after May 20, there will be an opportunity for reunion.
Pluto is slowing to Station NEXT week. We feel his energy and the tension of his upcoming station start to build on Wednesday. Pluto stopping often triggers geocosmic events like earthquakes, volcanoes, and tsunamis. Pluto stations are also implicated at the beginning of wars~ watch the situations in the global hotspots start to boil!
Pallas stations and turns direct on April 8, 2014 at 24°Leo 58′. Pallas is parallel to Bellatrix, the Amazon warrior woman star in the left shoulder of Orion suggesting restless aggression and sudden decisions that can swiftly be created or destroy the native. Watch for blindness and a sudden fall from grace.
Juno and Ceres aspect Eris, inviting Mars’ difficult, trouble-making sister into the energetic mix. Watch for envy and/or passionate desires in relationships to cause trouble.
Void Moons in the Week Ahead: When the Moon is Void, it is wise to avoid making important decisions as they tend to be unrealistic, and subject to false starts, errors or unexpected hassles. Avoid being concerned with things beyond your spiritual center. It is time for subjective, spiritual, and non-materialistic concerns. Kick back, let life flow, and center yourself. Connect into your essential oneness with the Universal Forces.

Monday Moon Day April 7, 2014 Moon goes void Trine to Saturn at 02:14:45 pm EDT and enters Leo on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 05:51:16 am EDT. Moon is void Monday afternoon and night. After a dream-filled night, you wake with a bit of apprehension. Mercury enters Aries today for 17 days of sharp tongues and cutting words. Be careful and conscious about what you say to others. If they say something cutting to you ~ know that it IS true (from their perspective). It is REALLY how they feel! We may not LIKE it but it IS straight from the Aries’ mouth so to speak! Like a match, it can burn a bit. Clean up your house or office in the morning ~ especially the papers! Mars opposes Juno so partnerships can feel a bit frayed or argumentative. Allow each other needed space.
Tuesday Mars Day April 7, 2014 Moon enters Leo on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at 05:51:16 am EDT. You wake up to good news that inspires you. Or perhaps that last dream was helpful in solving a problem. Sun’s parallel to Sedna suggests the ocean surrenders something important to the world. No overdoing it! Pallas stations and turns direct today, encouraging us to have the blindness fall from our eyes. Mercury argues with the underworld and darker energies today ~ you can’t win so don’t waste your breath, instead try to figure out how to PARTNER with the deeper and darker energies. Mercury delivers words that wound this afternoon ~ OUCH! They DO believe it! Now that you KNOW how they feel, what do YOU want to do? Sun’s opposition to Mars suggests you might want to leave (or they might want to leave). It is a good time to take a break or time out from situations that are driving you crazy. Health matters can be problematic. Time to make the doctor’s appointment!
Wednesday Mercury’s day April 9, 2014 Moon is in Leo and goes void Square to Saturn, so projects begun today, yesterday, or tomorrow will have hard endings. You will have offers and opportunities for you to let things go. You want or they need to separate from something. Some times that is a GOOD thing ~ you want to let go of weight or get rid of clutter or stuff that holds you back or break up for good with someone ~ these three days are good days to do so. Venus and Mars are fighting so you can expect tension in personal relationships where desire and action are NOT in sync. Ceres contraparallel to Eris makes us NOT want to caretake in the way we used to. Sun remembers the old and outworn and how it can push or help create memories that inspire ~ allow the old to help as they actually know what they are doing. Venus parallels Neptune inviting extreme rapture or deep depression. It is a very emotional and evocative transit so wait until next week to decide what you want to do. We start to feel the tension build in anticipation of Pluto’s upcoming station as he reaches the degree of his station.
Thursday Jupiter’s day April 10, 2014 Moon goes void Square to Saturn at 02:26:49 am EDT and enters Virgo at 06:08:40 pm EDT. Moon is Void on Thursday. Health matters seem to expand and take on a life of their own. Take your bee propolis and vitamins ~ or it will be time for the seasonal shift cold! Let go of whatever doesn’t work for you any more … release, release, release. Moon’s square to Saturn wants you to release whatever you don’t completely love. Why have it cluttering up your life? It takes up your energy to keep track of it and dust it! Dump it! Tension grows as Pluto’s upcoming station as he reaches the degree of his station.
Friday Venus’ Day April 11, 2014 Moon is in Virgo and goes void Sextile Saturn, making today and Saturday very productive and profound in creating, organizing, or supporting structures and learning experiences. Sun’s union with Juno invites partnerships to step into a new form of reality. Mercury is irritated with everyone who is moving slowly today … watch carefully when driving or walking as people will be erratic and not paying attention. Focus on the dream of what you’d like rather than what you don’t have. Patterns are clear for all to see and encourage a deeper understanding of the emotions of abandonment and shame based fear. Let it speak to you. Listen to your wisdom and heart. Be kind to yourself and others. Health matters need tending to. Neptune semisquare to Juno asks what you are grateful for in your life and how it supports your path. Spend time with the people or things that bless your life tonight. There can be a deep shift or psychological adjustment to an old, sad emotional space in your soul today. Work with any power struggles to help shift the energy. Allow the sun shine to warm that space. Venus joins with Neptune to start a new life, a new love, a new cycle. Venus and Neptune in Pisces encourage the dreamer, the drifter, the rainbows, and the flowers to bloom in your life. Invite the next chapter of your life to come in. Venus and Neptune can also combine to make a difficult or deadly combination of drugs and/or alcohol so be careful around substances tonight. Saturday Saturn’s day Moon in Virgo goes void Sextile Saturn at 01:12:54 pm EDT and enters Libra on Sunday April 13, 2014 at 04:34:21 am EDT. Moon is void all Saturday afternoon and evening. Dreams are busy and full of images about the future. Pay attention to what they are telling you. Plans go awry this morning and don’t seem to want to be on track. Separate and do your own thing rather than arguing with partner or friends about what “should” be happening. Agree to spend time focused, privately, on what you want to accomplish. Don’t force folks to cooperate. Pay attention to what IS happening. Sun joins up with Eris so folks are irritated and irritable. You might be irritated and irritable! Use that irritated energy to shift your direction and drive toward new projects that inspire. It is a great day for conquering old, unfinished projects or organizing new projects. You can accomplish quite a bit using discontent as your fuel. Old memories and friends are part of tonight’s energy. They encourage and inspire. Sunday Sun’s day April 13, 2014 Moon enters Libra at 04:34:21 am EDT and has an opposition to the Sun (the eclipse) as the closing aspect. Today and the next few days are great to separate. Pluto is stopped so the tension is palpable. Difficult news around persistent patterns or problems surfaces without a clear solution ~ a sense of IRRITATION is palpable. Juno links up with Eris so envy can be part of the energy too. Partnerships can include some healthy discord but watch as it can quickly devolve into serious nastiness. Sun’s opposition to Vesta encourages you to separate from things that no longer serve the purpose they once did … this can be people, items, events, or ideas. They helped you get to where you are NOW. They won’t be able to help you get to where you want to go next. Mars contraparallel to Uranus suggests this is a leave-taking day. Take action. Let go. Or run away (figuratively, not literally) and join the circus. You are craving the change being offered to you. Take advantage of it! On occasion, the universe presents you with a cross road in your life. Fate takes place. Free will is yours to exercise today! Choose wisely. And for your greater good! It is all about growing in love and connection. Allow the wisdom in your heart to guide you! Get a good night’s sleep as tomorrow the proverbial shit hits the fan as the universe moves towards a profound, emotional, and expressive Pluto station and eclipse.
