Our week ahead has Sun and Mercury traveling together in early Libra. They are in agreement as Mercury joins the Sun on Wednesday. When the Sun and Mercury join up, we find it very easy to make up our minds as the ego function of the Sun is aligned with the ideas and communication principles of Mercury. We also don’t listen well to discordant ideas ~ but perhaps that is okay. We are clear on OUR position. We know what WE want. We are able to see how the stories of our lives all links together in a cohesive whole.
Mercury and the Sun roll through the early part of the cardinal t-square, squaring Pluto and opposing Uranus helping us clarify the triangles and power struggles in our lives as well as to become clear about what we don‘t want to do, be or take any more. Little hot Mercury is moving fast right now so he’s in the mood to make decisions and get on with it. Mercury forms a physically adjusting aspect to Chiron offering us wisdom about how the person or situations before us awaken our wounded parts. Part of life is knowing that the reflection from the external world can cause us to see things clearly. This is that kind of week. You are going to see how the people in your life are there because they reflect for you what you need to get clear on.
We continue watching Saturn push forward across the middle part of Libra. Traveling through the Via Combusta, Saturn is feeling lit up, on fire, as he moves rapidly through this part of the heavens. The Via Combusta translates to the Road of Fire. It is a difficult patch of the heavens, opposite the exaltation positions of the Sun and Moon, and thus in the fall of the life giving lights. Things end here. Or they are permanently changed forever. There are a number of fixed stars scattered along the Road of Fire which make permanent changes in our lives. As Saturn rolls through the Via Combusta, we will each be asked to make choices around and about the structure of our lives and the relationships we have.
Saturn will travel between 17 Libra and 22 Libra between now and November 4. He will not return to this part of the sky or your chart for 29 years. The choices you make between now and November 4 will be permanent, final and keepers. So choose carefully. Be aware of what you are signing up for or turning away from. No more waffling. The moment of decision making has arrived. He gave you since last January to get clear on the matter. And, truth be told, you’ve been working on this issue since 1981 and 1952 if you are older. Time to strike out with a new, revised and improved vision of it for the next 29 years! Take all that work you’ve done and set the focus clearly.
Our week also finds Venus catching up with Saturn and starting a new cycle around what we value in our relationships. (Seems to be a theme here eh?) Venus and Saturn meet up once a year to start a new cycle of relationships and connection. Venus is moving pretty fast too. Venus meets up with Juno the asteroid of committed, traditional relationships this weekend starting a new cycle of commitment, partnership and connection. So be clear what you want and state it ~ all week long!
Mars in Leo stimulates degrees 4 to 7 and has a bit of stress with Pluto early in the week which can show as extreme irritation or rage. The energy will flare up a bit and then subside. Notice what is irritating you. You’ll be working on a solution to it for nine months once Mars gets into Virgo in November.
Hades stations and goes retrograde on Sunday so expect difficult or unseen things to surface from the underworld as part of the week’s energy. The secrets emerge. Always good to know the secrets ~ it helps make decisions clearer.

Moon day, Monday September 26 Moon is in Virgo and formed a grand trine in Earth with Jupiter and Pluto yesterday which you can continue to work with on this day long void moon. Yep, all day long, the moon is void so work on projects in process rather than starting new ones. Venus is parallel to Mars today so there is an opportunity to connect deeply and profoundly. Mercury is square to Hades so dark or secret information can surface from the underworld or hidden places. Watch the information.. You don’t have to take Action on it ~ you do need to integrate it into your decision making. Mercury is also inconjunct or quincunx to Chiron so the information received can wound you or feel a bit overwhelming. Remember Mercury wants you to know the truth (and he always knows where the bodies are buried, the secrets are hidden and the stuff you don‘t know about that you NEED to know) so pay attention to the information that surfaces today. There is a desire to firm up or focus your vision on the kinds of groups that you want to create in your life too. Saturn is in the Aquarian section of Libra asking and offering each of us the opportunity to revise our hopes and dreams as well as the groups we are part of. It will feel like you are able to do that in a good working manner this week, starting today.
Mars Day Tuesday September 27 Moon moves into Libra early this morning and later forms a lovely New Moon in Libra. We start a new 30 day cycle as well as 2 ½ year cycle. The Libra New Moon also initiates the next chapter of Saturn in Libra’s relationship journey from 18 Libra through the end of the sign next fall. It is instructive to look at the New Moon’s energy to see what we will be working with in the 2 1/2 years ahead as Saturn moves through the same energy. The New Moon is a working moon with her planets placed in clumps that cooperate together. Today Mars is inconjunct Pluto asking us to make a psychological adjustment to the energy and perhaps the anger, that we felt in early August when Mars opposed Pluto in Cancer. Now, Mars in Leo GETS IT. Where he might have been crying and whining or sad and depressed in early August, now Mars is roaring, bright, proud and doesn’t want to have to take a back seat to anyone or anything. He knows what he wants and is willing to ask for it, even if it has a price. Mercury is opposite Uranus adding a break through, break up, break down or break out energy to communications. You might be shocked by what you hear today. And that is a good thing. It frees you up to go forward and do your own thing. It allows you to get what you are going for. Uranus adds fuel to Mercury so we often hear the words “brilliant” or “inspired” or “visionary”. Mercury has other aspects today too ~ making it a good day to pitch ideas, buy computers, make commitments, break commitments~ provided you want a wild and exciting ride.
Mercury’s day Wednesday September 28 finds Moon in Libra continuing to help firm up existing and create new relationships or blow them up to smithereens. Libra moon has a trine closing aspect so whether they continue or blow up today, the karma of your life is involved. Venus and Saturn are moving toward a conjunction with each other and that always means changes on relationship fronts. The chart for their conjunction tomorrow echoes the New Moon chart from yesterday so the seeds are virtually the same. Focus on what you want. Express it. That is perhaps the hardest thing with Venus and Saturn. Venus has to ask for what she wants knowing she very well might not get it. The volatility of the t-square continues and is harnessed by the Sun and Mercury today. Sun squares Pluto so you get clear on triangular relationships and what you want to do about them. Mercury squares Pluto so he makes commitments until death do us part ~ expect action around areas that you want to partner with and move forward on. Mercury and the Sun joins forces today to have a single minded approach to virtually everything. You’ll find the indecisions that have plagued you over the past few days, weeks and months are falling away into the dust and darkness of the underworld. You wonder why you hadn’t seen it before! How did you not know? Well, of course, on SOME level you knew, that is why you were unable to decide. But now, you ARE able to focus and go forward. Ah, the beauty of Saturn clearing his indecision point and the Sun and Mercury getting on the same page. Mercury is moving quickly and quite content that his decision is correct. If you get a “bad” outcome or decision today ~ especially from an authority or male in your life, wait about 14 to 18 days and broach it again. Make sure to reproach before November 4 when the NO is a final NO. The same thing happens with YES is a final YES! Mercury is gathering lots of information from various sources. Take time to note it all and look for the pattern in it as well as the underlying connection. Mercury and Venus aspect the Nodes of Fate so desires are often answered or important news/ideas delivered under this aspect. And you can meet or connect with future beloved ones. So note the people crossing your path. They will help you get what you want. Listen to the ideas floating by your ears today ~ they will come in strong and true if you work on them.
Thursday, Jupiter’s day September 29 finds the Moon in Scorpio. Venus joins up with Saturn starting a new year long cycle of relationships and connections. She reviews what has gone on over the past year and decides what she wants going forward. Look for news of relationships breaking up or forming today. Mercury works with Mars so you might have fighting words or strong words today. They are needed to express who you really are and what is important for and to you. Thoughts are important today ~ make sure to reframe them as you and Mercury come out of that dissolving t-square. No beating yourself up for what you didn’t do. No saying it will always be this way forever, and ever amen. Acknowledge it might not be what you want or look to be leading to the desired outcome. At the same time, it DID get you clear on what you DO want. And remember Mercury’s admonition that life is about the process and the acquiring of knowledge, seeing the choices and making the connections. No one is perfect. You did the best you could for where you were and the knowledge you had at the time. Now you are where you are NOW. You have new knowledge. Based on that knowledge, how do you want to proceed? Mercury’s many supportive aspects today allow you to dig yourself out of the mud and see the situations before you for what they truly are. You see if they are what you want. And you notice if they are not your very deep wish that we talked about last week. Those deep wishes are BIG! And Primal! And life is messy. Fun but messy. So throw that primal big deep wish into the pit before you. And reframe that wish: you are a mosquito at a nudist colony. Where to start? And how to avoid getting smashed again?
Venus’ Day Friday September 30 Moon in Scorpio takes us deeper into our feelings. Moon’s closing aspect is a square so we can feel a bit discouraged between it and the Venus Saturn aspect that took place yesterday. It is a busy day of doing but emotionally we can feel a bit raw. Always good to serve, volunteer, clean, organize, dance or create when this kind of energy strikes ~ it HAS to be used to get it out of your body and into the world. No worries. Adjust your attitude today. So, as a mosquito in a nudist colony, what IS the best spot to drink from with the least amount of notice to the body of the owner? Reframe! LOTS Of emotions swirling around today ~ so let them swirl. Watch the negative self talk and allow yourself to reframe those situations you are not so happy about.
Saturn’s Day Saturday October 1 Sagittarius Moon is busy and bustling after the emotions of Scorpio. Ready to dry out, kick up its heels and take action, Mercury links up with Mars to help you take that reframe of yours out into the world. So maybe it was a provisional yes. In your own mind, make it a ROUSING yes. Resolution is important. As Lincoln said to a young man who aspired to be a lawyer, “If you are resolutely determined to make a lawyer of yourself, the thing is more than half done already. Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other one thing.” Enthusiasm is next. Emerson wrote “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” I know, inspirational quotes after the week you had, not always easy to find. But with Venus and Saturn blazing new territory and not returning this way for 29 years, the choices are more important and “fated” than at other times. Sun links up with the Nodes of fate by declination so watch for who arrives into your life today. You might have to adjust that vision you had of happily ever after… but that is why they call them fairy tales. So start a new version ~ “Once upon a time there was ME and I figured out….” You’ve been working SO hard to get conscious. Trust me, Saturn is noticing. And you can feel free to draw his attention to how hard you’ve been working. He is watching you know….
Sun’s day, Sunday October 2 Moon in Sagittarius has lovely closing aspects. Moon works hard with Venus and Saturn who are starting to separate and go their own ways after their union earlier in the week. You will be emotionally clear about your relationship status today and work to move them to the next level. And I am not talking just the romantic kinds ~ every kind. Focus on what you want and what is important to you. Juno is opposite Eris so the abandoned part or angry part can rise up very rapidly. Redirect the Mars towards a new path of passion. Sometimes Libra says “Better a bad relationship than no relationship at all.” That is NOT what you are saying right now. Go for the better vision. Trust that things are turning out and ripening the way that they should. We are at the last bits of the harvest of summer. Focus on the partnerships that will carry you through the winter season ahead and through the next 29 years (or subset there of…). When I say 29 years, some people are feeling it as a “burden” or scary to contemplate that far out. Ah but you must…. And it does have a way of putting things in perspective… what DO you want from your life and your relationships? Asked and answered. Answer what you want. By stating it, it starts to create. Hades stations retrograde in Cancer…. Revise your vision. Don’t stay in hell. Venus too has an opposition to Eris ~ ah the Goddess of Discord is rocking today. What does the principle of love want in your life? Answer well. It is your future. Venus joins with Juno ~ the two gals are listening to your answer as you turn away from the discord before you. Optimism. Focus. See the patterns and understand how to change them. Or live with them.

Instructor Biography
Anne Ortelee is a charming, personable, funny and delightful astrological analyst, coach and speaker who educates and assists her clients or students with their life changes, growth spurts, evolution, integration and personal understanding of their world using astrology as an interpretive tool.
Anne provides in-depth astrological consultations for her clients. She teaches classes, workshops and speaks to groups in New York City and the regional area. Her articles appear in various publications and on the internet. Anne hosts three internet radio shows on Blogtalkradio.com. and writes a weekly column about what we can expect in the events in the world.
