We enter a very important period of time between now and November 4. Saturn will travel across a patch of heavenly real estate. Saturn will not travel this patch of Libra again for 29 years or until 2040. So what happens between now and November 4 is PERMANENT and very hard to dislodge, change or revoke. Saturn is on the case and locking the decisions you make in footprints of concrete and building on them as the structure of your life.
Saturn goes from 17:13 Libra through 22:45 Libra, setting off every planet in your chart at those degrees. Each of those planets in your chart will make a firm commitment for the next 29 years (or 7 year subset of). That makes the next few weeks very important for firming up deals you totally want to do, committing to relationships, ending the stuff you no longer want, quitting bad behaviors like drinking, smoking, gambling, or overeating, and saying yes to the new habits you want to make a part of your daily life and include each and every day for the next 29 years.
I know. It sounds important. It IS important. These are “All sales are final!” days. These are “No refunds, No exchanges.” days. These are “You broke it, You buy it!” days. You get the idea. No returns or exchanges in major areas of your life between the degrees of 17 and 22. Wow.
You know I don’t normally approach astrology with these hard, fast and firm rules. I like my astrology flexible and fluid. I admit it, I have commitment issues! However, sometimes astrology IS judgmental, determined and final, final, final! That is what we have before us for the next month and some. Saturn is sticky. Saturn is our reality. Saturn is looking to get you to commit to your next big chapter. It is the time to put a ring on it NOW!
Saturn is in the Aquarian decant of Libra so he is ruled by either Saturn or Uranus ~ take your pick. Saturn in Libra is exalted. He wants to commit and he wants to commit for GOOD. He’s ready to sign the contract, do the deal, and get it done. Uranus in Aries is blowing things up as he starts to leave his square from Pluto and receives the trine from Mars in Leo. There is a lovely trine in earth between Jupiter and Pluto, encouraging solid structures be built. Pluto in Capricorn is moving forward again, harnessing the power of Saturn in his exaltation in Libra as he answers to Saturn as his boss. The Lord of the Underworld is going to take out anything you don’t need any more as Saturn bulldozes his way forward. Jupiter in Taurus answers to Venus in Libra indicating a desire to commit to partners and contracts that make us money, bring us love or answer our desires.
So work with Saturn. Plant seeds for what you want. Banish the stuff you want gone from your life. Bring in the stuff you want to create in your life. You don’t have to have a firm view of exactly WHAT it is but have a seedling of an idea. You can plant a seedling. And if you have a BIGGER vision, plant that! Think about the next 29 years. Yes, 29 years. What do you want to happen during them? Think big, BIG picture….
If you want to write a book IN THE NEXT 29 YEARS, get some paper and write on it “MY BOOK” by “ME” and inside write the dedication and acknowledgement or introduction: I dedicate this to my parents. It is about my search for truth. That is enough to plant the seedling and hold the energy. If you have a clearer idea, go for it.
If you know you no longer want to be married to your partner for the next 29 years, sign a piece of paper on which you’ve written I AM DIVORCED EVEN IF THEY DO NOT sign the paper. That you DID sign it makes it clear in YOUR mind that you want to move on. And clear in Saturn’s mind too!
Imagine where you will live over the next 29 years. Find a picture of your dream location and write on it “I live here.” Get an idea of what you want in the parts of your life over the next 29 years. What is happening in your relationships, health, body, mind, finances, home, parents, siblings, pets, money you receive or owe others, children, grandchildren, creativity, religion, career, connection to divine and anything you can think of? Get some substance to the vision by starting it, writing it, doodling it or dreaming it. You don’t have to DO IT right this second but you can put a stake in the ground and prepare to homestead the dream.
If you are NOT sure what you want, please come up with a place holder. We are in the hopes and dreams part of the Libran sign ~ get clear, be as concise as you can be, focus.
And be careful what you wish for ~ this is a powerful block of energy. If you are NOT sure say to Saturn, “I defer deciding on this area until November or later.” Stuff decided after November 4 can be tweaked with, changed, modified and adjusted.
Mercury and the Sun both enter Libra this week and start through the gauntlet of the separating t-square ~ opposing Uranus (banishing time). Before that, Mercury and Sun are in Virgo ~ adjusting and tweaking ~ particularly HEALTH and HABIT issues ~ so get going on the diet, exercise, or bring in the good and let go of the not so good for you stuff. We start fall and move forward with our lives.
If you have planets in your chart between 17 and 22, those planets and the houses they rule will be very active and subsequently committed to the decisions you make about them. Pay attention to what you want to bring into your life! The universe is listening and going to deliver.

Moon day, Monday September 19 Moon in Gemini starts the week off with choices and decisions to be made. Moon is active today work with Saturn and Mercury to help you evaluate EMOTIONALLY yet DETACHED your options. Mercury is also busy as he squares the node of fate offering you a choice in both how you think and proceed with communication. Take the high road. Envision what the better choice for you is and go there. No thinking if you are unemployed “I will never find a job” ~ apply your mind to a creative REFRAME “I am looking and will find the perfect job for me”. Sun also joins with the nodes by declination suggesting you can meet people or connect with important information regarding you path in life. REFRAME things with relationships ~ if it was bad and blew up last week as Pluto stationed (or blows up this week as we pull away from Pluto’s station), reframe the energy and DISCERN what YOU want from that relationship going forward as well as from future relationships. Remember Saturn is in a relationship sign so he’s kicking our proverbial butts wherever we need to grow up in our relationships. Saturn is exalted in Libra meaning you DO know what the RIGHT thing to do is. Make sure to do it. And if the person you are dealing with is doing the BAD version of relationship, set some frigging boundaries with them ~ send them to the time out room ~ and get on with your vision of what YOU want to be like in a relationship. You DO have a choice about how YOU deal with it. No they are not going to change. They are who they are and they like it like that. No lollygagging feeling sorry for yourself. Mars is in LEO now ~ roar (at least to yourself if you are shy about roaring at other people) “I am not going to do this any more” and move on down the road. Or perhaps chant my friend Matt Jones’ Freedom Chant,” an affirmation he based on a famous quote by Fannie Lou Hammer and his own many years of direct action.
“I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired. I will not allow anybody at any time to violate my mind or my body in any shape, form or fashion. If they do, they’ll have to deal with ME immediately! Freedom! Freedom! Freedom!” Make sure to raise your arms in the air during the last three freedoms
At day’s end, Venus gets into the mix with a fast quintile to the North Node offering inspiration and ideas about where you can go to create what you want. Venus is trine to Vesta encouraging you to create or at least envision a future nest or workspace or home for yourself. Or work to fix up YOUR current home or office space.
Mars Day Tuesday September 20 finds the Moon in Gemini with dissolving closing aspects encouraging you to let go of the duality and pick one of the choices before you. Remember Saturn wants you to commit now. He’s moving past where he was last January when he stationed and gave you nine more months to figure out what you wanted. NOW he wants you to get busy and choose. It is also helpful if you take a look at the patterns around you and understand them. Pallas, the pattern seer is stopping in the sky this week and turning direct so you actually GET it. On some level you knew, but now you KNOW. When this aspect happens people often blame themselves. I hear “HOW could I be so stupid?” “Why did I let him/her do this to me?” “Why do I xyz all the time?” So put down the self flagellating and personal condemnation. Put it down. Right now. No holding on to it. You did it because it was a VERY DEEP WISH. A deep, deep wish from your childhood. There is NOTHING wrong with your wish. IT IS YOUR DEEP WISH. You need to name it, own it and love it. And, after you do that naming, owning and loving your deep wish, you have to stop yelling at yourself. Recognize that the person before you is NOT able to meet that wish’s needs (FOR WHATEVER REASON). You need to take that wish of yours and nurture it. You need to find a nice place for that wish in your life, with some sunshine and a bit of fresh air. You need to feed your wish and look for ways to take care of your wish. You gave your wish to someone who didn’t know how or wasn’t able to or can’t or won’t ~ but that is OKAY because it is YOUR wish and you actually KNOW what it needs. Honor your deep wish. Respect it. And stop taking your deep wish places where it gets smacked on the head for wanting, desiring or needing to be seen and fulfilled. YOU are in charge of fulfilling your wishes’ hopes. YOU. Not the other guy. They are simply the vehicle that let you know you HAD a DEEP wish.
Mercury’s day Wednesday September 21 Moon in Cancer has a lovely closing sextile to the Sun in Virgo making yesterday afternoon, today and tomorrow all about nurturing yourself and your deep wish. It is a deeply emotional day ~ good and bad ~ as Cancer Moon aspects Pluto, Venus, Jupiter and Saturn. You’ll find you fly around emotionally on a bit of a roller coaster. Hang on to your deep wish. There can be health things that pop up unexpectedly as Uranus trines Hygeia. Mercury works with Eris so if you find you are suddenly “annoyed” out of nowhere, that is a place you need to set better boundaries in. Eris does love to stir the pot and cause trouble and she’s poking at Mercury’s desire for perfection and being right in his message. So if you are criticized and find yourself annoyed ~ just chuckle to yourself and pull up your inner Teflon Ronald Reagan to say, genially, “There you go again! I am not going to talk about that xyz any more!” It will drive them mad! Remember YOU can be some ones DEEP WISH too! They can want YOU to be doing something you don’t want to do. Mars opposite Ceres means we are clearing the lack of nurturing that we didn’t get when we were little. We have to nurture ourselves. That is the only way we get better. Sun has an adjusting aspect to Neptune encouraging us to let go of our illusions and focus on the process of going about getting what we want.
Thursday, Jupiter’s day September 22 Moon in Cancer today, continues her emotional journey processing all that has gone on between now and the first week of August. Process away. You will find yourself adjusting things today ~ especially in the way you look at the world and in your vision of what you want to create. Think back to 2000, 1988, 1976 and 1964 to see the cycle of abundance or growth that began then. You are starting another cycle now and you need to focus on HOW that cycle will grow up and what you want it to be. Adjusting is good. No worries about how it will turn out. Just adjust and trust the process that is unfolding before you. For example in 2000, I decided I wanted to leave corporate America and be an astrologer full time. I didn‘t actually leave to be an astrologer until a year later but I planted the dream. In 1988, I left a job I had loved because the industry was dying, (timeshared computer services sold to executives) and went off to another kind of sales job. Which I hated. The next year, I realized clients still needed support with their computers, now called Personal Computers and started my computer services company. In 1976, I graduated from college, moved to New York and started working in the Insurance Industry. A year later, I switched to computers and learned programming and sales. In 1964, I came to New York City for the first time for the World’s Fair and fell in love with it ~ not realizing it would become my home. So I know I am starting something that will switch up next year but the seeds are being sowed THIS year. Think back on YOUR patterns in 2000, 1988, 1976, 1964 and back further in 12 year increments to see the new cycle starting in your Taurus house.
Venus’ Day Friday September 23 Moon in Leo is calling all of us to be creative as Sun enters Libra today officially starting the fall season. It is the day when the Sun crosses the equator making the days and nights equal and beginning the shift towards a new season in both hemispheres. Mars trines Uranus so expect the unexpected this season as well as today. Mars trine Uranus in the Season Ingress chart, the chart cast for the start of the season, promises plenty of surprises and new beginnings or fun results from things that you started in the summer of last year. Mars also works with the Nodes of Fate, pulling and pushing things into and out of your life today and all season. Mars in Leo wants you to spend time today and this season on the things that you love to do. Why waste time on the other stuff you don’t like? Dissolve away from that stuff you don’t like and move actively towards the “I LIKE THIS” stuff. Saturn also trines and sextile the Nodes of Destiny today offering us a choice and opportunity in our relationships and the structures we want to build in our lives over the next 29 years. Pallas’ station turning direct encourages us to see our patterns in a way that is healing instead of difficult, blaming or that you did something wrong. For example, you always were aware of NOT being nurtured as child AND you seem to attract folks that need nurturing but who have difficulty giving back. So you nurture away yet are resentful about the lack of nurturing you receive in return. The key word in there is NURTURE. That is your pattern. That actually is your NEED. You can change your relationship to NURTURE by becoming conscious. And you can start to nurture yourself so you send out to the world a nurtured energy instead of an un-nurtured energy. Remember the sayings ~ like attracts like ~ birds of a feather ~ you are judged by the company you keep. All those sayings are how the universe keeps sending you folks that need to be nurtured. See the pattern. Find the key word. And go about satisfying it in yourself so you are full and satiated.
Saturn’s Day Saturday September 24 Moon in Leo is creative and proud as it helps you clarify desire. Should be a very fun day and night. Mercury has a trine to Pallas, further clarifying yesterdays understanding of your patterns. It works with grocery shopping too ~ if you go grocery shopping when you are hungry, what do you bring home? When you go to the grocery with a list AND hungry what do you bring home? When you go to the grocery with a list AND you are FULL from having eaten (satisfying your need for food) what do you bring home? Most of the time, we don‘t satisfy our own needs so we go shopping hungry and bring home our pattern food instead of what is good for us to eat and what we really want and truly need. Just think of that relationship issue you are scuffling about as the grocery store. I know, part of you is squawking that it is not that easy. But another part of you knows that yes, maybe there is some truth in that. The only way to see if it is true is to TRY it out ~ conduct a little experiment and see what happens. Sun is in conjunct Chiron so you are a bit nervous about what happens if the changes you are requesting don’t happen. Or if you change your pattern, you will not be attractive to the partner. Well, you’ll know the truth. And you will have to deal with it. And that isn’t always fun. But living a life that is half a life is not fun either. Sometimes Libras say “Better a bad relationship than no relationship at all!”. Is that your truth? Take the name out of the relationship and imagine describing it to yourself as your best friend to yourself. What would you say as your best friend to yourself about the behavior? And what would you want for your best friend but the best? Back to Matt’s Freedom Chant to free yourself from patterns that are limiting: “I’m sick and tired of being sick and tired. Sun’s day, Sunday September 25 Moon is in Virgo and forms a grand trine in Earth with Jupiter and Pluto. Take your revelations over the past few days and put them to good use. Ground the patterns you’ve figured out into reality. Push them a bit. Rearrange them. Understand what the universe was trying to help you get clear on and clear out (remember Pluto wants you to transform that pattern ~ he is in Capricorn, Saturn‘s sign. Mercury enters Libra so conversations lighten up and are not so detail oriented ~ bit more frivolous and balanced. Neptune gets a bit of a rocket fuel from Zeus and Venus ~encouraging him to launch his energy out into the world ~ so get working on that creative project and get it ready to send out the door on the new Moon next week. Sun is opposite Uranus so expect break through, break downs, break outs and break ups tonight. Suddenly EVERY thing feels SO clear. It is also a high energy night so allow it to explode or expand. Love is in the air tonight. Enjoy it!

Instructor Biography
Anne Ortelee is a charming, personable, funny and delightful astrological analyst, coach and speaker who educates and assists her clients or students with their life changes, growth spurts, evolution, integration and personal understanding of their world using astrology as an interpretive tool.
Anne provides in-depth astrological consultations for her clients. She teaches classes, workshops and speaks to groups in New York City and the regional area. Her articles appear in various publications and on the internet. Anne hosts three internet radio shows on Blogtalkradio.com. and writes a weekly column about what we can expect in the events in the world. The column is read in 143 countries around the world by thousands of readers.
Anne has lectured at astrology conferences since December of 1998. She was recently selected to speak at UAC in May 2012, an International Astrology Conference which features over 160 of the world‘s top astrologers.
Anne is certified as an astrologer nationally and internationally. She attained ISAR-CAP ~ Certified Astrological Professional from the International Society for Astrological Research. Prior to discovering astrology, Anne was a methods, procedures and statistical business analyst (3 years), computer programmer (5 years), technical software sales woman (7 years) and owner of a computer consulting firm (9 years). She also worked for America’s second largest beverage firm, traveling across America (4 years), installing a computer system that kept track of every vending machine, visi-cooler and fountain in America!
