I want to apologize for last week’s column! I was SO excited that the orchestra was FINALLY tuning up AND that we were past the majority of the difficult aspects that I overlooked the impact of Venus in her last degrees of Virgo setting off that new moon eclipse! I am SO SORRY! I kind of slip slided right over her as the cosmic orchestra fell silent on Thursday and Friday.
Well, silent was the wrong word for Venus in Virgo on the Eclipse degree! I forgot how difficult she can be when she‘s in Virgo. Actually, I didn’t forget her; I just kind of ignored her as I was so excited that she was finally getting out of Virgo as Saturn and Pluto were moving into their fire trine! I did forget what a bitch she can be! While the orchestra and rest of the audience WAS quiet in anticipation of the conductor‘s signal and you were sitting there fanning yourself with your Playbill, you and that carping, virago of a Venus Virgo in the sky had a couple of days for YOUR brain and HER critical energy to carry on in heated whispers. It included quite a bit of outsized drama, albeit in whispers or indirect communications with arched eyebrows and perhaps a few tears, about a situation that is SO difficult in your life! I forgot to warn you to tell Venus to shut up, hush down, be quiet and stop nagging at you! Venus, stop already with the obsessing, worrying and criticizing!! Don’t you know that every thing is about to change!?
Now, before we go any further, I want you to go back and review what happened to you last Thursday and Friday. What did you beat yourself up about? What did you cry about? What were you upset about? THAT is the situation I want you to look at and simply accept. YES, IT IS THAT way right now. HOWEVER, it DOES NOT HAVE TO STAY that WAY, for a single second longer. You have to adjust your attitude toward it. You have to revise YOUR vision of yourself. You have to move toward what you want to create in your life! Yes, it IS that way right NOW. It does NOT have to stay that way. Your earlier vision of how or what or who you were or had to be created the situation you feel trapped in or don‘t like so much any more. Face it; you’ve graduated from the difficult fixed cross transits we endured all last year. You survived your bull fight. You learned a bunch of stuff about yourself and your world. You watched a tree or three fall in the forest of your life. You know that if you do your Saturn, do your work, you’ll have a different outcome. You have to do your Saturn. You have to change your approach, be a bit nicer to yourself, and understand how you helped create the situation. That said, the situation in your life NOW is the by- product and end result of decisions you made BACK when you were in a different place in your life. NOW, that Venus is in her favorite sign of Libra of balance and relationship and partnering, I want you to make NEW decisions and move toward balance, relating, and partnering with what you want in your life. You attracted that other situation because it matched your energy. Now go attract NEW stuff that matches your NEW energy.
Its time for the hummingbirds to migrate south following the sun. My family has a “thing” for hummingbirds. Brilliant pots of flowers decorate our various porches. All summer, we watch the darting; hovering tiny birds that seem to float free of time, worry and trouble as they move among the soft gentleness of flowers. However, hummingbirds are tough little critters too! So tiny yet SO assertive of their territory and their right to a particular patch of their garden. Hummingbirds inspire us to savor the singular joy of the moments in our lives and drink in life’s sweetness. They live in the moment, doing their work and enjoying the world. We spot them kissing the rich, brilliant flowers scattered along a garden path or swaying gently in a hanging pot. We exalt in their nimbleness and focus as they dash off to the next and the next and the next flower of a garden. We marvel as they focus on their job and stop magically in the air at the edge of the bloom’s opening. We chuckle as they defend their part of the garden. So tiny, yet so very fierce!
So how can you be more like a hummingbird in your own life? Relish each flower by flower by flower? Garden by garden? Not attached? Watchful? Enjoying abundance? How are you going to assert your right to your patch of dreams and blooms? Our week ahead features a full moon in Aries and Libra as Juno in Virgo joins with the South Node of Obsessions and squares our friend Pluto. Plus a bunch of other aspects that will be asking for our attention. Fortunately, the day BEFORE the FULL moon, Mercury in Scorpio, ruler of that Virgo Juno, squares Chiron in Aquarius ~ it will be CLEAR what we need to do, even if we aren‘t sure we want to.
Now Juno’s job is to preserve the order and structure of things. That is what Juno’s all about ~ tradition, order, and the “proper” manner of how things are supposed to be. Juno was Zeus’s wife. Zeus was a philandering husband ~ jump it, hump it, dump it ~ he definitely had Venus or Mars in Aries! See a skirt and get it. Did Juno say or do anything to Zeus? Nope. Juno went after all of the WOMEN Zeus pursued! Do you see the problem? Zeus was off the hook. Juno went after, and punished, or took revenge on, the women ~ not old jolly Zeus. We all have Juno in our charts. We’ve made a bargain with keeping the tradition, order and proper manner of how things are supposed to be to preserve something we think must be guarded or protected at all costs. We want to be “perfect” some how, some place. We then become over assertive hummingbirds defending our territory ~ guarding our unique blooms against all comers.
I was in the jungle greenhouse at the Central Park Zoo as the bird keeper pointed out a teeny, tiny, male hummingbird hovering at the tippy top of the arched citadel. He was guarding the garden of flowers and, apparently, quite a fierce fellow. He had a bird’s eye view of all competitors, dove after them and quickly darted back up to his lofty perch. I looked around at the abundance of flowers and life in the greenhouse. All the other hummingbirds were quite happy. For the most part they were ignoring him. They had a grand time dashing from flower to flower. He wasn’t enjoying the flowers at all! It took so much energy for him to guard his flowers! He was preserving a kind of bizarre order that he felt had to be kept “or else”. Think of how much energy you’ve spent guarding that area of your life? How many hours? How much of your blooms have faded as you‘ve worried away days protecting the blooms? The Gloxinias aren’t going to last forever!
Who have you been tilting and arguing with like an angry Juno rather than living your life? Why are you focusing your energy on Zeus’ conquests instead of where it needs to be directed ~ at the source? No, Zeus is NOT the source! You are the source. You decided to guard your blooms rather than enjoying them. You are staying with your version of a philandering Zeus to keep or preserve a traditional order that needs to collapse. You don’t have to do it any more. Change! Don’t guard those blooms. Have a sit down with Zeus (or not). Stop obsessing over who he is sleeping with or what he is doing. Gotta let it go now. Just get out there and enjoy that garden. Live your life. Migrate following your own sun to your new garden. Big, wide world out there. Lots of flowers.
Monday, Mercury enters Scorpio. No more dillydallying with your thinking energy. Mercury is on a mission to resolve triangles and get all parts of the puzzle together to solve the problem. Ceres stations going direct at 12 Aquarius. Last June 21, as Sun entered Cancer, Ceres stationed at 26:57 Aquarius. You remember ~ that hideous Mercury retrograde at the beginning of the summer? Well Ceres has been figuring out what she wants to create
since she’s began movi
ng retrograde back then. She‘s moving forward again. Time to migrate toward what you want to create. I want you announcing what you want to create to every single person you meet!
Tuesday, Zeus is home with lipstick on his collar. Again! You have a choice. Venus’ aspects to Chiron and Jupiter suggest you are able to make the choice today. Uranus pushes off from Pallas by declination. I know, for such a smart person you do seem to get yourself into these repetitive pickles. And, you help other people with this stuff ALL the time. Are you ready to break your pattern? Please? And go find your own garden?
Wednesday will either be very good or very bad. If you’ve been working your Saturn and moving along, the Universe will take advantage of today’s aspects and give you a “bon mot” or good word of encouragement. If you’ve been whining and carrying on, the Universe, in the form of one of your people in your world, will smack you gently on your forehead and say “Idiot, THIS is what you still haven’t gotten.” The way these things work, most likely, it will be a mix of both (we are, after all, works in progress and NOT perfect). Take any criticism and modify your approach (if need be). Or accept any accolades and keep on keeping on ~with your eyes focused on your goals like the hummingbird does on the flower he‘s working with. Most likely you were being a bit over the top. The whole thing is about balance and realizing the energy has to match on either side. If you are dramatic, they are dramatic! If you are calm, cool, collected and focused on your stuff, they pretty much leave you alone. The world is going to be in the mood for hummingbird drama queens and divas all over the place to be pitching fits, fighting and guarding their flowers! Don’t fight over a silly flower. Just go find another bloom to suck on. No, I don’t want to hear how they are mean and you deserve that flower. Suck it up. Go suck on another flower.
Thursday, depending on what happened yesterday, there’s an adjustment. Remember that silly little hummingbird up there guarding the roof, not drinking from the flowers of abundance all around him. Instead he was completely focused on what the OTHER hummingbirds were doing. I know, you think all the other hummingbirds are talking to each other about what happened. Yep they probably are. For about 15 minutes. Then the other hummingbirds are moving on with their lives and their flowers. They aren’t going to care a bit more. So, why do you still feel bad? Honestly, do you care? When you are 95, will this matter? Sure it stings a bit now. But in the big picture scheme of things, it is a learning experience, like all the other learning experiences you will have. Put it in perspective. Will you just go do your Saturn, focus on finding a delicious flower or two, hover with other birds you like and let go of the situation please? You can guard your flowers with all your might. Or you can realize that by guarding them, you are creating the very same drama you said you don’t want any more. Sun’s aspect to Pluto suggests you figure out how the distractions you are focusing on keep you from doing your favorite things ~ you know those things you keep saying you want. Why? Because if you did what you wanted to do, you’d have to face the possibility of failure, loss and not getting what you want. Pretty scary isn’t it? You are forgetting there are lots of other flowers in the garden! It’s a big, wide world, just packed full of flowers and opportunities. Don’t focus on guarding one silly flower or that stupid Zeus‘s belt buckle. If you do, you will over water it and kill it or pick on some poor woman who didn‘t do much of anything to you (even if she did do stuff with your Zeus). They can’t do it to you, unless you let them. Look at the garden of abundance before you. Move along
Friday has our full moon, a harvest moon, and a bunch of aspects indicating choice. Now, Juno is in Virgo ruled by Mercury in Scorpio. Juno is squaring Pluto and sinking into the South Node. Decision time. Do you want to keep spending your time killing off the women who Zeus chases? Or keep defending your garden from other hummingbirds? Is it worth all the energy you are spending holding it together? Is it worth your time? Is it worth your soul? Is it worth your life? Hopefully, you said no, no, no, no, no, and no. What we focus on we create. If you don’t like what you have in your life right now, focus on creating something else, not defending the silly stuff that you don‘t much like any more any way. Do you see how defending it prevents you from living your own life? Please say yes to that question. If you don’t say yes, call one of your more opinionated friends (who HATES to see you spending your life like this) and ask them to yell at you to give it up and go do what you want for heaven‘s sake!
Saturday, Mercury joins with Neptune by declination as Pluto and Juno perfect their square making the beginning and the end of something. Full moons make things pop so expect a deflating kind of energy today. Put the balloon fragments in the garbage. The party is over. On you go.
Sunday, Mercury joins with Pluto by declination. That means that Neptune and Pluto are right close to each other and joining by declination. I want you doing your Saturn and working toward your dream with the best, happiest, smiling, perkiest, busiest face you can summon up. It isn’t about winning. That implies losing. And that gets you caught in the drama of win/lose. Who cares!? Plenty to go around. Lots of flowers in the garden. Get busy. You can always buzz right over if you need to tend to a situation. Be like a hummingbird ~ get busy filling up your belly! Your migration is around the corner!
MUNDANE: Friday, September 29, 2006, was the day the rule of law of the United States was replaced by the rule of one man, the Decider-In-Chief and his friends. Who could believe that we, the citizens of the United States, would be debating whether we SHOULD torture people much less vote YES WE CAN torture people into our laws? Who could believe that we, the citizen of the United States, would say it was okay to hold people without trial, suspend habeas corpus and “disappear” them for years on end as we tortured them? We KNOW two USA citizens have “disappeared”, for YEARS, into gulags run by the Bush Administration and emerged claiming they were tortured. We know the answer to “Are other USA citizens being held without charge?” is “CLASSIFIED”. I would translate that as a yes. We know we ARE holding other citizens of earth, and torturing them, in our prisons around the world, ignoring the Geneva Conventions. We can legally torture people under our brand new laws! It is okay! We are hiring talented folks, paying good wages, providing benefits like health insurance for them, their spouse and kids and a decent pensions for when they get old. And their job is to go and torture people for me! I am so ashamed!!
What astrological configuration signifies this major change in the United States laws? Venus, in her fall at 29 Virgo, set off the new moon eclipse from September 22, 2006 at 29 Virgo. That last degree Virgo degree is in the 9th house of the USA chart, near to Neptune. The whole mess of an eclipse of the rule of law is in an earth trine to Pluto. Solar Arc Uranus in Capricorn is conjunct that USA Pluto and the SOUTH NODE of loss. Read the new law~ it is SO vague that regular plain old citizens of the United States who write columns like this, or associate with people like me who write columns like this (that means YOU dear reader because the government knows what websites you read) could get thrown into jail. Yep, thrown in Jail for EVER for associating with the likes of me who criticizes the President in public. Read the Law! It is scary!
And those frigging idiots who say, “It is okay with me if my government
tortures people and locks them up forever. I don‘t care if I am being wiretapped. I am not doing anything wrong.” need to go for remedial history lessons. And THEN they need to take the test to become a citizen of our country again before they can vote or talk on our public airwaves. Let’s apply some of that No Child Left Behind testing money to address the clear educational deficiencies in our elected officials and idiotic citizens who use fear to justify taking or giving away the rights of other people. We have nothing to fear but fear itself!
My Thursday and Friday Venus in Virgo whispering in my ear revolved around writing this Mundane Section of the column on a weekly basis. I’ve read my history and know we are on a fast track to fascist neo conservative land. Did you know that NAZI means Proud Citizen of Germany? Have you noticed how the steps that Hitler (a questionably elected official with major father issues, who claimed God was on his side) parallels the steps that our current government is taking? ‘Homeland’ to the right to invade countries to the Patriot act to the massive war debt to the fear mongering to the death squads to torture to disappearing to well, you know where. Go read your history books!
I italicized the sections of the Bill of Rights eliminated over the past five years under the new United States of Bush. Please register to vote, turn out in record numbers and throw these bums out of office!
