“I call upon you to draw from the depths of your being — to prove that we are a human race, to prove that our love outweighs our need to hate, that our compassion is more compelling than our need to blame.”
Elizabeth Taylor
It’s the “end of an era” over the next two weeks. Imaginary, profound, illusion, delusional and redemptive Neptune moves out of Aquarius and into Pisces and a series of profound planetary aspects combine with that 164 year old transition to offer us a two week period of profound change in our lives and our world. Neptune takes 164 years to move around our Sun. No one currently alive on earth has ever experienced the energy we are about to experience this week. This is literally a once in a life time moment!
Neptune is entering his favorite sign, Pisces, the sign of interconnection, dreams, universality and oceans. But that is next week. Before that, THIS week, we have to wrap up our 14 year Aquarius journey.
Neptune entered Aquarius on January 28 and November 27 of 1998. Back then we were in the throes of Y2K anxiety as computer programmers, myself included, worked long, long hours to get all the old software programs converted before the dates switched over from 19xx to 20xx. Since then computers and cell phones have proliferated as our lives are increasing stored and accessed digitally. We’ve become “addicted”, a totally Neptune word, to our computers and digital devices. The way people used to walk around carrying their cigarette packs, we walk around with our cell phones, ipads, ipods, droids, crack berries and music devices. Think of all the changes that have taken place in the land of Neptune ~ our image versions of the collective world ~ including Aquarian networks of people collaborating such as email, linked in, my space, Face book, tweeting and other social media.
So lets look back 177 years ago to 1834 when Neptune last entered Aquarius. The events give us an idea of what Aquarius meant ~ Darwin began his research project which led to “The Origin of the Species” which postulated evolution and proposed survival of the fittest, the first use of US troops to suppress labor disputes, 1st interstate crime compact was ratified between NY-NJ, French Foreign Legion was founded, rioters in Safed Palestine killed many Jews, Mount Vesuvius erupted, slavery was abolished through the British Empire, George Eastman patented paper strip photographic film, the London Parliament catches fire, destroying part of it as well as historic documents, the battle of Pinjarra took place in Australia between the Aborigines and British Colonists while the USA Congress created the Indian Territory in Oklahoma and the Kiowa Indians recorded it as the night the stars fell. Marshall Field, founder of Field Department stores was born in 1834 so while Neptune traveled through Aquarius, Field Department stores ceased to exist ~ absorbed and renamed Macy’s.
Over the next week, we will wrap up our Neptune dream stories from 1998 as people from these years seek to connect and get in contact with us.
We have Mercury stationing to go retrograde until April 23rd. Mercury is at 24 Aries and moving back to stop on the degree of this week’s New Moon at 13:30 Aries.
We also have some whopping big, Big, BIG planetary aspects in the week ahead: Sun square Pluto, Jupiter opposite Saturn, Mars square the Nodes of fate on the world axis, Mercury’s station going retrograde, Neptune and Jupiter semi square, Mars entering Aries and joining with Uranus on the world axis, A bright and shiny New Moon at the degree of Mercury’s station. All this happens before NEXT week when Neptune changes signs and Pluto slows to station retrograde at 7:30 Capricorn. We are going to be rocking and rolling for the next two weeks ~ but particularly THIS week as the build up and action takes place before those two profound shifts NEXT week.
Plus there is a bunch of other stuff that I LEFT OUT that would be a column any other time! So stay flexible and nimble. Pay attention. Flexible and Nimble. Pay attention.
During weeks like the week ahead we need to focus on the vision of where we want to go. So many things will be flying by our ears that we don’t have time to “process” the way we normally do. We’ll be bouncing from one thing to the next as we work in the community section of the zodiac emotionally. We’ll recognize our position as part and parcel of the world around us. We ARE important. We ARE needed. We have our role as a human being.
As Liz Taylor said “ Prove that your love outweighs your need to hate, that your compassion is more compelling than your need to blame.” Watch out for those blame game tricks that suck you in. How can you help? How can you love? How can you be compassionate?
All THAT said, we still have to figure out what to DO with the accumulation of energy awaiting before us this week.
My childhood friend Anne D is an Aries with a Scorpio Moon and Capricorn rising. Eminently practical, she takes ACTION ~ especially when in “moments of stress”. No slacker, she gets more accomplished in a morning than most folks do in a month. She’ll fly places because it gets her there, NOT because she likes to fly. One day, while flying on a very turbulent, small airplane, her desire to take action struck. She got out her felt tip sharpie and started writing her social security number on her various body parts as the plane tossed and turned in the heavens. The man next to her, noticed her writing on her various limbs and asked WHAT she was doing. Tersely, she replied, “I‘m writing my social security number on my body parts so they will know to put them back together if the ^&* %$#@ plane crashes.” And she continued to write that number on the rest of her limbs.
Our week ahead features a few choices: 1) Complete clarity about what you need to do; 2) so Overwhelmed where you may feel you need to write your social security number on your body parts; 3) Protect yourself from danger. Do take action if you have to; and 4) Wait and see until you get more clarity.
As the aspects are tremendous, we’ll start with the harder ones first ~ number 3: Protect yourself from danger.
IF you have some crazy or violent person in your life who has been threatening you, an order of protection, or are in a relationship that features violence or anger, this is the week to run for the hills. This is a “shooter” week where the crazies feel they have to kill you to control you. Run out the back door if you see them coming in the front door. Avoid arguments. LEAVE for your physical safety. The planet of war and violence is joining with the planet of sudden and out of control actions. Seriously ~ take their threats seriously! Call the police. Tell your employer so THEY call the police if your ex or arguing controlling crazy comes to your place of employment. And you LEAVE! GO!
Number 4 ~ Wait for more information IF YOU ARE NOT IN PHYSICAL DANGER. You can get flooded with too much information to process and shut down emotionally, leading to bad choices. Don’t take action. Pay attention. Listen. Defer the decision until you are clearer. Similar to shock after an accident, you are mobile but not able to hook on to reality. So sit by the side of the road and wait until you are clearer. You will be clearer after the New Moon on April 3.
Number 2 ~ write your social security number on your body parts. Sometimes you can’t do a darn thing. My friend Anne couldn’t leave her seat. She’s not a pilot. No parachute. She had to ride it out. Prayer wasn’t working for her. She COULD write her social security number on her body parts. This is the bring chicken soup to a sick friend. Bake a casserole for the gathering after the funeral. You have to wait it out but you need to DO something. So do what you can. Do what you can, including writing your social security number on your body parts. It IS oddly comforting…
And, hopefully, it will be 1) complete clarity about what you need to do. These aspects are exceptionally clarifying. If you’ve been running around in a bit of a undecided morass, you’ll get the clarity this week. Maybe TOO much clarity, but clarity is clarity. So thank it for sharing with you and take its advice to heart.
So onto the aspects, after all that is why you are here:
Sun square Pluto and Jupiter opposite Saturn on Monday ~ activating our t-square from last summer as well as finishing up the third of three hits of Jupiter opposite Saturn ~ Back to June 2000 when you started the current story in your Taurus house. A new 20 year cycle began then. Now you are at the halfway mark, being asked to make corrections or adjustments as needed. The two society relationship planets are standing across the sky from each other, looking at you and asking you to choose. Choose wisely. Go for your heart’s desire even if it is a difficult choice to make.
Mars square the Nodes of fate on the world axis asks us to make a choice on Tuesday. Mars is at the last degree of Pisces so he’s pushing for your emotional evolutionary growth. Again choose for the growth. Go for the big picture, not the gossipy blame part. What CAN YOU DO? Take action, even if it means writing your social security number on your left thigh.
Mercury’s station going retrograde as Neptune and Jupiter semi square each other on Wednesday. The world stands still and watches. Mercury is stopped at 24 Aries where the Sabian image is “A double promise reveals its inner and outer meanings.” The message reverses. Neptune and Jupiter are semi square so back to May, July and December 2009 to see the cycle that started THEN wants you to adjust and shift the air vision into some new form of passion.
Friday Mars enters Aries and joins with Uranus on the world axis on Sunday as a bright and shiny New Moon takes place at the degree of Mercury’s upcoming April station. Mars into Aries finishes a two year cycle that started in April 2009. He also STARTS a new two year cycle that ends in March of 2013. And of course, he’s on the world axis so we can expect fire works, fires, conflagrations, fights, passions and general Martian craziness. Of MORE interest is his first union with Uranus on the world axis Sunday which brings all of us into the story as witnesses or players.
We live in interesting times…
Moon’s day, Monday March 28 Moon in Aquarius for the next three days suggest you are inspired and able to zip through things even as the world rocks and rolls around you. Focus on your vision and what you can accomplish. No side visions or distractions. No fighting if you can help it. Focus on your vision. Jupiter opposes Saturn finishing up your ability to change the project you began in 2000~ push for those changes you’ve identified since last spring to the bigger vision you have of your life. Vesta squares Apollon asking you to expand and take action on your vision of what is home and hearth for you. Venus joins with Uranus by parallel so unexpected emotions or desires can pop out of nowhere, suddenly and startle you. Sun squares Pluto so you have a sense of limitation about exactly what is possible as well as a vision of how it can or might change if you push for it. Health issues can pop ~ especially health things around the home. Wash your hands ~figuratively and literally. Is there really anything you can do about it? No. So don’t sweat the smaller stuff.
Tuesday Mars’ day March 29 Moon is still in Aquarius asking about your commitment to the community and the groups that you love or are involved with. Mars squares the Nodes of Destiny on the world axis. Choices made today are critical and life altering. Give yourself permission to envision or plan for your next dream or chapter of where you want to go. Venus joins with Ceres ~ all creative projects that are born of us are started with a desire. People have been talking to me lately about what their desires are ~ often they have desires they have never had before in their lives. Hard workers want to retire. Career people want relationships. Relationship people want careers. Everyone wants something that is meaningful to THEM. And the meaningful things seem to be changing. So give yourself permission to change what is meaningful to you and plan for that new vision. Venus joins with Chiron asking us to examine old wounds around our desires and look at them with fresh, and unwounded eyes. So say you’ve always taken care of yourself because you weren’t taken care of as a child. And now, at your ripe old age in 2011, you find yourself longing to be taken care of. That is exactly where you are supposed to be. What was the childhood story that you worked so hard AGAINST for most of your life? Can you relax INTO a new version of your story? Can you embrace a new understanding or integration of who you are? That is the question the planets are asking us to consider. Work with the stars ~ con ~ connect to the siders ~ stars. Relax into a new version of your life. Plan what it can be.
Wednesday Mercury’s day March 30 Moon in Aquarius asks us to figure out a new way of relating. Mercury stations today so yesterday, today and tomorrow are important communication days. Moon works with Mercury as he stops at 24 Aries. There are always two versions (or more) of reality. Today stay flexible and nimble in your version of accepted reality, learned truths, and untold (or told) lies and half stories. People lie for a reason ~ to prevent, to protect, from fear, from anger, to hurt. It is time to focus on the WHY of the lie not the fact of the lie. The story changes today as we move to separate and face the choices that we never wanted to face. Chiron joins with Ceres in early Pisces ~ there is a wounding taking place to the creative part of us and the deepest primal place in our being. Saturn asks us to take some time off so we can recover and reconnect. Go to bed early if you can. Retreat to your quiet place. Even if you just sit quietly and close your eyes. Jupiter and Neptune combine air and fire to combust and create a back draft or a blow back into the karma of the matter. Admetos says we don’t know what to do. And we don’t. So write your social security number on your thigh or bake a casserole as we are moving forward, ready or not.
Thursday, Jupiter’s day March 31 Moon is void virtually all day long in Pisces after 9:43 am EDT. We have a series of LONG void moons as so many planets are the beginning of the signs. Void moons say nothing will come of it and the world is functioning (or attempting to function) without the guidance of the emotional balance ~ we are in a very unusual place as the Moon steps back and lets nature take its course. She’s void until Saturday morning as Mars dances through the last degrees of Pisces. Mars will enter Aries before the Moon does so he operates without any controls as the Moon is resting, eating bon-bons and watching him go wild, simply wild as Mars triggers the world axis, eclipse degrees, the tsunami degree and the initial explosions of the nuclear power plant. Mars without rules in his fall at a highly unstable degree makes about to breach out of the ocean like a whale driving to shore is a scary thought. And we have from 9:43 am EDT today to 7:16 am EDT Saturday morning with a Void Moon not supervising the rest of the planets in their various behaviors. Venus realizes she has lost her ability to connect and control in the ways she is used to…. Mars is square to Hades and the Sun is semi square to Admetos indicating things fail and end. It is the end of the road. The next few days are profound days of endings as the lack of supervision of Mars and the other planets by the Moon marks release, release, release. Neptune at his last degrees is all about release, release, release. Let the changes flow over your being and release into the cosmos, the earth, the ethers the things you no longer need.
Venus’ day, Friday April 1 Moon in Pisces continues her void journey for another day. You might as well turn off your computer and head for home…. Venus semi squares Eris so the energy is not a happy one with a bit of discord in the air from the feminine. Take the energy to clear out and clean out and release. Neptune is so hovering at the point of his release as the whole world waits and watches. Wait and watch. Mars pushes on Neptune and slowly, slowly, like in slow motion, a cascade of event takes place and tips us, gently, then faster and faster, swirling into the depths of the ocean, the insides of our passions, the heart of our being. What is your life for if not for moments like this? Alive and so enervated. Alive and so tremulous. Alive. Celebrate your life.
Saturn’s day April 2 Mars enters Aries at 12:51 am ~ late Friday night or early Saturday morning. And suddenly we are in a new reality. The Lord of War is in his favorite sign, the martial, military sign of action taking fire. Venus hugs Mars as he heads out to battle. Moon enters Aries and emotionally we are all action taking Indian scouts and people who plan ahead. We also can be in the mood to fight ~ turn that energy out into the world so others can work with you and harness those visions onto and into the future. Neptune at the last degrees and minutes of his journey in Aquarius kick starts a change in your home and hearth. The time of Aquarian dreams is finished. Now the dreams will be for your soul’s path as it ties into your life and the needs of your soul. Chiron and Jupiter both aspect Astraea suggesting vast illnesses spreading rapidly. This is a great aspect for flues or colds that everyone seems to have at the same time ~ especially bronchial issues. Vesta opens her home up to groups and connections with friends. Venus in Pisces ~ the pleas of the people and gentle kind love, works with Pluto and asks him pretty, please. Pluto has reached the degree of his station next week so he simply smiles at Venus and shakes his head, sadly, the answer will have to be no. Venus then turns to Saturn and Zeus riding together at 13 Libra and has an aspect of brilliance with them. Well, if Pluto says no, maybe Zeus and Saturn can work with her to show the consequences of the actions taken. Pay attention to what surfaces today. Sun is sesquiquadrate Hygeia suggesting stress and action steps that must be taken around health and life or death matters.
Sun’s day April 3 Moon in Aries joins with the Sun in a New Moon at the upcoming degree of Mercury’s station and inconjunct to Venus’ long back and forth in Scorpio all last fall. Ah the dreams and hopes and desires are dancing. The New Moon is opposite Saturn and Zeus offering us several powerful oppositions that push us off into a new reality today. After today, it will all feel different. A new world will be born. Similar to giving birth to a child, we, as humans, are giving birth to ourselves. Mars joins with Uranus at 4:51 pm EDT so watch for explosions around that time. Mars/Uranus are pretty amazing in their timing accuracy. Venus works in an aspect of brilliance with the Nodes of Destiny so we see the world in an entirely different way than we did yesterday. Amazing what a shift can do isn’t it? Venus gazes into hell and turns her face. Structures fail and collapse before our eyes. Tomorrow Neptune enters Pisces for the first time since 1834 ~ a new cycle begins. We just had a once in a life time kind of day.
MUNDANE: Sun square Pluto, Jupiter opposite Saturn, Mars square the Nodes of fate, Mercury’s station, Neptune and Jupiter semi square, Mars entering Aries and joining with Uranus just as Neptune changes signs and Pluto slows to station retrograde at 7:30 Capricorn means a busy, busy, busy news week. So, here’s my best guess as to how, in order, it goes down ~ Sun square Pluto ~ we have to face something we don’t want to see; Jupiter opposite Saturn ~ we can’t stop or hold something back any more, we have to separate; Mercury retrograde ~ we reverse what we’ve been saying since March 10; Neptune and Jupiter semi-square ~ air and fire ~ stand back when the air hits the fire or the fire hits the air causing a release, an explosion of fire ~ the firefighters call it back draft; Mars enters Fire from Water ~ so water is no longer able to contain the fire’s heat and boils the water off; Mars joins to Uranus in accelerating, cardinal action taking fire~ causing one humdinger of an explosion and eruption. And we haven’t gotten to the Neptune changing signs or Pluto’s station. Something mighty big is blowing up next week.
That all sounds very much like the nuclear power plant in Japan blowing up. However, as Uranus is involved and I know he loves to play tricks it could show up, in that order, in other places. Some possible places: Earthquakes taking place in the Ring of Fire. Earthquakes taking place in the USA ~ particularly New Madrid fault line in the middle of USA on Mississippi River or San Francisco, CA. In looking at Los Angeles chart, I don’t think an earthquake will be in the south of California. If you cast the Aries Ingress for San Francisco, the picture is very similar to the one for Japan’s recent quake except it is fire instead of water. So no tsunami ~ but lots of fire. Volcano eruptions ~ back to Iceland for part two of volcano sisters ~ Eyjafjallajökull volcano blew up and her sister nearby volcano, Katla, didn’t. Normally the girls go off together with Katla being the more “mean” sister as she is larger. The aspects are back to trigger that second eruption that never happened. The promised USA stock market collapse ~ if it goes, it will go in the next two weeks as the points of 2010 that we astrologers were all watching anxiously, May, August and November, are all active again. If the stock market doesn’t go this next couple of weeks, it is safe to get back in the water of investing, gently and slowly. Or some unforeseen thing we don’t have on our radar screen ~ nuclear terrorist attack? Something big. And I am betting on nuclear as being part of it based on information from another astrologer, Dave Roell.
Dave Roell’s recent Newsletter pointed out that the degrees between 7 and 9 of Capricorn seem to be implicated in known nuclear events ~experimental tests, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Three Mile Island, Chernobyl and whenever some new nation figures out how to make a nuclear device and blows it up causing the rest of us to go “Oh, they have the bomb too!” Pluto is stationing at 7:30 Capricorn next week as all the other aspects go down before it. Dave’s newsletter is free and EXCELLENT ~ sign up for it at Astroamerica.com.
So, because of Dave’s hot nuclear degrees AND because the Mercury retrograde started on March 10 with the “we have the fire under control” comments out of Japan AND because of the whopping set of aspects that read we have to face something we don’t want to see; we can’t stop or hold something back any more, we have to separate; we reverse what we’ve been saying since March 10; air and fire combine ~ stand back when the air hits the fire or the fire hits the air causing a release, an explosion of fire ~ the firefighters call it back draft; so water is no longer able to contain the fire’s heat and boils the water off; accelerating, cardinal action taking fire~ causing one humdinger of an explosion and eruption. And we STILL haven’t gotten to the Neptune changing signs or Pluto’s station. Something mighty big is blowing up over the next couple of weeks.

I received a great email from Fi Z regarding the upcoming Neptune transition into Pisces. I completely agree with Fi. I will add as Neptune leaves Aquarius many of our personal inspirational people or “acquaintance level” people will leaving the planet and our lives. Acquaintance level as they are our 11th house people. These planetary energetic transitions between signs are tough on people who are “lingering” or poor in health.
