Another eclipse! Another eclipse! You would think the cosmos LOVES eclipses the way they keep rolling into our lives! We have the third and final eclipse, a solar one, of the season on July 1. It will be a New Moon Solar Eclipse at 9:12 Cancer visible to the penguins at the South Pole.
A crossroad appears in our lives this week. The eclipse is part of a Cardinal cross forming with three of the malefic planets in the heavens, Uranus, Saturn and Pluto, in a t-square. We have an emotional week before us.
Last week, Mercury rolled through the t-square delivering news you did NOT want to hear about a situation you didn‘t see coming. Emotional news. Or perhaps Mercury confirmed a situation that you knew existed but he did it in a manner that was a bit shocking as he squared Uranus. One student was told “Yes, your boss REALLY hates you.” A friend in the process of divorcing was advised that her husband was going to be obstructionist and very difficult by her lawyer. A friend’s dad was told he might to have a second surgery to correct problems caused by the first surgery to which he responded “I am in charge here! That is NOT going to happen!”
A reader wrote: “I just have to say that these eclipses lately are by far the most powerful and emotional energies that I have EVER dealt with in over 15 years! More than even any Mercury Retrograde we’ve been through! I am going through the toughest relationship break-up with my Cancer boyfriend. And have never cried so much in 15 years! I also have heard of many of my other friends having relationship problems and breakups and marriage endings…This is crazy! I have also seen some peculiar anger and rage and people snapping at me and then apologizing later. My stress level is larger than life and my sleeping patterns have changed and am waking at all hours. I feel the acceleration of life more than ever and am hearing this from so many other people, too. It almost feels like something is going to burst down here on earth!”
In my case, it seems my entire astrology client database with thousands of entries, chart data, emails, phones and addresses appears to be gone, vaporized with the eclipse on my south node found in the 12th house of undoing and karmic release of my 6th house of work over the last 18 years. Thousands of hours of data entry that can’t be replaced or completely reconstructed was gone in a poof of malware that crawled past my firewall created by a sociopathic nerd who should be hung by his toes and flogged in Times Square. And I am an anal retentive, obsessive Virgo gal who backs up her data scrupulously. Now I haven’t completely given up on my data but it sure isn’t looking good! And, yes, it completely brought me to tears. A Virgo losing her files is not a pretty sight! I have a few more calls to make before completely giving up. Prayers for a full data recovery are most appreciated.
Eclipses DO break things open. Blow things apart. Vaporize the situation. Shift the way we see the world, situation or the other person FOR EVER! The boil ruptures. The unseen become visible. The what was he/she thinking moves into the front of our consciousness. We each are having our own personal Anthony Wiener moments of meltdown some where in our lives as a situation becomes one which we must leave, change, face, deal with or acknowledge.
“How could this happen?” That seems to be the collective wail of anguish leaving many people’s lips!
The cardinal cross forming in the heavens takes us back to last August when the t-square formed in the heavens and economic collapse was forecast on all fronts. We got a reprieve of sorts as Uranus wanted more time in Pisces last fall. Now we REALLY DO seem to be facing our next big adventure and having to move on with our lives, ready or not.
This week both the Sun and Moon move through the energy of the t-square of nasty planets ~ Uranus, Saturn and Pluto ~ forming a cross in the heavens. They bringing our ego (Sun) and emotions (Moon) to front and center of our consciousness. In fact the Sun and Moon PULSE their illuminating energy at earth while they move through the t-square. The malefic planets will, of course, respond with their own PULSE or energy back. For every action there is an equal opposite reaction. A Solar eclipse means the Moon literally passes in front of the Sun and blocks the sun light as well as the rest of the electromagnetic radiation energy waves: radio, microwaves, infrared radiation, visible light, ultra violet light, x-rays, and gamma rays from reaching the earth. The interruption is significant. Uranus, Saturn and Pluto each with a gravitational force notice that on/off pulse of energy. Their energy arrives in a slightly different form as the Moon turns off the Sun. We feel it down here on earth. A disturbance in “The Force” of life so to speak.
Venus dives into the Nodes and releases large amount of emotional energy into the void of the South Node in Gemini. Mars in Gemini fights with the cardinal cross in a sneak attack of not truth. Jupiter also weighs in on the cardinal cross as he gets hit in his blind spot and can be hurt. Jupiter doesn’t see the punch coming. When the heavens can sneak a blind side punch onto Jupiter’s jaw, you KNOW it is hard week. The eclipse takes place on July 1, Friday. Mercury enters Leo to become loud and proud on Saturday. And next week we all start the next chapter of our lives.
So what to do with this difficult week of endings and releases? Be kind to yourself. Go to bed early. Eat good food. Do things that nurture your soul each and every day. Yes, you absolutely have to take care of yourself by doing something you LOVE every day. If you don’t, no one will. So take care of you.
And remember this is a TRANSIT ~ it will be over soon. Avoid picking up the stuff that doesn’t help ~ drugs, alcohol or other escapes that only postpone the inevitable and delay you doing what you have to do.
You will feel better once you get to the other side of it. Honest, I promise!
Hold your own hand. Pat yourself on your back. No picking on yourself. You are where you are. You can change things starting next week. This week you have to deal with the situation before you. Ask your guides ~ angelic and earthly ~ for help. Notice help when it arrives. Try a different approach. Venus and Mars are both in Gemini meaning YOU DO HAVE OPTIONS even if it doesn’t always feel like it.
And DO remember every one on earth is having this energy some place in their chart so drive carefully and watch your words. It will be a short tempered kind of week. So no provoking.

Moon Day, June 27, Monday Moon in Taurus has positive closing aspects of a sextile to Mercury in Cancer ~ keep working that energy to get what you want. Moon goes void at 12:24 pm EDT for the balance of the day. Do your void moon projects in the afternoon. Sun’s trine to Chiron suggests a loss of something that is very valuable to you or your ego. Your desires fight with partner’s or the other person’s desires. Agree to each do your own thing to avoid resentment and having to pick one choice over the other choice. The eclipse energy makes Venus a bit bitchy or whiny or needy as Mercury is in Cancer. You and the other person are both grown ups. Remember? Be a grown up! That said, it IS the kind of week when you want some serious comforting. Nothing feels particularly nurturing, at all. And while you can’t crawl back into bed and pull the covers over your head, avoiding this forever, you CAN do things that are nurturing for yourself. Zeus stations to go direct so the principle/energy of “I am the King” wants to do a bit of thumping and chest pounding. Only chest pound and announce things if you are SURE, absolutely SURE, that you want them to take place. Mars sextile to Uranus causes unexpected reactions to chest pounding and loud declarations. This week, threatening to divorce them results in THEM saying “Fine! Go ahead and divorce me!” Previously, whenever divorce was mentioned, they cried and begged you to stay. Renegotiate with partners instead of offering or delivering ultimatums. Despite your best efforts the news might just be bad as Eris fights with Mercury and does or says mean things to Venus. Valued things are lost. Mercury has a permanent adjustment to the Nodes of Destiny and releases into the ethers his last bits of effort and thoughts on the matter. Be careful with harsh emails or words as they can cause permanent changes.
Mars Day, June 28, Tuesday Moon is in Gemini ending with a union to Gemini Venus on Thursday ~ things either end or begin anew under this moon‘s energy. Sun opposite Pluto creates power struggles and problems for the ego as Sun continues through the t-square. Think back to last December to see the picture clearly. Venus dives into the South Node of Karma and destiny. She’s releasing, releasing, releasing today. Years and years of energy flow out of her into the bottomless pit of the Dragon’s Tail, wasting, releasing, wasting, releasing. Let it go. Let it all flow out of you. Mercury’s parrallel to Kronos marks the passage of time and says mentally embrace the time spent and let the unfinished business release, release, release. Jupiter gets sucker punched by Uranus ~ kind of out of the blue Jupiter sees something he’s never noticed before. Trust what you see. Yes it is true. Mercury follows Venus into the Nodes of releasing and destiny. It really is over. Mercury files the paperwork to let things go. Words hurt today as Mars squares Chiron and offers another choice to you about how to proceed without wounding yourself further. You need to protect yourself. Take action that allows you to change your mind.
Mercury’s day, June 29, Wednesday Moon in Gemini offers a dual option to approach the world as she dances through the sigh. Mercury has a brilliant idea upon awakening so make sure to follow through on it. You won’t be able to do it today as things are busy but next week will have more space and time. Sun parallels the South Node so the realization of what is actually going on hits, and hits hard, today. Cancer Sun is so emotional and sensitive in the first place. When that emotional Sun unites with the South Node, holding the emotional memories of not only this but all your past lives, you can expect a giant SWELLING wave of emotions to flood your system. Clear them out. Release, release. You can’t go forward in wholeness unless you let the past release you. And that includes this particular past life relationship or the memory of it in this life. Change. Mars has an adjusting aspect to Pluto ~ Gemini to Capricorn ~ physical, earth based adjustments are called for ~ wash that situation right out of your life. Take action to end it, adjust it, release it on a PHYSICAL level ~ not emotional.
Jupiter’s day, June 30, Thursday Moon is void in Gemini until noon:13 when it enters Cancer. Moon squares Uranus, sextiles Jupiter, and opposes Pluto as she enters the t-square preparing for the eclipse of consciousness tomorrow. She’s doing the emotional processing of the ideas/information heard last week when Mercury walked through the cardinal t-square. Moon is talking to the ego and revisioning or emotionally working with what she saw earlier in the week when the Sun walked through the t-square. Relief at last ~ or at least until Mars walks through the t-square in a few weeks! Today offers emotional separations and realizations based on what you learned last week when Mercury and Sun rolled through the t-square of change, awakening and consciousness. It is hard to ignore the messages you are getting from the heavens, so PAY ATTENTION! Talk about how you are going to end things to move forward. Figure out how you are going to change things to move forward. Make a plan. Yes it is hard and feels like hell but it will be over soon enough. Take care of your health today too ~ all the stress can make you sick. Emotions are very fluid right now. Trust the process that is unfolding before you.
Venus day July 1 Friday Moon in Cancer heightens emotions as she forms a partial eclipse with the Sun near the South Pole over Antarctica. Saturn has a brilliant idea about how to proceed as he forms an aspect of brilliance with the Nodes. Listen to your INNER voice ~ the one that is NOT fear based. ~ listen to the supportive guidance of that voice. Change what needs to be changed. You can do it. Saturn’s slow moving square all month as he lingers at 10 Libra offers us a turning point in our definition of relationships. Remember all the relationships you pull into your life are there to help you understand your chart and your purpose in life. So no regrets. Forget regret. Live today. Take them as lessons not failures. Dan Savage one of my favorite voices of wisdom in the world says “All relationships fail until one doesn’t.” The same is true of life. All situations eventually fail ~ we live in a physical world where endings are part of the process. We aren’t so keen on the endings or failures if you prefer but they help us get to the next place. The SOUL goes on. And THAT helps us keep on going too. Juno squares the Nodes of Destiny so we make choices today about whether relationships continue or end. Listen or watch for profound communications today. You are receiving guidance from the cosmos from which you came and to which you return. Communications want to create. Remember back when the astronauts would reenter the earth’s atmosphere and there was a time when we couldn’t hear their voices? Then they would speak again? That is the energy of today. Listen for the resumption of the electromagnetic pulse of life. Listen for your message from the heavens. It might be faint but it is there. Pluto opposite Kronos ends a situation forever and in the ending there is a rebirth. Venus is parallel the South Node, repeating her journey on Tuesday but in a more forceful way. It really is over. You are free. You are alive. You are changed.
Saturn’s Day July 2, Saturday Moon in Leo is joined by Mercury entering Leo. Mercury emerges from his emotional, sensitive and perhaps tearful journey through Cancer between June 16 and now to take his place is loud, proud and playful Leo. The party after the burial and wake. The emerging of the Sun after the dark night of storms. There always is a morning after.

Now that you are singing the theme song from the Poseidon adventure ~ know that your climb out of the darkness is just as important to the heavens. So get climbing! One step after the other. You can rest a bit further down the road. Right now, just keep moving forward a bit more. One step at a time. Sun squares Saturn today asking you to reflect back on the past 7 years (and in seven year increments if you are so inclined) to see how far you’ve come. We often don’t look back to assess our growth. But in the same way you could not fit back in your mom’s belly, you don’t fit in your old life. So give yourself a pat on the back and do something that nurtures you tonight.
Sun’s Day, July 3, Sunday Moon in Leo goes void with a working solid aspect to Saturn so even as it is a holiday weekend, there is work to do and things to accomplish. Great time to organize your space and heart. Mars is triggering the eclipse from last month and making you review the past month. Mars in Gemini makes folks return for a redo of their previous behavior if it doesn’t feel finished. Mars is inconjunct to Poseidon so emotions need adjusting and physical release. Sun squares Black Moon Lillith so dead babies can surface today ~physically and in your consciousness. It is a needed yet kind of a difficult energy to look back on the projects, people or things that didn’t go any place or were aborted/ killed/ incomplete/ abandoned. We need to look back to know what we need to change going forward. Mother Nature offers us many, many opportunities ~ abundance so to speak. But not all those baby birds, eels, turtles or our projects survive to maturity. So mourn the dead ones and thank them for what they taught you. Kind of heavy energy for a holiday weekend but we are still in eclipse season so it is appropriate to pull the plug on things that aren’t working for you. The creative desire part fights with the desire to nurture part ~ Venus square Ceres ~ both are valid and needed energies. Which ones do you need in YOUR life right now? What blend of them? Wash your energy of the things you don’t want. Colds and illness lingers on the edge of your being so early to bed, lots of fluid to flush it and good food to help your body heal.
Mundane: Last week I wrote Pluto gets to 10 Capricorn soon. A reader wrote to ask what I meant. When a planet in a sign gets to 10 degrees, it starts to kick serious butt about the issues it is trying to get you aware of. In Pluto’s case, we will start to deal with the serious abuses of power taking place in the world by the governments and corporations ~ areas that Capricorn rules. We’ve started with the riots in the Middle East but there is much more we can expect between now and 2024 in confronting and dealing with power wielded badly, evilly or without regard to the human costs of emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual natures.
Each zodiac sign is 30 degrees. The first 10 degrees of every sign are the “pure” version of the sign and energy. The second and third decants, or sets of 10 degrees, are when the changes the sign imagines, inspires or promises arrive. So, right now Saturn is at 10 of Libra ~ he’s going to start to kick some serious butt around defining relationships and the issues of partnerships. People are committing or bailing on relationships all over the place. In New York, we now have legalized gay marriage. And, inevitably, the gay folks who were “NOT” going to get married or didn’t want to get married are going to be facing the “When are we going to get married?” question from their significant others. And thus Saturn in Libra starts to kick butt about defining their relationships in a new way. And we each are back at 1981 working that story in a new role in our lives.
When Pluto went into Scorpio in November 1983, we had transformation via death from sex ~ AIDS. At 10 degrees, Rock Hudson was diagnosed with it. Suddenly, everyone was aware of AIDS and worried that mosquitoes would infect them as we wondered about the H‘s that seemed to catch AIDS ~Hemophiliacs, Homosexuals, and Haitians. The death count rose from 10 to 20 degrees ~ seemingly out of control ~ people were dropping dead. Once we got to 20 degrees, the virus was identified, diagnosed and initial treatments were starting to stop the death march of victims.
When Pluto went into Sagittarius in January 1995, we had transformation of religious organizations, race, communications and publishing ~ all areas ruled by Sagittarius. Zero to 10 found music companies suing parents whose kids downloaded music from Napster and the Catholic Church denying pedophile sexual allegations about their priests. Degrees 10 to 20, the wave of change collapses those standing against the tide and fighting. Subpoenas of Church files revealed a complicity in transferring priests from parish to parish where they continued to hurt parishioners. Napster was closed down but file sharing continued. The music industry collapsed. Now we all have cell phones, pay phones are non existent, newspapers are dying, books are on nooks, music is on our computers, ipads and ipods, and the internet rules the dissemination of information. Publishing, communications and the church changed enormously. We started Pluto in Sagittarius with OJ Simpson and ended it with Barack Obama to mark the changes in our visions about and around race.
So Pluto in the early degrees of Capricorn causes the destruction of rights or abuse of power by the authorities ~ witness the recent elections where the elected officials are union busting and rough riding over all opposition, the Supreme Court ruling AGAINST women in their suit against Walmart regarding promotions/opportunities and ruling FOR corporations having unlimited amounts of “free speech” ~ read cash campaign contributions ~ for the issues or candidates of their choice. And of course the silencing of a truth telling media as it turns to follow the wishes and dictates of its corporate owners.
So to my mind, Pluto in later degrees of Capricorn can’t arrive soon enough!
