Weekly Weather June 12, 2006

It is going to be a highly energetic week ~ the word energetic can be replaced with stressful. Let‘s talk about how to use the cosmic energy shifts, and aspect culminations productively. Keep your focus on where you are going and your goals, move forward, as the various energies swirl around you. This week you are in that build up to giving birth where the pain outweighs any thought of the bundle of love on the other side. Adrenaline throbs through your (and every one else’s) body all week long. It is fight or flight, depending on the situation. Be wise. Don’t waste energy if you don’t need to.

First, Mercury, our communication god, is out of bounds until next Sunday so throughout the entire week ALL communications have an out of bounds quality to them. In other words wild, crazed and out of control words. Additionally Mercury enters his shadow or the degree of his future retrograde station on Sunday so the story of the Mercury retrograde begins this week. He trines Uranus offering a shocking or severing quality to the news revealed during the week. He argues with Pallas Athena about her conservative strategies and urges her to go with the flow… He does NOT see things very clearly as he is fogged in by Neptune throughout the week which makes his lightening quick mind go back and forth indecisively. He is in Cancer so he is emotional and not detached.

Second, Venus our goddess of love, desire, partnerships and values is disillusioned by both Neptune and Pluto. She squares Neptune so you’ll lose the illusion about something you’ve been holding on to. She contraparallels both of them ~ which feels like as an opposition ~ offering the opportunity to see both Pluto and Neptune clearly. So you’ll lose your illusions about how Pluto controls, manipulates and transforms things or issues with his passion and power. She passes from seeing her beloved Neptunian dream through soft lights, and mist into the harsh light of high noon. Neither of these are bad things. Venus enjoys passion and illusion. It is still there except it is perhaps a more realistic version of passion and illusion ~ one you can live with every day. Not a Phantom of the Opera kind of guy but a fellow with a nice voice who sings in the shower as he gets ready to go to work.

Sun is busy ~ he’s in the last degrees of Gemini and approaching his highest position on earth’s northern hemisphere at the Summer Solstice. He opposes Pluto and lights up the power struggles with his light. He opposes the Galactic Center. Unfortunately, he is in a mutable sign and ruled by Mercury in Cancer so he’s not going to say much to interfere with the process of giving birth. Besides there is not a whole heck of a lot he can do but watch, pay attention and take mental, emotional notes. Everyone ELSE is having the experience! He is a bystander who happened by a birth in process. Okay, he can call EMS to try to get a trained specialist into help. Dial 911, Sun.

Mars has a tough week. He’s blocked, delayed and held back all week by his impending conjunction with Saturn and opposition to Chiron on Sunday. Finish up tasks that are outstanding as you’ll start a new two year cycle of work next week after Mars passes Saturn (and the rest of the T-square). The last few degrees as Mars approaches Saturn are going to be a struggle. Mars oppose Chiron often indicates a shot to a wound in your soul ~ or a fresh wound to a new spot. I hate this aspect as it means pain, and a lot of it. I often compare it to burn victims where the nurses go in and scrub out the dead, burned skin so new skin can grow and no infection takes place. Helps? Yes! Necessary? Extremely! Heals? Eventually! However it hurts like HELL while it happens and when they are doing it. That is Mars opposite Chiron. The opposition takes place right after he breaks free from Saturn’s restrictions so Mars has lots of pent up energy to unleash on Chiron as he cleans out your wound. So that means the nurse derma braising your wound is Cathy Bates in “Misery”. You WILL survive, but it hurts, hurts, hurts. Excruciating. There is light at the end of the tunnel (and it is NOT a train) in the form of Uranus’ brilliant fifth harmonic aspect to Mars at the end of the week. Underneath all your burned skin is nice healthy pink flesh, shining and raw, but with a good blood supply to regrow itself. It is a wound but it will heal. Our bodies are amazing things. All part of the process of life.

Jupiter’s helpful energy is being blocked in delivering his goodies by the Malefics in the T-square. He is going backwards so he’s not much help as he’s not working at his best. He is in Scorpio obsessed with and focusing his energy on healing the issues and wounds from last fall. He’s not paying much attention to what is going on now. Sorry, no help from Jupiter. Besides, he’s the one telling Nurse Cathy Bates to clean out your wound so it can heal. Jupiter doesn’t know she’s sadistic! He never watched Misery.

Saturn is fighting with Jupiter, holding back Mars and in a pushing match with Chiron. He is getting a brilliant idea from Uranus. That said, he is Saturn so he might not pay much attention to what Uranus says to him. Not to worry, he will use the idea down the road a piece. At least Uranus said it and Saturn heard it. Now, whatever that brilliant idea is, I want you to take 10 minutes and do something toward it this week. Just 10 minutes. Tell Uranus and Saturn that YOU heard them and want it to show up or be created in your life. It is tied to being free of the situation from last fall. It is tied to the life you are heading for. Be brave.

Uranus is stuck on the sidelines like a basketball coach in the NCAA finals. There is a wild playoff game going on, he has no time outs left, he’s shouting instructions at his team, NONE of whom are listening to him. Send a guard over to dribble by Coach Uranus to hear his good ideas. Coach has seen the flaw in the other team’s defense. He can tell you how to score and win the game. You HAVE to CHANGE YOUR STRATEGY!! Please listen to Coach and transcend your fears toward freedom. Uranus is stationing to go retrograde next week so he is about to get a technical foul from the ref if he doesn’t watch it. Uranus stations build up the energy and then have a release in the form of an earthquake, volcano, explosion or some such type of thing to let the energy dissipate. LISTEN TO COACH!

Sun, Mercury, Pluto and Neptune are downloading instructions from the Galactic Center of the Universe to help you evolve. Honest. Well, have you been having amazing dreams lately ~ most of which you don‘t quite remember upon waking? Feeling particularly strung out energetically, stressed, overwhelmed, teary and perhaps a tad over the top? Working on or toward some thing or some one that seems just out of your grasp, beyond your fingertips, frustrating to no end? Possess a vague and undefined sense of “something big is coming“ and not at all sure what it is? Know that underneath, deep below the surface, some thing is shifting and moving towards a new formation? Have a sense of foreboding or anxiety or angst? Unfortunately as humans in these cute saturnine bodies we live in, when the outer planets are sending messages to us, they tend to jam or disrupt our systems. We overload, or shut down or feel past our ability to cope with what we are facing. At times like this I suggest doing it step by step, or as Anne LaMott says in her book of the same title, “Bird by Bird“. I did that to write this weekly column as the energy was overwhelming. I took one planet at a time. Planet by Planet. You can simply stand still and cry. It will make you feel better. And, then, back to bird by bird, planet by planet, day by day, task by task, step by step. Comfort those around you. Give and receive hugs. Get extra sleep. Avoid bad old behaviors like indulging in food, cigarettes, drugs or al
cohol. Take a mental health
day (or week).

We are all giving birth to our new selves over the next two weeks. This is the tough week. Next week the baby crowns and there is an inevitable flow and push towards completion. All week it is a large head pushing at a tiny space trying to break free into what? The world? A baby has no concept of the world! Just think about that poor little baby ~ spent months floating around in nice amniotic sac and suddenly there is shouting, screaming, unbelievable pain and pressure to move out and through a very narrow tunnel into a large room with a bunch of strangers who are dressed in funny clothes, hanging you upside down and smacking your butt to get you to cry. You think YOU feel bad? Think about that baby! Well, you were born once, so you can do it again. This birth thing is easy, once you get the hang of it. Besides you are both the mother AND the baby! Makes it a tad easier if you think about it that way.

As there is so much going on, I am going to direct you back up to the paragraphs above as each planet plays its role in giving birth to you. Planet by Planet, reread them. And, I want you to read Mars EVERY day!

Monday, read Mercury, Venus, Mars, Neptune and Uranus. Yes, being disillusioned is hard but reality is better! Consciousness requests you look at a situation to see it for what it is and understand why it exists. Holding folks accountable is a whole other process. Just look today. The moon is in Capricorn saying focus on the reality.

Tuesday, Uranus gets his brilliant idea from Pallas Athena. He is going to spend the rest of the week trying to get the other planets to listen to him and adjust their strategies. It would help if you reread Uranus several times. It is a farfetched plan. Or it seems so simple that you don’t believe it could be THAT easy. It is. My sister is a Division One college basketball coach. On occasion, when a game gets too rough and crazed, one of her players “loses” a contact lens. Stops the action. Regroups the team. Everyone catches their breath. They start again. Sounds crazy, but it works like a charm! Call a pause in the action, if you can, to let Uranus implement his strategy. Void moon in Capricorn in the afternoon. Go home. Go for a walk. Clear your desk.

Wednesday read Venus, Mars, Pluto and Saturn. It is the clear cool light of dawn. Aquarius moon offers you understanding as she looks clearly at Mars and Saturn wrestling in the corner. Detach, detach, detach.Trust the process.

Thursday, read Venus, Mars, Neptune, Chiron, Mercury and Jupiter. It is a tough day on Planet Earth. It will be easier in a few days. Aquarius moon gets wisdom from others. Talk it out with a close friend.

Friday read Mercury, Mars, Neptune and Pluto. Pisces moon suggests this is a great day for a mental health break. Another difficult day.

Saturday, here comes Uranus and his strategy is finally being heard! Read Mercury, Mars, Saturn, and Uranus. Lost a contact lens did you? Another difficult day. Pisces moon invites meditation on the events in a kind and loving way towards you. It is not easy being human. I want you to talk to yourself like a kind and loving friend would. No picking on yourself. Be supportive.

Sunday is just plain difficult as Mars FINALLY perfects his square to Chiron and his conjunction to Saturn. Moon moves into Aries and the baby starts to crown.

Now, NEXT WEEK, once Mercury comes in bounds AND Uranus stations AND the node shifts signs for the next 19 years AND Saturn and Jupiter square each other and perfect their aspects with Chiron, it will be finished! Well, not really but almost ~ you get the idea. We are dealing with the rest of the energy until after the Summer Ingress on June 22. But this was our worst week. Or perhaps to reframe it: our birthing week. Once that baby is out, and you integrate him into your being, you are going to have SO MUCH FUN!

Be gentle with yourself and all creatures around you on Mom Earth. It is one of the most important weeks on our planet. Pay attention. Your new life awaits you. Just a bit more time.

Mundane: I am not even going to attempt to predict. Suffice to say, it will be a VERY busy news week on Planet Earth and not overly pretty either. Too many malefics roaming the heavens fighting with each other. Who knows, we might even catch Osama Bin Laden!
