Weekly Weather July 17, 2006

“The world is going to hell in a hand basket!” as my mother would say! Well, not really but it is rocking and rolling out there as we adjust to the universe saying “Change, change, change!” as our fixed houses, planets and signs go “nope, not going to, well, okay ~ maybe.” Lots more “ghosts” in the two weeks ahead. Keep chatting your ghosts up. The ghosts are there to give you information and help you make decisions about your future life. The ghosts in the Scrooge story got scarier as Christmas Eve night went on. They didn‘t talk and pointed out stuff that WOULD happen IF SCROOGE didn’t CHANGE his behavior. That is what the ghosts over the next few weeks will point out for you! These are YOUR ghosts! They ARE SCARY BUT chat them up ANYWAY! See what they want to show you. Listen. Look. You’ll love your life if you do.

A few weeks ago, I woke up at 6:30 in the morning to find my cat had brought a real live mouse into my bed to play “fetch”. After I finished screaming so Mr. Mouse escaped and thwarted Max‘s morning romp, I did research on mice. I DO pay attention to my Uranus transits! Ganesh, the Elephant Deity, appeared. Exploring the myth of Ganesh makes sense for us to do. It will help with the coming t-square in the fixed signs.

Ganesh is known as the “Destroyer of Obstacles”. The most striking feature of Ganesh is his elephant head, symbol of auspiciousness, strength and intellectual prowess. The elephant is the largest and strongest of animals of the forest. Yet he is gentle and, amazingly, a vegetarian, so that he does not kill to eat. He is very affectionate, loyal and is greatly swayed if love and kindness are extended to him. At the same time, the elephant can destroy a whole forest and is a one-man army when provoked. Ganesh is similarly gentle and powerful but he can be ruthless when containing evil.

T-Squares present us with a different and often difficult opportunity to explore dualism in our world as THREE planets are involved. We pick one side or planet ~ usually the one we like best or the one that is the least scary to us. We “give” the planets we don’t much like to other folks and situations. Thus transits, and events, appear in our lives. The transiting t-square will be Neptune in Aquarius, Jupiter in Scorpio and Saturn in Leo. The energy from it exits into the Taurus house ~ asking you to make solid structures in your life of what you want. Draw the t-sqaure out on a piece of paper and think about the three energies and what happens if we pick one over the other. Place the t-square into your chart. See where your Taurus house is to see what is receiving the energy ~ that is what you are supposed to be doing and moving toward if you work your Saturn and this t-square properly ~ that Jupiter/ Saturn conjunction‘s location back in May of 2000.

If we pick Neptune in Aquarius and stand in that part of the t-square, choosing to be invisible in the crowd, Saturn in Leo will block our every move as we become more and more obsessed by Jupiter in Scorpio fueling the fire of blockage, fear and depression. Jupiter is going to pour gasoline on Saturn in Leo‘s fire to MAGNIFY SATURN in Leo. Fiery restrictions are bigger than ever. We’ll be more frozen and fixed as Saturn and Jupiter combine to make the obstacles appear even bigger and more overwhelming as we slink deeper into Neptune‘s oblivion.

If we pick Jupiter in Scorpio and stand in that part of the t-square, then Jupiter sits on the sidelines watching Saturn in Leo battle it out with Neptune in Aquarius. Jupiter profits darkly through death and destruction, betting on, and probably fueling both as he chooses to perpetuate the struggle. The Taurus house, or value is cleared out, destroyed or changed by the energy of Saturn and Neptune. Neptune is going to win ultimately! Neptune destroys the structures of Saturn either through breakdown, dissolution or despair! The weakest point in any chart or body is the Neptune/ Saturn midpoint! Neptune in Aquarius dissolves community, fogs up hopes, dreams and wishes, and washes away foundations. Saturn in Leo says due to fear of NOT being loved, uncreative, unwanted or restricted in your ability to express who you are, you are blocked. Blocked yet again!

Last, if we pick Saturn and stand in Saturn’s part of the t-square, then Jupiter and Neptune are freed up to create. While WHAT they create might be a bit grandiose and over the top, none the less it is a VISION or ILLUSION of EXPANSIVE TRANSFORMATION. When we SIT with Saturn, Ganesh appears AT OUR SIDE as Neptune and Jupiter are literally destroyed by Saturn’s strength and responsibility. They wash away, they are transformed, and they are obstacles removed as Neptune always wins and releases Jupiter in Scorpio from his union with death and destruction. Saturn has permission to create (because we are working with and siding with him!) while the other parts of the T-Square do their thing. Sitting in Saturn, which is being responsible, DIFFICULT and HARD WORK is not NEARLY as bad as the other two seats in the t-square. The Taurus house will find it creates something of a Jupiter/Neptune nature ~ inspiration and expansive.

Back to my frequent request that you “Do Your Saturn”. Be accountable. Encourage others to be accountable to their Saturn. How does one “DO” one’s Saturn? First, look where Saturn Natally sits by house and sign. My Saturn is in the 8th in Scorpio ~ that says be accountable, responsible, clean and clear with astrology, occult, debts, sex, death, taxes, and merging with others (among other things). Second, look to what houses Saturn rules ~ the Capricorn and Aquarius houses ~ in my case the 12th of undoing myself and my ascendant ~ me personally and how I do things. Third, look to where Saturn in Leo is transiting ~ in my case the 6th house of habits, work, pets and soon the 7th house of working with others and relationships. Finally look at the house placement of your Sun ~ in my case, Virgo in the 7th of other people. So, if I look at what I am “working” on in my life ~ it is cleaning out, being of service to others and working with my 8th house issues to move my life toward what I’d like to create. IRS issues, paying off debts, being an astrologer, finishing my NCGR certification, NOT undermining myself, the damn mouse in my bed which I‘d merged with by laying on it (or it crawled under my back ~ right at the Leo part of my Saturn spine ) to escape. Thus, I prevented a mouse death by Max. I’ve also been changing my diet to make a healthier (and thinner) Anne to bring in a seventh house partner and have more of the FUN 8th house stuff! My Taurus house, the output of the t-square catches the energy of the t-square ~ writing, communicating, creating and connecting in my peer to peer, side by side and sibling relationships. Have these columns been getting longer or what?

So, do the four steps with your chart. Get a good keyword book and look up whatever YOUR definition of Saturn is by natal house placement, natal sign placement, the Capricorn and Aquarian houses, and where ever Leo is found in your chart as well as the sign/house of your Sun. Look at where all that energy is going to go ~ your Taurus house. Put the words together to find Saturn things to do. A lovely 6th house Leo lioness I know has Saturn in Cancer in the 4th so she’s taking a course to become a prenatal yoga teacher and she’s setting rules with her father, who she works with, about the type of clients she wants. Another peace loving 3rd/4th house Libran with Saturn in Leo in the 1st house, faces her second Saturn return, completely not thrilled about taking on the role of family matriarch even as she wants to smack her family of siblings and
say “grow up” an
d “be responsible”. In both cases, the t-square just lights up their stories and point the way to successfully navigating the months ahead if they sit in their Saturn and send the energy of Neptune and Jupiter into their Taurus house.

A not so lovely example of the t-square was provided by the doctor who blew up his NYC townhouse to prevent it from being sold in auction as he sat in Jupiter in Scorpio. Neptune in Aquarius (gas, fixed, community) and Saturn in Leo (historic, proud, fire, fixed, valuable building) after the Marshal served an eviction notice (fixed authority knocked on his door). He‘d appealed the divorce case AFTER his wife HADN‘T been awarded the townhouse as a marital property and LOST what he’d won. So very stuck in his Jupiter in Scorpio! He destroyed his townhouse in a fiery explosion, didn’t die as he wished, burned himself over 30% of his body, hurt a bunch of firemen and people AND made quite a few of his community of neighbors homeless as their homes were structurally affected by his town house exploding.

Trust me on this one ~ you want to sit in Saturn. Run and sit in Saturn. Caution, integrity, pride, love, loyalty, honesty, and working on doing what you love yet are most afraid of on another level is the ONLY way to prevent the other two, Neptune and Jupiter from fueling each other in most unpleasant manners over the next 4 months. There is an opportunity to do an enormous amount of productive work in the Saturn area of your life. When you SIT with SATURN, and DO YOUR SATURN, you will find Ganesh, the destroyer of obstacles activates the Neptune to dissolve and move you forward while Jupiter provides oodles of transformative energy. Honest. Give the same advice to everyone you love and know. Encourage them to keep working on their Saturn, as much as they can, as often as they can, each and every day. Or at least until October 25, 2006. J

Our week ahead features quite a bit of Pluto. Venus, Mars and Sun change signs as Mercury retrograde continues to bring us ghosts on a daily basis. As planets get to the last degrees of signs, they shout out the essence of the sign and their journey in a loud, last hurrah. Venus is going to be chatting things up, fibbing, flirting, arguing and moving toward getting a bit more security in her life after she enters Cancer on Tuesday. Mars leaves Leo so expect oodles of fireworks, explosions and drama, drama, drama before he enters Virgo on Saturday. Lots of explosions! Sun is leaving Cancer and entering Leo Saturday so EVERYONE will say they are doing it for security, family, the homeland, safety, mom and apple pie, tribal, crabby, and cranky reasons. Yes, AND if they (or you) whine about it anymore you (or they) are going to smack them! Encourage them to do their Saturn as there isn’t much else to be done, for the time being. Warn them about spending time in Jupiter in Scorpio or Neptune in Aquarius ~ leave that for the others to do.

Monday, watch for interesting and difficult news. Sun is inconjunct Pluto and Ceres so the Finger of God is going to flick your butt toward something juicy, big and transformative about your family and your maternal, nurturing figures. The Finger has a scary ghost quality to it so dig around in your dreams, images and chat them up or talk about your ghosts with other people. Gotta shine the sun on those ghosts to get them to disappear. You need to get those ghosts right out on the table so the world (and you) can see them. Neptune’s aspect to Juno suggests the partnership you feared so much is not nearly as scary as you once thought it was. Or as illusionary. The moon in Aries makes this a particularly explosive day on Planet Earth.

Tuesday Venus changes signs and enters Cancer. She’s getting more information than she wants of a stubborn nature as Moon moves through Taurus and Sun joins with Mercury in a later degree of Cancer. Take all information in. Chat it up, nice and easy. You can process it later, once your stomach calms down. Just note it, record it, watch it, don’t react and gather data ~ the Finger of God is giving you oodles of information from last June and July, 1982/83, May 2000 and the past year or so to help you move forward toward your path. Now Fingers DO have a tendency to point things out, help us grasp and hold on to stuff, highlight, direct our sight lines, focus our awareness and poke us in our sensitive parts. Gather the data. Talk to your ghosts. Mars has an aspect of brilliance to Jupiter in Scorpio so you’ll figure things out in a new and exciting way even as Mars argues with the north node of destiny in a stressful manner. Gotta go with the flow, live in the moment and remember to breathe on days like this. Problem yes, big problem, probably, solvable ~ yes as long as you SIT in Saturn and don’t entertain Jupiter and Neptune’s seductive whispers in your ears. Saturn is NOT going away. You want to cooperate with him, not let him get bigger and bigger by hanging out in dreams, illusion, delusions, overdoing, and excess. Saturn, Saturn, Saturn, do your Saturn.

Wednesday, Mercury moves into exactness with the Finger of God to Pluto and Ceres. Not a lot you can do but show up and pay attention. It is a tough Finger as Pluto is involved and he’s speaking to our security, emotional, belonging and family issues ~ some of our most vulnerable spots ~ ramping up our fears ~ big time. Take anti-anxiety medication ~ or jog ~ or have sex ~ or shout ~ or drum ~ or do some CONSTRUCTIVE energy releasing activity. Do your Saturn, Do it, do it, do it. Avoid those bad old behaviors of Neptune and Jupiter. Hang out with Ganesh, the remover of obstacles. Focus on doing your Saturn. Dig out your notes about 1982/83 and last fall to see how the stories make more sense ~ write them next to each other using the Taurus moon to ground the information you are getting.

Thursday offers a bit of relief as the universe should send you a message that you are on the right track. If you feel like you are getting punched in the face by a FIST of God instead of flicked with a finger, get your butt into doing your Saturn. Gemini’s moon might make you laugh hysterically, cry at a moment’s notice or just feel rather split and divided about the whole business. The entire world is going to be of two minds and rather unstable.

Friday, do your Saturn. Clean your spaces using Mercury’s aspect to Vesta. Make a list of Saturn tasks and spread it through your day timer from now until October. Organize. Talk to your ghosts. Saturn, Saturn, Saturn. Moon still in Gemini means Major UNSTABLE energy.

Saturday it feels like the difficult energy peaks as many harsh aspects herald a major shift in energy. Sun has a harsh aspect to Uranus right before he leaves for Leo. Once you’ve become conscious (by chatting up your ghosts and all the work that you’ve been doing in your fixed houses) you can’t go home again in QUITE the same way. It is okay. You outgrew that shell anyhoo. Like a lobster, crab or snake, you’ll shed a skin of sorts and move into a new part of your journey. It’s not a pleasant day but the Venus aspect to Neptune suggests part of you is ready to release it as you are seeing it with Pallas in Capricorn‘s crystal clear eyes. If not this situation, then the next will be the right one. You know what you are looking for now. It is so much easier to find what you are looking for when you know what it is that you want. Sun moves into Leo suggesting you toss your hair, put on a party dress and have a bit of fun. Mars in Virgo might make you a bit critical of yourself but you are all you have so you might as well make nice, do your work and go out looking for what you want. Nothing is perfect but good enough, with a minor adjustment here and there, is what our goal will be as Mars moves through Virgo. Don’t sweat the small stuff. Do your Saturn. Do. Your. Saturn. DO! YOUR! SATURN! Cancer moon is going to make you want to whine ~ do your Saturn anyway!

Sunday the Sun finishes his fight with Mars. But at least that cranky, bitchy, nasty energy where the world feels like a shrill, irritated, fussy big old baby just howling, crying and wailing away on the plane at 20,000 feet peaks and starts to ebb. Let go, let go, let go. Do your Saturn. Sun’s aspect to Pluto suggests you see the light at the end of the tunnel. No, it is not a train. Keep doing your Saturn. No whining on this Cancer Moon. Do your Saturn. At least 10 minutes of it. See, that wasn’t so hard!

Mundane: Valerie Plame and Joseph Wilson filed a lawsuit against Karl Rove, Dick Cheney and Scooter Libby on Thursday, July 13, hopefully BEFORE that long void moon in Aquarius. I DO wish lawyers would consult with astrologers about void moons ~ at least lawyers I want to win! That said, the world will continue to rock, roll and explode courtesy of Mars in Leo trine to Pluto in Sag and all the OTHER Pluto aspects taking place over the next two weeks. The energy of evolution (or on a bad day, destruction) is upon us. When you hear of difficult energies send love, light and healing prayers. We are at a critical point in our evolution as individuals and a species over the summer. Keep your vision focused on what you want our world to BECOME ~ a vision of what it can be. Thought is the first step of creation. Do your Saturn.
