Weekly Weather January 15, 2007
Three planets change signs in the week ahead, promising a fair amount of turbulence on earth as the planets shift into new energies. Additionally, nine conjunction energies take place: three true zodiac conjunctions and 6 conjunctions by parallel. Parallels conjunctions are felt profoundly on our earth as the planets meet by degree of declination above or below the equator. They set off a vibration at the latitude they meet at as well as blending their energy into a union and marriage of sorts. I think of declinations as a secondary communication channel ~ they talk to each other when you don’t expect them to!
The “official” organization chart is the planets in the zodiac. Declinations are the who is talking to whom behind the scenes as they pass in the hall, meetings or eat in the lunchroom. The unofficial, but often even MORE interesting and important, chit chat between the sky messengers. Watch the declinations in your own chart as they are profound and deep connections ~ positive or negative ~ between planets. By declination, the planets meet, exchange, communicate with each other. Their energies appear and reflect what is taking place on earth even if it isn‘t seen in the heavens above us in the Ptolemaic aspects. Both types of conjunctions, regular and parallel, are signals of endings and beginnings. They mark the ending of a cycle and herald the new beginning of a cycle.
Of particular interest to us in the week ahead is the Ptolemaic conjunction of Venus with Neptune at the same time Venus joins with Ceres and Pluto by parralel midweek. Venus is in charge of beauty, money, love, and young people, often women. Neptune is illusion, sorrow, deception, oil, water, merging and dissolving. Ceres is a maternal, food and nurturing energy as well as being physically creative and rather fierce or protective when she‘s mad. Pluto rules loss, war, power, the underworld and profound transformations. Ceres and Pluto were enmeshed in a battle via the myth of Persephone, Ceres’ daughter. Persephone was abducted by Pluto, which resulted in Ceres starving the world until she got her daughter back. The four planets, Venus, Pluto, Ceres and Neptune will vibrate the latitudes they meet at between 16:33 and 16:48 of the Equator. Watch for the myth of Persephone, Ceres and Pluto to be active in your life and the world.
The four conjunctions will also vibrate the planet locations in your chart and the charts of every other being connecting the story and houses of those energies. They meet up and surround the New Moon at the late degree of Capricorn on Thursday. The New Moon is an Out of Bounds New Moon! It will have a wild emotional quality to it. And, Mars is still out of bounds, although he’s in a calmer, more direct and clear placement of Capricorn after Tuesday.
Last week, Out of Bounds Mars joined with Pluto at that late degree of Sagittarius that we are watching in anticipation of learning about the upcoming Jupiter/ Pluto conjunction next December. The events of last week were a signal to you of how your life is going to go for the next 13 years. Like it? Then keep it going? Don’t like it? Stop it now! If you don’t stop it or change it, you are going to be in it for the next 14 years of your life.
I always feel a bit melodramatic when I write statements like that last one! Over the past couple of months, I’ve been reading Cosmos and Psyche by Richard Tarnas and The Fated Sky by Benson Bobrick. They both, in different ways, trace the impact of astrology on the earth and as it describes the affairs of human beings. They point out the configurations in the sky at certain pivotal events in human history. After reading their books, I am SO AWARE that we, as humans, are at SUCH a HUGE crossroads in our collective lives on our beautiful blue and green earth. The configurations of the planets right now are setting up the situations most of us will be living with for the rest of our lives. Maybe a bit more Melodrama is called for!?
So, choose wisely. Choose toward what you love. Don’t be afraid. Do your heart’s desire. Do your Saturn. Let your own light shine. Give yourself permission. Liberate yourself from your fear. Let your heart shine. Love is all there is. Time’s a wasting. The planets are almost finished with the dance that presents the opportunity to change.
Monday, Mercury enters Aquarius which he adores as his mind is so facile, brilliant and quick. He’ll draw and spot all sorts of connections that most us don’t see. He’s flying at 20,000 feet. He can see the overarching pattern as well as what is ahead of him, over the hill. Moon in Sagittarius has a wise quality about her ~ a sense of wisdom as she wraps up things before the New Moon on Thursday. She has a sense of overdoing but good overdoing. Push to get things out the door and finished up.
Tuesday, Mars enters Capricorn. I love Mars in Capricorn. Mars has a solid head, good work ethic and gets it ~ BEFORE he moves or takes a swing exactly what the consequences of his actions will be. He has a restraint built into him ~ kind of like David Carradine in Kung Fu. The bad guys are threatening but you know he can take care of himself even if the bad guys think he’s a wimp. There’s an assurance when Mars is in Capricorn. Mars has a quintile aspect to Uranus while Mercury quintiles Vesta suggesting a brilliant idea that you must, simply must, act on! Even if it seems outlandish. Act on it!
Wednesday, work on yesterday’s brilliant idea as Mercury moves parallel to Jupiter, talking to him by declination. Mercury is out ahead of Jupiter, he’s in the sign of Aquarius while Jupiter‘s vision is blocked by his approach to Pluto. Mercury sees the big picture of what will happen if you take action. Listen. Jupiter has a bit of a blind spot as he’s in a balsamic approach to Pluto. Jupiter is not thinking as clearly as he can. Mercury, however, is crystal clear. Listen to Mercury. When faced with a choice today, make sure to take the high road. Adjust. Make the adjustment, even if you don’t want to. Take the high road! Do the honorable thing! Actions that are less than honorable will have major repercussions down the road.
Thursday, a powerful new moon in the last degrees of Capricorn beckons and asks us to think about the consequences of our actions. Those Catholic sins of Omission and Commission come to mind. The omission sins are often worse than the commission sins ~ you could have prevented it if only you had… Listen to that inner warning voice today. If your sixth sense suggests you take action, do take action, even if you can’t explain it. The Venus, Pluto, Neptune and Ceres conjunction by parallel and zodiac position takes place surrounding the New Moon. Read my new moon column on this site for more information about the lunation.
Friday as Venus joins with Pluto by declination the Sun joins with Mercury by declination. Get whatever it is that you love, adore, desire or want to do out the door and off into the ethers of time and space. Sun‘s union with Mercury sets and focuses Sun‘s vision for his upcoming journey through Aquarius, beginning tomorrow. If you can envision it, you can move towards it. Start. The journey begins with a step.
Saturday, Mercury joins up with Pallas Athena and Chiron. Pallas Athena sees the patterns. Chiron notices the healing opportunity. Mercury’s link with both of them suggests IF you can SEE, OBSERVE, SPEAK OF the PATTERN in the WOUND, it goes a long way toward healing it. Pluto links up with Ceres by declination ~ they get away with it because they can. If they can’t get away with it (i.e. Mother stops them), they’ll stop! Stop the behavior that is so negative in your life. Or stop reacting to the behavior that someone else is doing which sets you off! Some one has to be the adult! Moon occults Venus ~ sure there might b
e a cost but there is a MUCH
greater cost if you keep it up.
Sunday, Mars is in a frustrated aspect with Neptune. If you can’t have what you want what are you going to do? Are you ready to change your approach? Venus has a square to Vesta suggesting releasing stuff in the house and home that you no longer love provides a bit of clarity. Nothing like a house purge to take that extra emotional energy and make it productive. Clean out your closets or exercise! Get some air for that Aquarius Sun ~ it‘ll do you wonders.
Mundane: As I write this column, the word is that George Bush is going to declare he’s doubling down and sending more troops into Iraq in a “surge” after a number of his generals testified in front of Congress that they did NOT need more troops in Iraq to quell the insurgency. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, the new Democratic leaders of Congress, have, officially, asked George not to send more troops. George removed the current commanders in the Middle East. He put a Navy leader in charge of the situation. What do Navy guys know about Army missions? Well, not much. Navy guys know about Navy missions. The second carrier group, Stennis, sailed to join the Ike carrier group sitting off Iran’s coast line. So we can anticipate a ‘situation’ that triggers a war with Iran ~ using the Navy, over oil. Yes, Iran. Yes, the Navy. This moron is setting up the next 13 years of our country’s life as a war in the Middle East! Did you hear the Selective Service tested their tracking software in the event of the reinstatement of a draft?
Hopefully, the conjunction configuration of Ceres with Pluto, Venus and Neptune will stop the next war before it starts! Ceres got promoted in August. Nancy Pelosi got promoted in November. Mothers don’t like to see their precious children going off to fight and feed fat, old, white guy’s desires for wars, oil, power and profits. Ceres got her kid back from Pluto by going on strike and starving the earth. The people rose up and protested to Zeus. They demanded Pluto stop it and give Ceres back her kid! Hopefully, this time around, the kid doesn’t get abducted into the underworld. Ceres, are you watching? Pluto’s getting ready to snatch your child! People, are you watching? This does NOT have to happen!
