The New Moon in Capricorn (Eclipse Season Preview!)

Dear friends,

I hope this finds you safe and well in these tumultuous times. I’m just reaching out to let you know that I’ll be teaching a webinar TONIGHT, in preparation for the New Moon this weekend.

The New Moon in Capricorn is scheduled for Sunday, January 18th at 2:25 PM Eastern US Time. It features a tight, tight four-planet stellium in Capricorn — with the Sun and Moon meeting at 28 degrees Cap, and Mercury and Mars both at 26 Cap. When the chart is cast for Washington, DC (and this chart rules the whole of the US, as our nation’s capital is there) we find all four of these planets in the Eighth House of secrets, along with Venus, Pluto, Vesta, and Pallas Athena who are in Aquarius.

There’s something roiling just below the surface. Karmic debts are coming due. We’re called upon to take accountability — both collectively and as individuals — for our past mistakes, and to step up for the common good. Open up the windows of your mind and let in some fresh air: if you were an alien just dropped off on this planet, and encountering everything you see for the first time, WHAT would appear strange and out of joint? This is your invitation to address it, to balance the imbalance.

As Venus, Pluto, and Carl Jung all like to say: “Where love rules, there is no will to power, and where power predominates, love is lacking. The one is the shadow of the other.”

Mars, the God of Action, continues moving through his favorite sign. He is responsible, purposeful, firm, and effective in Capricorn — and he’s offering energetic backup to his neighbor Mercury, who rules the New Moon chart cast for Washington, DC. If you’re dealing with the chronically wishy-washy, this is a good time to pin them down. (And that includes yourself!) Lies and double-dealing are exposed now.

This New Moon continues the trend of our New Moons coming in at the late degrees of their respective signs, which we’ve encountered every month since last September. We are finishing up major karmic cycles: it’s our chance to get this right!

Expect some more upheaval: Sunday actually marks the unofficial opening of Eclipse season, because Pallas Athena is currently perched on the point of the NEXT New Moon Eclipse in February. Listen closely for guidance from the Goddess of Wisdom. She’s pointing out the places where you need to clear out space for your next project. Deal with it now when it’s “not urgent” so you don’t have to face the emergency version later on.

If you’d like to learn more about the nature of this weekend’s New Moon, and how it lands in YOUR chart and life, I invite you to join me online on Friday, January 16th at 7:30 PM Eastern.

Big hugs, Anne
