The Aries Equinox March 20, 2016
The Sun crosses the equator on March 20, 2016 at 12:31 am EDT, marking the beginning of the Spring Season in the Northern Hemisphere and the Fall Season in the Southern Hemisphere. Some Northern Hemisphere astrologers also use the Aries Ingress as the chart for the year as it officially begins the growing season. Every day, by a minute or two, the lit part of the day grows while the darker part of the day shrinks in the North while the reverse happens in the Southern part of the globe.
Cast for Washington, D.C, the Aries chart is mighty powerful and very contentious. Hard to believe, but it looks like ANOTHER season of arguments ahead of us! Such is the energy of a mutable cross with cranky planets fighting with each other. Mars is on the Ascendant in Sagittarius and answers to Jupiter in critical Virgo at the top of the chart. Expect to hear lots of reasons why things can’t be done, won’t be done, or aren’t being started. Excuses, excuses, excuses.
Actually, there is NO air in the chart. So words are going to be very interesting as they are not supported by the actions taking place. Or the words will be misleading or misinterpreted.
There is a grand trine in fire with Moon in Leo talking to Saturn in Sagittarius and Uranus in Fire. Expect sudden emotional arguments to fly off or flare up, especially if someone is feeling disrespected! Leo Moon, while she is void, is still pretty potent and she’s high in the chart ruling the sky!! Door slamming, dramatic exits, sudden ruptures ~ you get the idea!
All the planets in the heavens are involved in the cosmic discussion, argument or story as there are No unaspected planets. Every single one of the planets is weighing in and contributing to the energy!! An opinionated moment in time indeed! A quick glance at the chart shows contention as well as cooperation from unexpected places as Venus and Neptune link up and cuddle at the bottom of the chart.
The Giant mutable T-square is angular and active, shifting, changing and migrating into new spaces. It is going to make us feel forced to take action. The eclipse energy arriving in a few days on the Full Moon further pushes us to emotional excess and drama.
A pointed Finger of God, exiting on the Midheaven and right next to the Pisces New Moon eclipse degree indicates major changes in the leadership energy of the country. It pulls the wisdom of pattern seeing Pallas in Aquarius and the change nature of Uranus in Aries up into the Jupiter/North Node of Fate/ Midheaven energy. This is a rocket taking off!!
The Sun is joined to the fixed star Scheat which was said to indicate vain individuals with a great deal of ambition, but with very poor judgment whose words or writings do them in as well danger from the ocean, drowning or shipwrecks. Robson says Sun/Scheat is about ambition, vanity, intuition, enthusiasm, caprice and bad judgment. Watch for leaders to make poor judgements which lead to their “death” ~ loss of power, position or influence.
Scheat is in the constellation of the mighty winged horse, Pegasus. In mythology, Bellerophon rode Pegasus into the heavens and fell off. The Pegasus syndrome is the innate ability to negotiate difficulties by rising above them OR the danger of overreaching and falling off the high perch. Pegasus was the winged horse child of Medusa and Neptune, symbols of ‘wisdom’ and ’emotion,’ respectively. Bellerophon attempted to fly to Olympus (overreach). He believed that Pegasus was subject to his will ~ instead he was tossed back to earth. It is unwise to take any situation for granted. The ‘lesser’ person or, the beast will be the one to teach a needed lesson in humility or take you down a peg. Donald Trump, a Gemini, already had one attempt as his Secret Service Agent took a knife cut to his hand. We know Gemini’s have to go through everything twice! Hillary Clinton’s emails are under discussion again. Going to be interesting to see who is still standing at the end of the eclipse season.
There are a number of Kites in the sky, so things fly in and fly out. Take the information and work with it. The Mystic Rectangle involved with the Nodes of Fate indicate this is a fated matter. Sometimes we have free will. Other times we don’t have free will. The events of this week are fated matters with the seeds sown long ago by choices made. Failure to take responsibility for ones actions can really bite you in the butt. Or have you fall to earth like Bellerophon did!! Saturn in the first house says take responsibility!!
Finally the stretched Pentagram and all the angry feminine energy in the sky says don’t mess with the angry feminine. They are NOT in the mood for it. The angry feminine energy will remind you that the only reason you are here is because you were born and emerged from between a women’s legs as a helpless baby energy. And then, they will ask you how you feel about your mother and why you are behaving so badly toward the feminine! Both Lilith and Eris are quite irritated this week. And remember MEN can have angry feminine in them as well as women!!
So how to USE this volatile, crazy, swirling, contentious energy productively? Harness that creative stuff flying around, transform it into your own mojo, apply it to your projects, dreams or ideas and get things moving. Keep the energy moving. Don’t block the energy or try to control it. If you run into blocks or obstructions, take the energy and push it towards the place where there are no blocks. (the Gemini house or the Pisces house) It is mighty powerful energy and deeply transformative. Go for the transformation! Remember the chart is for the whole season of spring! Or maybe the Year? A wild ride on the back of a winged horse awaits you!
