New Moon 5:48 Gemini 1:26 am EDT Washington, D.C.
Be conscious and aware of what you wish for on our fast moving, out of bounds New Moon in Gemini! Both Mercury, the ruler of Gemini and the Moon are out of bounds of Sun’s path and thus out of Sun’s control. Imagine them throwing a ball back and forth over Sun’s head, just out of his reach as he jumps to try and catch it. I adore out of bound planets as they are so unpredictable in a predictable kind of way. They appeal to my Uranian heart. Out of Bounds planets are not governed by the traditional “rules” of how planets are “supposed” to behave. Out of Bound planets are called “feral” as in existing in a wild or untamed state, especially having reverted to such a state from domestication. Of or characteristic of a wild animal, savage. The Moon and Mercury are both free from the Sun’s ego constraints, rules, status consciousness, orders, direction and restrictions. Moon and Mercury are not operating by the rules of their previous domestication. No model and perfect behavior. They are not tame any more. Or not tame right now.
So what does a not-tame, feral, out of bounds Mercury look like? He shoots his mouth off without regards for consequences. He says what he thinks without societal restraints, political correctness or paying attention to what his mother. You know, that if he didn’t have something nice to say to keep his mouth shut and say nothing at all. Mercury is going to be talking trash ~ lots of bitchy, mean spirited, BUT TRUE (at least from Mercury’s perspective) down and nasty bits. Mercury is in Gemini so he is VERY WITTY, and quite sharp tongued as he points out the contradictions and fallacies in anything he notices.
What does a not-tame, feral, out of bounds Moon look like? She’s Mercury’s mother who has told Mercury millions of time to watch his tongue. However, out of bounds herself, she loses it and starts shouting nasty bits at her best friend in front of her child Mercury. Mercury knows where he gets his mouth from ~ an acorn doesn’t fall far from momma oak tree. Moon rules the public, habits, home, women, mothers, things emotionally close to your heart, or stuff that nurtures you. Eating disorders and addictions kick up on out of bounds moons. OR you can separate from addictions on this moon to never pick up a cigarette, drugs or drink again. You know, your friend who woke up having no idea how she got into bed with a person she doesn’t even remember, finds vomit on her Manolos and can‘t find her bra? She stumbles home with a headache, in last night’s evening dress at high noon. She vows never to touch the stuff again! And she doesn’t. Ever again. That is an out of bounds moon!
Or put them together ~ you are at a lovely restaurant having dinner with a couple of your friends who are romantically involved but having a rocky time. Friend A says, yet again, that they plan to diet after eating an expansive meal, finishing partner’s food, while eating a big piece of chocolate cake and drinking a double cappuccino with heavy whipped cream in it. Friend B, their romantic honey, announces that they have decided to dump Friend A because they are SUCH a fat piggy. And, furthermore, Friend A is on a fast track to an early death from colon cancer due to all the fat she eats. Your mouth is hanging open as you witness the scene in front of you. Suddenly chocolate cake morphed into COLON CANCER? Yep. That is an out of bounds Mercury remark taking place in an out of bounds Moon moment.
Be aware of moon environments as they will trigger Mercury‘s mouth and his nasty bits. Feral, wild and designed to ferret out the truth ~ but the “truth” looks ratty, mean spirited and snarling. .
Know it is not about the chocolate cake nor getting colon cancer. Friend B has been wanting to dump Friend A for a while. He decided to do it and tie the chocolate cake to colon cancer because he positively couldn’t stand, for another second, the way Friend A smacks her lips and chews with her mouth open. Friend B “snapped” (or went feral) when Friend A stuck her fork into YOUR cheesecake for just a teeny tiny bite. You didn’t even notice she took a corner of your cheesecake, much less were offended by it. You get the idea. So, when you hear or see out of bounds words flying around, look for the truth in them (it IS in there) and ignore the nasty bits the truth is wrapped up in. Keep eating chocolate cake ~ it doesn’t cause colon cancer!
To add a bit more excitement to the lunar mix, our out of bounds Mercury is square to Uranus and trine to Neptune and Chiron. Uranus, Neptune and Chiron suggest shocked, invisible possibilities of wounds WITHOUT actually meaning to hurt someone‘s feelings. If someone says something to you that hurts your feelings, please know you are extra sensitive due to the out of bounds moon. Remember other folks are equally thin skinned about what you (or other people) say to them. Misunderstandings galore in a cosmic game of “phone tag” ~ any messages are going to be way off base! SO, if a friend stops calling you back or talking to you after the new moon, AND you DIDN’T want to end the friendship, review what you said. They heard it the wrong way. And, if someone says a nasty bit to you, tell a few people to see if they can poke holes in the statement or give you a different perspective before you decide to delete them from your cell phone forever.
The point of the cosmic game of phone tag is to clear stuff, people, situations, relationships out of your life that you don’t want, need or like any more. It is easier to “leave” if you are angry, mad or completely piss the other off so they go stomping away in a huff. Or, instead, you could say, “You know, it’s not working for me the way it used to.” Jupiter is squaring Saturn and Chiron from now through June 22. The nodes are about to leave Aries and Libra as we start a new 19 year journey backwards through the zodiac. Your universe needs to adjust to your new life, make room for new stuff to come in, and clear out old, torn or worn. Perhaps you might take a sabbatical instead of holding an exorcism? Make amends if you go out of bounds. Be honest about your feelings, own your side and apologize for any nasty bits.
So, let’s talk about the GOOD part of an out of bounds Moon and Mercury. Karma is accelerated! The universe is about to drop you in the middle of one of the most fantastic adventures of your life. You are going to get what you ask for. Make sure to ask for what you want. Ask for your higher good! Whatever it is will come rushing in, right towards you, very fast. Remember when Glinda landed, after arriving in her magic bubble, at beginning of the Technicolor part of the Wizard of Oz? You know, when Dorothy turned to Toto saying, “I don’t think we are in Kansas any more! “
Do notice Mercury in Gemini is squaring Uranus in Pisces~ those Ruby Red Slippers (certainly Uranus in Pisces!) have magic powers to do cool things! And you irritated the Wicked Witch of the West because you killed her sister (no, you didn’t MEAN to but your house DID fall on her) and borrowed/stole/were given those bizarre Ruby Red shoes (depending on who you ask~ everybody has their own version of the story ~ even the Munchkins!). The Uranus in Pisces square Mercury in Gemini combined with the t-square of Saturn in Leo, Jupiter in Scorpio, and Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius business suggests you are about to start on a magical journey to find your way back to your own home sweet home.
You are going to meet strange new friends with weird wounds (Chiron in Aquarius ~ missing their brains, heart and courage!) as you fight your fear of annihilation and death (Jupiter in Scorpio ~ mean apple trees, dangerous poppy fields, flying monke
ys and a scary green witch!)
. Now, your friends will help you in unusual, unseen, unanticipated ways (Neptune in Aquarius ~ they actually do have brains, hearts and courage, snow wakes you from poppy sleep, a crystal ball tells you to have hope and water melts witches!) while you seek your heart’s path and life’s work ~ Saturn in Leo.
To widen your field of vision and understand the duality in the world, IF you have any spare time, read “Wicked” or see the Broadway show between now and June 22nd. Wicked tells the story from the green witch’s perspective. She actually was a pretty decent sort, misunderstood. Wicked will remind you that History belongs to those who survive to tell their story.
At any rate, between now and the end of October, you are about to begin a VERY IMPORTANT JOURNEY to get to your home and hearth. So “Do your Saturn” as much as you can, as often as you can and be loyal, brave, courageous, create, love, expand, act, move, dance and sing toward what you love like Dorothy followed that yellow brick road to Oz. Think of your Saturn as your Yellow Brick Road.
Last, but certainly NOT least, our lovely new moon features a Finger of God. I love the universe’s sense of humor! The Finger of God has Ceres in Aquarius sextiling Pluto in Sagittarius. Both point to Mars, Juno and Vesta in Cancer at the apex. Here we get to R. L. Stevenson’s cosmic reason: “To be what we are, and to become capable of becoming, is the only end in life.”
Break down the new moon’s Finger of God ~ Ceres in Aquarius ~ you were created as a knowing spiritual being agreeing to have a physical journey on Mom Earth to work with, sextile, Pluto in Sagittarius so you can transform your spiritual essence, expand understanding and beliefs. To do that work, you must, Mars in Cancer, work toward what nurtures and makes you feel secure or at home, Vesta in Cancer, by partnering, Juno in Cancer, with what nurtures you. All yellow brick roads in your life will take you to Oz, your very own Oz. Now, you can get there the easy way by doing what you love, or the hard way, or some combination of both. Your goal is to “To be what you are, and to become capable of becoming, is the only end in life.” You are the creators of your own life. Might as well have fun on your journey home and do what you want to do!

WORKMEN DRILLING FOR OIL
Commentary: ‘Workmen Drilling For Oil’ is a Symbol of people working and endeavoring to find some treasure. Often this treasure, the ‘Oil’, is buried deep and there must be significant effort made to bring it to the surface. Searching deeply into the depths often carries a certain amount of risk, and the ‘Workmen’ need to have an incentive for doing the task. ‘Drilling for Oil’’ also shows a desire to get to the depths, or the bottom, of an issue, or to find the rewards that exist deep within something.
Oracle: The situation facing you will probably need hard work, concentration and commitment. The rewards you are seeking may be hidden way beneath the surface at the moment. The answers you want are often held within yourself, or others, and it can be just a simple matter of having, and keeping, faith in the search. You may need to explore your inner self for answers. Acting in cooperation with others who have the skills to assist you in such an exploration can bring things to the surface that you didn’t even know were there. As true rewards are at times both difficult to find and unsuccessful, it is through employing continual perseverance and shying away from feelings of futility that you will find success. You may need to get used to operating in the dark or acting without a clear view of outcomes. Exposing yourself to risks is often necessary in order to gain rewards or wealth. You will need to stick with the task, whilst keeping an eye on what the real objective is. Trust your intuition and follow your heartfelt endeavors. Even if you don’t actually strike ‘Oil’, there can still be much learnt during the exploration. This Symbol can also indicate a person, or people, who are prepared for, or considering, the value of the risk in ‘Drilling’ for this potential reward. Keep a positive attitude, as perseverance, persistence and hard work will pay off in some measure.
Keywords:
Pursuit of material or spiritual wealth. Ambition. The drive to plumb the depths. Trying to get to the bottom of things. Opportunistic attitudes. Making a fortune through other’s resources. Psychoanalysis and psychotherapy. Dream analysis. Explorations, past life or present. Dependence on wealth. Research. Exploring answers. Oil and oil wells. Drills and equipment.
The Caution: Putting a great deal of effort into risky activities for uncertain returns. Unceasing work. Hoping to “strike it rich”. Neglecting friends and loved ones. Focusing too deeply on a goal. Being opportunistic and looking for the “lucky strike”. Relying on others to come up with the goods. Gold diggers and opportunists.
In deep meditation the flow of concentration is continuous-like the flow of oil. Patanjali
Few things are impossible to diligence and skill. Great works are performed, not by strength, but perseverance. Samuel Johnson
Rockefeller once explained the secret of success. ‘Get up early, work late-and strike oil.’ Joey Adams
The weak shall inherit the earth, but not the mineral rights. J. Paul Getty
Of course we all have out limits, but how can you possibly find your boundaries unless you explore as far and as wide as you possibly can? I would rather fail in an attempt at something new and uncharted than safely succeed in a repeat of something I have done. A. E. Hotchner
So drill for the desired treasure in your life as you take your own yellow brick road toward your heart’s desire! Stay conscious and aware of what you ask of out of bound Mercury and Moon. They are listening. Magic is afoot!
