28 Capricorn 41

The New Moon on January 18, 2007 is part of the series of 9 new moons that occur in the last three degrees of the zodiac’s signs from Virgo through Taurus. The solar system is letting us know it is time to finish up our projects and wrap things up so our next phase of life can start. The New Moon takes place at 28:41 Capricorn, Saturn‘s favorite sign. Seven of the traveling stars in the heavens are in signs ruled by Saturn ~ Sun, Moon, Mercury, Pallas Athena, Chiron, Neptune and Venus. In other words, these planets are focusing their behaviors and energies; they are listening and paying attention to Saturn. The planets ruled by Saturn are going to do what Saturn tells them to do. As a result, the Houses in every chart ruled by Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra and Pisces will be dancing to the tune of the new moon, listening to Saturn’s call and doing what he asks them to do.

Saturn still stands alone, as the handle of the bucket, over on the far side of the solar system, working, waiting and moving retrograde towards his station mid-April. Saturn has an ongoing opposition with Neptune in a sign also ruled by Saturn. Saturn and Neptune are in the process of recreating and revising the various structures, forms and realities in our individual lives and the world. All the planets under their sway are feeling the pull to go back and revisit, revise, rebuild, redream, redissolve, reimagine and recreate. With Neptune and Saturn talking to each other in the sky, via an opposition, all the planets ruled by Saturn are seeing parts of themselves dissolve, melt or wash away in the tides of Neptune‘s ocean and softness. And the planets ruled by Neptune will find themselves to be getting a bit more structure. solidness and form at they go toward what they are creating with Uranus and the North Node in Pisces.

When I was young, I received a rock polishing kit as a gift. I gathered rocks, put them into a container with water and sand. After I turned it on, it tumbled. After what seemed like a VERY long while, the rocks emerged smooth, flowing, and soft to the touch. They were polished, like river rocks are ~ glistening and gorgeous with all the rough edges worn off. I was fascinated by the process and tumbled quite a collection of smooth rocks. I would frequently stop the machine to look to see how polished the rocks were. It seemed to take forever to get them shiny! Once I decided to grind a few rocks into sand. I gave up. It took too long, although they did get much smaller and shiner. It takes a long time to turn a rock back into sand. Smoothing away the rough edges was a FAST process compared to grinding a rock into sand. It is the same story with our Saturn. Saturn is the rock in our chart.

At Leo ruled Saturn’s New Moon in Capricorn with the lovely opposition to Neptune in Aquarius, we are each going to be put into a cosmic rock tumbler in our lives. The point of the rock tumbler is to help us release and smooth out the rough edges that still live on our Saturn and in our lives. There is going to be plenty of sand and water swirling around your set of rocks. You are going to be in the rock tumbler between now and the end of June. You get to peek and look at your progress in mid-April when Saturn stations. You are going to be buffed, rubbed, scraped, smoothed, sanded and polished for the next few months as Saturn and Neptune work their magic on you, dancing back and forth with each other in the heavens and rubbing away at your rough edges, smoothing you off, getting you ready for the next phase of your life.

Now, it MIGHT feel like you are being ground into sand over the next few months. That your entire life is falling apart. Saturn and Neptune are working their magic on your. Nothing could be further from the truth! You are being ground down. Your rough edges are getting smoothed out and worn away. However, you will still have your self, your rock, your Saturn. But you will find your Saturn is smoother, clearer, shinier, and softer to the touch. It takes a VERY long time for a rock to be turned to sand! Yes, it CAN happen. But the point for the next six months is NOT to turn you into sand but to tumble you into your next phase of life. Now, if you are like me, rock tumbling is NOT your favorite kind of activity. I, myself, am a bit of a control freak. Too Much Pluto and Scorpio in my chart! However, EVEN I know that there are times when Rock Tumbling Machine is happening so the changes are arriving.

As conscious beings, aware of whom we are and who we care for in our world, we think of ourselves as unique and special critters. And we are unique and special ~ especially to the people whose lives we touch and who love us! However, when we put ourselves into the flooded river of humanity and the wider current of time, we see how teeny tiny and insignificant we are. At the Planetarium in New York City, one walks down a long, long, curving ramp that describes the process of the creation of the Universe and our Solar System. At the very end, there is a human hair. A single human hair, embedded in plastic, in a huge, enormous room of the solar system and cosmos. That human hair represents the amount of time all humans have existed on earth. It is mind boggling and incomprehensible actually! A huge ramp compared with a hair that represents all humans from the dawn of man forward. Wow.

Our new moon, and the events that take place under it, will serve as a reminder of who we are and how we fit into the huge cosmic tide, with our planets ticking away like a giant cosmic clock. We are part and parcel of the solar system. We are each a rock being tumbled into a new existence. We are a part of that human hair at the end of a long ramp of creation. And we are, perhaps most importantly, part and parcel of an evolutionary process on our planet and our universe. We are an evolutionary force in our beings. Our chart describes when and where we evolve. The cosmic clock says it time for our planet to evolve.

So, the time is now. Evolve! Say yes. Move toward what you want. Take the dream of yours and move towards it, whether you are receiving positive feedback and support, OR NOT! It is YOUR dream. You know you want it. So move toward it. Just a few teeny tiny baby steps but do move toward it. Don’t be afraid. It is just a bit of water and sand and a few over your head tumbles of the giant rock polishing machine and you will be there, all nice and shiny.

On to Lynda Hill’s interpretation of the Sabian Symbols for 29 Capricorn Sun and Moon. The image is: A WOMAN READING TEA LEAVES

Commentary: ‘A Woman Reading Tea Leaves’ shows someone looking into a cup and being able to see and ‘Read’ signs and meaning in things that most people would never stop to notice or know how to read. The patterns in the cup “speak” to the woman. There’s no way of knowing how good she is at interpreting what she sees: She may be a very experienced reader, with a great depth of clairvoyance or intuition, or she may be trying to see how much she can ‘Read’ into the ‘Tea Leaves’ in a simpler, or experimental way.

Oracle: You may be open to the ability, or the need, for seeing meaning through the catalyst of the simplest of everyday events. You will receive messages about your situation, if you are open to “seeing” the signs. The Symbol of the ‘Woman Reading Tea Leaves’ shows that such simple things as the ‘Tea Leaves’ in the bottom of your cup are able to give indicators and clues as to what’s coming up in the future or in your life right now. One has to put aside skepticism and be able to embrace trust and an intuitive knowing in order to be able to listen to the messages that are there. Just be aware that this situation doesn’t lead to looking for clues to something everywhere you look. One loses the gift of enjoyment and spontaneity if there is
no discrimination about wher
e, and how often, one looks for guidance and answers. Don’t take everything verbatim, as the answers that are given in this situation are often rather symbolic and take thoughtful interpretation. This may picture a situation where you are able to see these meanings, or it can show that another will perform this for you. Whatever, looking at things from a different perspective can reveal previously hidden information and truths, often in the simple things around us in the everyday world.

Keywords: Symbolism opening pathways to the spiritual center. Seeing the signs. Seeing signatures in small things that others miss. Intuition and clairvoyance. Creative visualization. Tealeaves and coffee grinds. Non verbal cues. Rituals. Tea and sympathy.

The Caution: Reliance on superstition or esoteric advice. Constantly seeking assurance. Taking things literally, not symbolically. Looking for answers or significance everywhere.

Methods for predicting the future: 1) read horoscopes, tea leaves, tarot cards, or crystal balls… collectively known as “nutty methods;” 2) put well-researched facts into sophisticated computer… commonly referred to as “a complete waste of time.” Scott Adams

Forward we go, on a lovely new moon at the very last degree of Saturn’s sign. Our Saturn in Leo say follow and do what your heart desires, even if it seems too hard. Sun, Moon, Mercury, Pallas Athena, Chiron, Neptune and Venus are ready to do Saturn’s (and your) bidding. If Saturn and you tell them to curl up and give up, they will. If Saturn and you tell them to hunker down and push toward their dream as the sand, water and tumbling actions over the next few months smooth out their rough edges, they will. Remember, part of the process of rock tumbling is the rocks bumping against each other too. It add a bit of force and extra friction to the mix. In this case, the planets Sun, for your ego and soul‘s direction, Moon for your nurturing and sustenance, Pallas Athena for your wisdom and strategy, Chiron, in charge of your soul’s wound, Neptune who brings the vision of the dream and Venus who supplies the desire, love and passion. All those planets will be bumping up against each other, tumbling around in a giant rock machine and getting their edges smoothed off and changes. Do you have ANY idea how beautiful you will be when the machine gets turned off at the end of June?
