Scorpio Sun/ Taurus Moon 23:46
Tuesday’s full Moon in Taurus opposing the Sun in Scorpio shouts out to us to grow up, evolve and develop as a community of fellow human beings with a strong, coherent, passionate, possibly angry and perhaps violent Martian energy. I was struck by the amount of Mars energy zinging around the lunation chart! The lunation occurs on Mars’ day during Mars’ hour in the chart cast for Washington, D.C. Notice Mars retrograde in Taurus as the highest planet after the North Node in Aries, ruled by Mars in Taurus. Mars in the stubborn earth sign of the Taurean bull is trapped in a fixed cross in the fixed houses, giving Mars extra dig in its heels, paw the ground, snort and charge at things energy. Like a bull in a bullfight, the moment of truth approaches. Mars heads towards his retrograde square to stationary Saturn in Leo, part two of their square dance. The full moon resurrects events from around July 31, 2005 when Mars and Saturn first met and fought with each other at 1:56 of the fixed energies. Mars rules Scorpio Sun, Vertex, Athena and Jupiter. Jupiter in Scorpio rules Pluto, Mercury, and Ceres so Mars has a hand in their functioning. Saturn is deposed by our Scorpio Sun giving Mars yet another planet caught in his thrall. That is a heck of a lot of Mars! The bad part of that much Mars, especially in stuck in a rut Taurus, is it tends to be stuck in the patterns of old behaviors and survival mechanisms. Right now, at this moment it time, it is time for your old behaviors to end or evolve. Otherwise, like that bull in a bullfight you might not survive to fight another day.
The second part of the lunation to pay attention to is the aspect between Uranus and Saturn, amplified and revved up by their respective stations within a week of each other, over the next 6 days. Uranus and Saturn have been dancing together in an inconjunct aspect for a while now. Inconjuncts present to us a situation of facing stressful choices, very important stressful choices that appear to be diametrically opposite. We feel like we have to choose between two apparently irreconcilable pillars of how we are to to be in the world. But it is a trick! The pillars actually are not irreconcilable! However, we THINK and BELIEVE they are irreconcilable due to OUR limited vision of how things could, can, must and should be. Whenever there is an inconjunct aspect like the one Saturn and Uranus are making, we need to look at BOTH sides of the choices before us. We need to understand that nothing is perfect or flawless. We need to understand that no choice can be completely controlled or understood. Life is a messy, chaotic, changeable mess of creative energy. If we can manage to let go of our obsession with perfection or controlling everything, we can move forward, holding onto our heart’s cherished intentions, even if the vision before us isn‘t completely right or the path clear. Otherwise, we are trapped in our life. The point of life is to MOVE FORWARD, making the best choice you can at the time. Do not be paralyzed with fear or anxiety!
Third, Uranus stations and begins to move forward less than an hour before the full moon. In cosmic time, that is a less than a trillionth of a nana-second so our Uranus station is integral to this lunation. The day before the full moon, Mercury stations, squaring the Uranus station last June 14, 2005 when the dreams you were starting to work on, paused and reversed as the Universe asked you to refine exactly HOW you wanted your dream to go forward. The Mercury station also trines stationing Saturn at 11 Leo, giving your heart’s desire words at last. Maybe clumsy words, maybe too many words but words nonetheless. The first step of creation is the thought, the idea or the Word. This week, your dream begins to go forward, very, very, very, very slowly ~ but forward nonetheless. There still are structural issues to solve. But it is moving forward. Between now and March 2006, you have time to revise, revisit, restructure and renovate the dream as Saturn stations next week asking you to make a decision about whether you want that window looking out on the garden before they put up the sheetrock. Your dream is taking shape before your very eyes. Follow your brilliant ideas (or perhaps merely the opposite of what you DON‘T want) to the next place in your life.
Fourth and next up, the lunation takes place at the degree where Mars stationed in Taurus on October 1, 2005. The full moon lights up those Mars in Taurus energies as well as the issues from Fall 1982 through Spring 1983 that were activated by the last month’s eclipses. Ah, those issues from last month‘s lunation, back once again to be looked at and released into the heavens. Fill in the trenches in the battlefield of your soul, mark that grave if you want and start to move onto the rest of your life. You were so much younger then. You are wiser than that now!
Fifth point to note about the lunation is how near it is to the fixed star Algol, one of the more difficult stellar energies. This moon is going to activate her energies, for good or for evil. Algol is a blinking, binary star and known as Medusa’s head. You remember Medusa from myths! She used to turn people into stones statues of fear when they gazed upon her appalling head of snakes. Algol is NOT a pretty energy at all!! However, Medusa WAS beheaded and killed because a clever warrior knew to gaze at her using his shield. The shield acted as a mirror. He avoided being turned to stone and managed to cut her head off. He literally slayed his fears (and the source of the death and fear of many others before him). Algol so profoundly involved in the lunation suggests we need to be very clever warriors indeed or we will be turned to stone by our fears. Behead Medusa or die! Nice choice don‘t you think? So take a look at the dreaded object in a mirror. See if you can figure out how to get around it. Understand it is merely a reflection of YOUR FEARS. You can slay your fears IF you are clever! However, you will be turned into Stone by your fears if you are not clever! So lay those fears right out there on the table and see what they look like. (Make sure to look in the mirror as you do it so you are not turned to stone!) Figure out what your shield will be. Gaze into your mirror shield, face your fears, and understand how your fears are a reflection of YOU. KILL IT!!! KILL THEM!!! You can do it! Now is the time! Go for it! Besides, they are YOUR FEARS. You can kill your fears off if you want to.
Sixth, Pluto is exactly inconjunct the Taurus Moon and semi-sextile to the Scorpio Sun. The only way out is through. You have to go through it. On the other side, it will be much better, even if the landscape of your life is radically different. Climb on board for a wild ride. Get ready to kill you fears. Polish your shield in the meanwhile.
Seventh, as if all of the above was not enough, we have Uranus and Saturn’s midpoint sitting smack dab on the Full moon, also the Mars in Taurus retrograde station, and Medusa’s head of writhing snakes. That poor little Taurus moon, ruler of the lunation chart and focal point for our feelings is being blasted with all the energy of just about every planet in the solar system. Thank heavens the moon is exalted in Taurus! Otherwise, she would be having a nervous breakdown right about now.
So, let us summarize where we are at this moment in time in our evolution as a species, person and member of the human collective. We have oodles of planets responding to Mars in Taurus, backward, stuck in a rut, retrograde, regressive, stubborn, no I am not going to change bull headed energy. We have a fixed cross in fixed houses suggesting even more stubbornness, if that is possible! We have Mercury, Uranus and Saturn stationing and shifting directions willy nilly, putting even move developmental pressure on our souls. They are all involved in the lunation pattern and in aspect to each other. We have Saturn and Uranus dancing in a very stressful aspect with each other as they station less than a week apart. We have the eclipse from last month being triggered and bringing up all those yucky feelings from Fall of 1982 through Spring 1983 when we faced a battle for our very life and the soul of who we were to become in this world in this lifetime. We have Mars digging in his heels and going backwards, evoking the imagery of regressing to a very juvenile state (haven’t all your “old” issues been dancing around the room shouting at you lately?) We have our very own Medusa’s head of snakes writhing in front of us threatening to turn us into a frozen stone statue of fear and loathing. We have to figure out how to slay our fears or die trying. That darn Medusa is trying to get us to look at her and kill us. We have Pluto saying evolve into a cohesive tribe that understands we are all connected or else ~ make that evolutionary leap of faith. We have Uranus and Saturn’s midpoint on the point of the lunation AND Mar’s retrograde station AND Algol just rocking and rolling that poor old moon even more.
I cannot emphasis enough how strongly I want you to visualize the POSITIVE version of the next part of your life! Do not contribute ANY energy at all to the old, hateful, difficult, dire, tired, cranky, crabby versions in front of you. You cannot do anything about them anyway, at least not until March. So no planning on living to a ripe old age, unloved and alone with your cats, no bemoaning your fate trapped in a job you hate, no whining about not having money or being over your head in debt, NET/NET: NO complaining about the current reality you helped to create by your past behavior!! Please do not contribute any energy to it at all!!! Otherwise, at this moment in time, you will be turned to stone by Medusa’s head and have to live with all that yucky stuff for the rest of your life, all 30, 40, 50, 60 or 70 years or perhaps even the next 17 incarnations.
Well, No, not really. I just wanted to make my point as dramatically as I could! But right now, please understand that it is a crystalline moment in time and space where you can freeze your soul into a rock solid stone or help it chip free of the accepted, agreed upon, locked in time version of your old truths. Can you imagine walking up to slay Medusa and seeing all those anguished stone statues of warriors who tried before you and failed? What an anxiety attack that would produce! But we are clever. We’ve been training. We’ve read the book. We have a plan. We have a goal. We are going to go for it, or die trying (or be turned into stone).
Push for your life. Push for your dreams. Push for your visions. Ride on Medusa’s head of change into the next phase of your life!
YOU HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR USUAL BEHAVIOR TO GET OUT OF HERE ALIVE!!!
Lynda Hill’s Sabian Symbol imagery for 24 Taurus ~ our full moon’s degree matches the Algol imagery.
AN INDIAN WARRIOR RIDING FIERCELY WITH HUMAN SCALPS HANGING AT HIS BELT
Commentary: ‘An Indian Warrior Riding Fiercely With Human Scalps Hanging at His Belt’ is a Symbol of great force and conquest. ‘Scalping’ is often associated with American Indians. The fact is, however, that the Indians learnt the practice of ‘Scalping’ from the Europeans, where it was a well-established tradition. It is not well known that the English also paid bounties for Irish scalps. The original Indian tradition was for the ‘Warrior’ to steal something from the person conquered to show how strong his medicine was to others. Regardless of who does it: a vengeful heart creates only sadness for all concerned, and there are no real winners, in the end.
Oracle: Someone may have been holding back from pursuing what they’ve wanted and are now going after all they can get. Consideration may need to be made concerning other people’s rights as this can point to the invasion of other people’s space or territory. The “us or them” mentality can lead to disputes, and separations and the forgetting of a sense of people’s humanity. Perhaps you haven’t been given a fair share of things by society, or these have literally been taken from you. There can be a chain reaction set off with this Symbol, so there needs to be care taken that a real “war” is not started with people seeking revenge. There may be a need for someone to mark their territory and claim their dues. Look to see if there are barriers up to prevent invasions of territory, yours or another’s. Be wary of excessive competition, in the marketplace or the home, as this can scare people off – making the environment unsafe and unsound. Taken to its extreme, this Symbol can point to all-out wars between people.Alternatively, with a level of controlled aggression and taking necessary risks, you can be recognized for your abilities as a successful leader, prepared to face risks to succeed. Bravery and honor are often admired and respected by others.
Keywords: Race wars. Claiming one’s soil. Fighting for territory. Trophies of conquest. Aggression. Basic instincts. Territoriality. Chain reactions. Tit-for-tat. Competitive natures. Risks for the clan or group. Trophies, medals and diplomas. Striving for recognition and respect, deserved or not. Blood and sacrifice. Tribes mourning their losses and their dead. Ritualistic behaviors. Marking victories. War crimes.
The Caution: Conquering others without emotion. Showing off to intimidate others. Domination and ruthlessness. Taking things because one can. Violation of other’s space. Testosterone. Feeling taken advantage of. Notches on the belt, or gun. Cycles of retribution. Vengeance.

The Sabian image for our 24 degree Scorpio Sun is:
CROWDS COMING DOWN THE MOUNTAIN TO LISTEN TO ONE INSPIRED MAN
Commentary: ‘Crowds’ are ‘Coming Down The Mountain To Listen To One Inspired Man’. There is a message that needs to be heard and people are making their way to the ‘One’ who can deliver it. There must be a reason for them to come ‘Down the Mountain to Listen’-there is probably something important and stimulating that they come together to receive This ‘One Inspired Man’ most likely has some gift, certainly he’s likely to have the gift of speech, knowledge and communication. There’s no guarantee, however, that everyone is going to be receptive to what’s being said; people will have many different responses to the messages being given. Although it’s fairly clear that not all will be swayed, the message is likely to resonate with many.
Oracle: Whether you are one amongst the ‘Crowds’ or you are, indeed, the ‘Inspired Man’, you may feel that you have had some wonderful realizations and insights and now you need to bring these insights, these messages, ‘Down’, from ‘The Mountain’, and integrate them into your everyday life in some way. It’s wonderful to be turned on by an inspired speaker or message, but what will be done with these revelations or new information? The truth may very well lie within yourself-listening to the positive messages from your higher self, or from others who can lift your focus. This can move you to take charge of your less positive thoughts and actions. However, there may need to be some kind of thoughtful discrimination about what’s being said as blindly accepting what’s being imparted can lead to a loss of one’s individual mindset.
Keywords: Power to sway the feelings and thoughts of many. The ability to draw a large audience. The Jesus story. Giving one’s power away to those who apparently have more authority. Charisma. Having a large audience. The minds and the ears of the many. Oratory skills. Gurus.
The Caution: Naiveté, gullibility. Feeling like someone else holds all the answers, but you don’t. Situations that smack of guru mentality. Idolatry and the manipulation that can result from it. Never knowing when to keep quiet. Forcing ideas on others when they don’t really want to listen. Not letting anyone else get a word in. Demanding attention. Feeling above everyone else.
