Full Moon Lunar Eclipse and Capricorn Ingress
The eclipses are here! The eclipses are here!
A once every 372 year event is taking place under this Full Moon and Capricorn Ingress with the union of the eclipse on the Node of Destiny at the World Axis as the Sun enters the sign of Capricorn on the World Axis. Something happening in the heavens only once every 372 years means you can expect major changes, revelations and understandings to take place during the current eclipse season and in the winter season opening before us.
Total lunar eclipses contain and release potent energies of change and illumination. They push our souls into new realizations and situations, compelling us to purge what’s not working for us so we can move onto the new. The effects of a lunar eclipse can last for months, so whatever is figured out now will be worked on for the rest of Winter if not much longer.
As the eclipse is taking place on the world axis and followed immediately by the Capricorn Ingress, we can expect changes in ourselves that the entire WORLD (or at least our world) will notice.
There are more reasons that this is an especially powerful eclipse as the Sun will be passing over Pallas Athena, the Moon’s North Node, Pluto and then Mars during the days following the eclipse. This is a very potent and powerful line-up of energies. We will be asked to let go of things that are sabotaging our efforts or holding us back emotionally.
Further, Venus is back on the degree that it went retrograde in October as well as the degree of the New Moon on November 6, 2010. . Venus has been rolling back and forth in Scorpio since September. She’s been asking us to focus on what is most valuable and important to us. She’s been asking us to understand the darker side of desires ~ ours and others. Desire as a motivating energy is clearing and pointing out where we need to go to get our deepest wishes answered. Look at what you‘ve been angry about to see the deepest wish that is still unanswered. It is time to meet and fulfill that deepest, darkest wish in a healthy and productive manner under the Full Moon eclipse and Capricorn Ingress.
The whopping big Lunar eclipse, the Capricorn Ingress, a number of emotional and consciousness making aspects are wrapped up in a brand a new beginning for each of us. At least that is what the sky describes as the journey we each will be making here below on earth. As above, so below, as without, so within.
The Lunar Eclipse is a particularly potent eclipse. It takes place as the Full Moon forms across the very last degrees of Gemini and Sagittarius at 3:13 am Eastern time, on the world axis and straddles the nodes of destiny almost on the world axis. We aren’t going to forget THIS full moon or holiday season. It also lands on the Capricorn Ingress. We can prepare for BIG THINGS to change and take place in our lives under these energies. This ain’t no run of the mill cosmic event. We also have been having big erupting activity on the Sun indicating eruptions in our ego and releases of pent up energy from our own Sun as we prepare to shift into a new life.
Friendships, relationships, family, siblings and emotional breakthroughs are the areas we will be working in under the eclipse ~ it is a Gemini (sibling), Sagittarius (beliefs, grandchildren), Cancer (family, home, mom) and Capricorn (the structure of the life we’ve built) are the hot spots under these aspects. There are action taking aspects in the heavens ~ cardinal t-squares, fingers of God and mutable grand crosses ~ highly dynamic and very flexible energies.
The Lunar Full Moon Eclipse is tied back to the New Moon from June 2009 when the Sun was on the South Node and a number of our childhood icons, legends, teachers and guides left our lives. Michael Jackson, Farrah Fawcet, and many other elders who shaped our childhood left this mortal coil for their next incarnation. Think about who left your life in June/July of 2009. It could have been a family member or merely the loss of your innocence when you were asked to grow up.
Then in March 2010, we had the test of the New Moon as Gemini Moon squared the Sun in Pisces asking us to take action around our dreams.
Now as the Full Moon forms, we see our dreams and can articulate them clearly. Or perhaps we can articulate what we DON’T want ~ but that is just as good ~ the opposite of what we don’t want is what we do want. On this Full Moon eclipse, you will become very, very clear about what you don’t want any more. Make sure to be loud and proud about articulating it, even if you only talk to your bathroom mirror. Look yourself in the eye and say your name and add the vow “I vow to xyz” ~ whatever that new vow is!” Venus hasn’t been rolling around in the mud all fall for you to NOT be clear about what works for you and what doesn’t work for you.
The Lunar Eclipse has a mutable cross between Sun and Mercury in Sagittarius next to the North Node of saying your wisdom about what you want, Jupiter and Uranus in Pisces helping that wisdom change into what you want, Moon in Gemini next to the South Node of releasing letting go of the stuff that doesn’t work for you any more, opposite Juno in Virgo answering to Mercury in Sagittarius.
Essentially, you are going to see what you’ve been partnering with and decide you need to change it up and into some NEW, different or perhaps only a slightly revised version of what you have. Revise, redo, revision. And then, once you are clear, announce it to the world in a big, bold statement. Yes I know Mercury is retrograde but you have to start someplace. You have a vision of what it can be so start there. Just be clear about what you want to accomplish or what you want in your life.
The focus of the Lunar Eclipse in Washington is taxes and what is of value to us. We have to place a value on the things we want and start to focus on those things. The rest is all illusion. So thank the eclipse for distracting you as you harness the lovely Mars in Capricorn to go GET what you and that long 100 days of Venus in Scorpio, including her retrograde have helped determine you want.
Next up the Capricorn Ingress takes place shortly after the Full Moon Eclipse at 6:39 pm Eastern Time on December 21, 2010. The Sun enters 0 of the cardinal sign Capricorn signifying the beginning of Winter. It marks the moment when the sun appears to stop and stand still for 3 days. Solstice means sol (sun) stice (still). At the lowest part of its journey, below the equator at the bottom of the ecliptic on the Tropic of Capricorn, as low as it can go, the sun appears to stand still for three days. Then, gradually, a minute longer each day, the sun starts to move back up towards the equator towards the Aries Ingress in Spring. The longest night and the shortest day take place at the same time as a very powerful lunar eclipse brings our emotions to the forefront.
In the Capricorn Ingress, the mutable grand cross of the Full Moon shifts into a cardinal t-square. Cancer Moon squares both Saturn and the IC/MC and opposes Mars in Capricorn. The large clump of planets are located in the house of physical health and work, making the focus of the next season on developing habits that support our lives physically, spiritually and emotionally.
Whatever comes to light under the Full Moon Eclipse and is discussed and emotionally processed then, we are able and willing to take action on that information under the Ingress and over the next three months and until the closing psychological quarter moon next September 2011.
There is a great deal of water in the sky in both charts, offering us emotional clarity. There is very little air in the Ingress chart compared to the eclipse chart suggesting the time for talking is through, done, over. We are moving on, taking action and acting as we know our heart wants us to act. The passion in the eclipse chart shifts to action in the Ingress chart. Both charts are fairly grounded. We are ready for the next chapter.
There are a few fingers of god in both charts suggesting it is a fated time for us. We are making decisions that will affect the future of our lives now. As signified by the heavens, we are at a cosmic cross roads, open to guidance from our environment, hopes, dreams, and loves. Listening to the whisper of our hearts about the direction to take.
The Full Moon Eclipse is the culmination of the New Moon eclipse back in June 2009. Back then, we had a giant departure of childhood icons, avatars and images. We literally “lost” our childhood and became the adults in the room. Then last March 2010,we moved to the next level of consciousness about being an adult. Now, we find ourselves at the full moon ~ offering ourselves a change in how we think, communicate and believe to be true. Our philosophy of life is evolving. ONCE that is accomplished, we have the full moon which helps us see clearly and with understanding of our life purpose.
Lynda Hill’s interpretation of the Sabian Symbol for the full Moon and the lunar eclipse is Gemini 30: A Parade Of Bathing Beach Beauties Before Large Beach Crowds. This speaks of beauty and society’s judgment about how one fits in, measures up and stands up. Often, one can feel judged by others, or by society, for how one looks or presents themselves. We can find that we’re assessed, accepted or rejected on merely superficial standards. Many are finding themselves lonely in this world obsessed with beauty and youth and it can be hard if you feel you don’t measure up.
Keywords: Being on show. Sheer attraction of beauty. Seeking praise. Displaying in order to get people to observe and/or evaluate. Beauty pageants. Bathing costumes and skimpy clothing. Beaches. Lifeguards. Beauty judges. Nudist beaches. Breast sizes. The mysteries of the feminine. Playing dress ups. Gatherings of goddesses. Mermaids converging. The water element. Recognizing superficiality and shallow behavior. Water nymphs.
The Caution: Using superficialities to win support. Giving importance to the issues of appearance. Neglecting the “beauty within”. Too much makeup. Flaunting one’s body. Not employing intellect. Leering, jeering. Lusting after the unattainable. Feeling like merchandise. Making superficial judgments.
A message from this degree could be about getting into your physical body and appearance so you can present a ‘better face to the world’. Dressing up and feeling good about yourself can give you more self confidence and the push to get out there and mix it up with others. With the eclipse on this point, though, it may not be as easy as it sounds; many can feel like giving up and not putting in the effort. Society doesn’t always reflect back to us the beauty we may hold within. However, radiating beauty is just the prescription for pushing through some of the darker aspects that are likely to be unfolding now.

Lynda Hill’s interpretation of the Sabian Image for the Sagittarius Sun in the Lunar eclipse is : The Pope Blessing The Faithful.
This speaks of rituals of reverence, blessings and worship, taking a sincere interest in others, being on the inside looking out or being on the outside looking in, rewards for loyalty, seeing support or recognition, eye-to-eye contact, being remembered, charisma and presence, having an audience with someone. The cautions include the lust for power, negating, projecting and transferring ones shadow onto others, not taking responsibility for ones actions, manipulating for desired ends, nervous reaction to power or position, demanding obedience, lording it over people, having people at ones beck and call. Who are the faithful and how are the blessed?
The degree following the lunar eclipse degree is Cancer 1, which is a powerful cardinal point. The Sabian Symbol is Cancer 1: On A Ship Sailors Lower An Old Flag And Raise A New One.
Keywords: Changing loyalties. Turning points in one’s obligations or duties. Announcing new standards. Turning a corner. Getting rid of the old guard. Letting go of old allegiances and taking up new ones. Giving up old ways. Changing bad habits. Taking the helm. Switching sexual preferences. Sailors. Ships. Flags. Divorces. Marriages.
The Caution: Rejecting the old just for the sake of change. Fickleness. Not sticking with one thing for long enough to realize the rewards of loyalty. Being a traitor. Religious quarreling. Going only where the “good action” is. Piracy. Mutiny. Treason.
Lynda Hill’s interpretation of the Sun at the World axis is An Indian Chief Claims Recognition And Power From The Assembled Tribe. This shows the need to stand up, be counted, take charge and rein in energies that may be scattered or unfocused. It can be about finding a true sense of place and claims of recognition. Perhaps there’s a need to recognize your own authority, your own sense of power?
Mercury the ruler of the Gemini eclipse, is on a power point of the zodiac, sitting retrograde smack on the Galactic Center. The Galactic Center is a point that is noted for ESP and profound leaps of intuition. Your intuition will be very strong under this eclipse. The Galactic Center speaks to our inner being about concrete creative manifestation, evolution, molding shapes and forms, seeing and visualizing things ahead of their time.
It’s time to write up your wish list for the future. Mercury retrograding over the degree is a time to analyze what you don’t want in your life; to clean out the cobwebs, to come up with a new design.
In both charts, exactly squaring Mercury are Jupiter and Uranus, bringing the element of surprise and expansion. This speaks of forming new lines of communication, linking people up, networks and networking, getting other peoples’ wavelengths, and the ability to reach far distances. Uranus can bring lightning revelations and decisions. Jupiter can ramps up and expands things, asking us to push our boundaries and explore new territory. Jupiter and Uranus join one more time the first week of January to start a new 13 year cycle of creation and brilliant ideas. The days following the eclipse are bound to be full of surprise announcements and, breakthroughs.
Venus is on the degree it went retrograde in October. She has finished the retrograde period. She is moving over fresh ground. She is still in her 100 days of over the top Scorpio passion but she’s SOOOOO clear now. Plus Venus is sextile to Saturn encouraging you to build or partner with what you desire as you move forward.
If we think about what the heavens are telling us with a 372 year cosmic event, we’ll look at the eclipse and New season Ingress with different eyes. Remember we have 6, six, 6 outer planets changing signs in the course of a year. Pluto going into Capricorn, a cardinal action taking earth sign wanting to build new structures. It has been 248 years since Pluto was last there in the lead up to the American revolution. Neptune is going into Pisces a changing mutable dream. It has been 164 years since Neptune was last there right before the Civil war. Uranus going into Aries ~ a cardinal action taking fire sign that wants to change the world. It has been 84 years since Uranus was last there between 1927 to 1934. Chiron goes into Pisces a changing mutable dream sign again this spring. The last time Chiron was there was 50 years ago during the civil rights decade and briefly last spring when the BP oil spill took place. Saturn into cardinal action taking partnering sign of Libra. Saturn was last in Libra 29 years ago, from 1980 to 1982. Jupiter moving into cardinal, action taking fire sign of Aries. Jupiter was last there 12 years ago.
We have not had this much change in the heavens in our life time. The heavens are emphasizing the large amount of change right now by creating a 372 year Full Moon eclipse on the Cardinal Ingress.
Make sure to take advantage of the energy of the mutable cross on the Eclipse to verbalize what your future is and the Cardinal t-square to take actions that support the changes that are taking place in your life right now. Six planets changing signs. A 372 year cosmic event. Major sunspot eruptions on our sun. See your life. Change your life. Go for it.
