The Taurus New Moon and the New Eclipse Season

Dear all,

The New Moon takes place next Tuesday, May 11 at 2:59 PM Eastern US time. The Sun and Moon will meet up at 21 degrees Taurus, forming a trine to Pluto, and to the former positions of the late-Cap “COVID clump” planets that we worked with all last year. Ideas, concepts, and situations that we learned about, discussed, processed, and sought to understand in 2020, are now becoming integrated into our psyches.

The Sun and Moon in Taurus are of course ruled by Venus. She, meanwhile, is currently in Gemini, answering to out-of-bounds Mercury in Gemini. The energy of communication — talking and listening — is especially prominent, directed, and focused right now. Mercury will remain in Gemini, one of his home signs, till July 11. (There is a retrograde ahead!)

The chart contains a Minor Grand Trine in Earth and Water as well: the Sun-Moon in Taurus trines Pluto in Capricorn, and Neptune in Pisces forms a sextile to them both. (Scroll down to view chart.) This configuration summons the energy of creativity, channeling matter from the world of our dreams into the plane of physical reality. Be conscious and conscientious about what you’re creating.

Mars, like Mercury, is currently out-of-bounds. He’s in Cancer and ready for a fight around families and familial matters. (Everybody have a nice Mother’s Day!) Mars is inconjunct Saturn in Aquarius in the New Moon chart: he’s actually well-positioned to help us all clarify what we’re fighting for, rather than just what we’re against.

This New Moon, beyond its importance in itself, is important because it marks the beginning of this year’s quick, intense Summer Eclipse season. From now until the end of June, we might feel a sense of Cosmic Capriciousness, rocking our world: especially when we get close to the Full Moon Eclipse of May 26 and the New Moon Eclipse on June 10. The pace of change should start to slow a bit, after the Full Moon in Capricorn on June 24.

Because these Eclipses are so powerful, we’re going to do an extra webinar this month, sometime near the Full Moon Eclipse at the end of May. But our usual New Moon webinar is scheduled for this Sunday night, May 9! If you’d like to learn more about what’s going on in the sky now and later, you are most welcome to join me tomorrow. More details below.

I’m teaching a three-hour workshop on my Pinball technique for NORWAC, the Northwest Astrology Conference, on Friday, May 28 from 12:00 noon to 3:00 PM Eastern (9:00 AM to noon Pacific time). This is an in-depth presentation containing new material; it will be interesting (I hope!) to folks who have studied Pinball with me before as well as newbies. NORWAC is a really excellent conference and I highly recommend signing up for the whole conference.

I also wanted to remind about Astrology in Your Pocket, my new offering with AstrologyHub. Every morning you get a short audio recording wth info about the energies of the coming day, plus alerts for major aspects sent straight to your cell phone. People seem to like it! More info here.

Take good care, everybody!

Big hugs,

Anne
